Guest Thoth

The first thing Thoth sees every time he looks int he mirror are the red, residual marks from the cane shots that Silent fed him, one after another after another. He places his hands on the edge of the sink countertop and looks in the mirror. His eyes are bloodshot; he can’t get much sleep because of the pounding headache he’s had for the past week. The Demonstar Driver... truly a vicious maneuver. He’s never felt a move, even the strongest of moves like the Untamed or the Walk-Off, for this long. He leans down, turns on the water. The hiss of it against the faucet and the bottom of the sink relaxes him. White noise... so soothing. What day is it? He has to rack his brain, which adds to the perpetual ache he’s had to endure.

It’s Monday... Smarkdown day. One week after he was put out of action... he’s been going stir crazy... not being able to fight. Not being able to wage war and compete in the titanic battle of wills held in the ring... it bit at his stomach, shearing off pieces of his soul as it did. So he has been holed up in a hotel on the SWF dollar, awaiting medical clearance from the local pyhsician. Every night, he is left with only his thoughts and his memories. They do not comfort him, far from it.

As Thoth turns a bend in the criss-crossing hallways of the backstage area of the arena, a red-faced aide stops him in his tracks, panting, a little drool on the side of his mouth. “Phone call for you, Thoth,” he says, before skirting off in some direction he was going before, probably to freshen someone’s coffee before, god forbid, it Runs Out. Thoth finds his way to an area reserved for phones. One is off the hook, the crook of the speaker banked around a plastic nub. He picks it up.

The canned voice on the other end says, “Call for Yuuitchiro Kesomy.”

It’s Yuuichiro Kaesame, you whore. But nobody COULD ever get the name right. One of the many reasons he is called Thoth now. Oh well. “This is he,” he replies.

Wait a minute. Why is someone asking for Yuuichiro, and not Thoth?

“Kaesame-san? *Sumimasen. It’s Ishida-san.”

(*Sumimasen, technically, means excuse me. However, it is broader in the Japanese sense. If you call someone, for example, you say excuse me to apologize for the intrusion on the other person’s sense of space, calm, and peace.)

“Ishida-san. Hmm. Why are you calling?”

Ishida continues with trepidation. “It’s about your father-”

“Dead... is he?” Thoth replies stonefaced.

Thoth has too many regrets. Leaving Japan too early to escape the normal hardships of getting just a little bit older. Signing with the IGNML as a way to ease his tortured soul. Ease it by ruining others. Ease it by joining the Clan.

Regardless, the face in the mirror is the same as it always has been.

”Kaesame... anta no jikan da! (Your time has come, Kaesame!)” The man who spoke the line was young, but full of hate and evil. Yuuichiro could feel it as his father stood to face the unnamed challenger.

“...t’ch! Koroshite mo ii? (Pfft! Is it okay if I kill you?)” He holds his fists out towards his opponent. The mystery man lunges in with a punch, but the elder Kaesame sidesteps and locks the arm. The challenger drops to his stomach, taking Kaesame with him, and hits him in the chest. The challenger gets up. Yuuichiro’s father does not. He glares at the young, future Thoth, and says to him, looking him in the eye:

“Itsuka, anta no otosan mo tsuyokunaru. (Someday, you will be as strong of a fighter as your father.)” And then he left. Yuuichiro tended to his father, who was still breathing, while watching the man walk away, slowly, out of sight.

Thoth is here to do what is right, to avenge all the souls reaped by the Clan, and to avenge the father he never appreciated.

“If you can get up from that, you really ARE better... than your father ever was...”

Silent, he had... oh god.

No, it couldn’t be.

It couldn’t be. Not possible.

But how could Silent know unless he... destroyed my father that day?

Thoth pushes away from the countertop with force. The headache is gone.

(Y) @ selling the Demonstar as more powerful than the Untamed...and that was just the Beta, bitches!

Seriously rockin' promo. Backstory and history and general goodness all around.

Wasn't me, though. Swear. Honest.

Wow...lots of colors, red, white, blue...feeling patriotic are we Thoth? :P

Meh, well, great promo, even IF I don't have a clue what's going on. Oh, and the murderer of Thoth's father was Munich all along, for the record. :D

Silent gets the blame for everything, jeez! :)

Excellent, and I mean damn excellent promo Thoth, if I had -any- beef with it, it would be to put the 'Sumimasen' note at the bottom of the promo OOC, that's all. And that's not even a big deal. (Y) my man.

Poor Silent, getting blamed for everything. Between Edwin and Thoth's dad, sheesh. Even my parents, which he had nothing to do with.

did I say that?

Killing people isn't very nice, Silent.

You should apologize.

Well... I'm liking the storyline too much... so wait til its over... THEN apologize.

I quoted my old promos in blue... word for word. I didn't see the note until after I posted. I would have moved that, being that I only quoted a small portion of my "father dies" promo.
