It's a little late now... but do you think they should have used the WCW gimmick of War Games for this match?

But, it's a "WCW" match (really a Rhodes match, but that's beside the point), so they won't do it.

WarGames needs buildup, it's needs to be sold as a brutal match. One week of buildup for one of the greatest gimmick matches of all time? Ummmm that would suck.

 

Wait for Survivor Series.

I agree with the buildup statement. Perhaps have the match at Unforgiven end in a weird fashion, with a little controversy or something of the sort. Have the 8 men continue to feud and such until WarGames is proposed by Bischoff. Build it up as brutal, like previously said, in a HIAC way........video packages, the whole 9 yards. That is, if you were intelligent. So, by my calculations, this won't happen.

If the WWE plans on having a War Games match, first off, it should be at the Survivor Series. Secondly, it should have bigger name superstars, ie. Jericho, RVD, Angle, Benoit, etc. Not that these superstars wouldn't be good enough, but in my opinion, they wouldn't fit well in this type of match.

Have AA and Flair both talk about WarGames Brutality.

 

These guys aren't bad for a WarGames- Kane could so totally be the last guy in and just kill everyone.

 

The other WCWers could talk about how they always recall seeing participants battered and bloody.

 

Also- Regal, Dustin, Storm, Christian- just gig it.

War Games would have been great, I agree, but I also agree that it needs to built up more. Maybe they can do it at Survivor Series, but I won't hold my breath.

It's just going to a Survivor Series tag elimination match as the sequel to this sunday's match. There's little chance at all of resurecting war games, and I'm happier with that anyway.

Wargames just wouldn't work for WWE. Look at the WWE's rings, they're huge for a ring. For Wargames, you need the 2 ring format and that would cut into a good deal of potential ticket sale revenue. A floor seat for a pay per view can range from $50-$200, so less floor seats available = less cashflow. They could make the rings smaller, but then the entire roster would have to adapt to a smaller ring for one day just for one gimmick match. Plus you have to factor in the extra materials that would need to be bought to construct a 2 ring cage and the cost of transporting another ring to the arena. You wouldn't want to waste a match like that on a Raw either. It would have to be on a pay per view or it would be a huge waste of money. It would be nice, but if you look at the other side of the coin, it's more trouble than what it's worth. If they wanted to do a 4 on 4 Hell in a cell though, I don't see why not.

Good point Hulkster. Even if Vince considers the Wargames to be a great idea, the double ring takes alot of prime seats away.

 

Here's a solution:

 

Use the "Hell in the Cell", but apply Wargames rules. Sure, it takes away from the mystique of the closed-in double ring, but the "face-heel to start, followed by a new wrestler at each interval" idea they keep will still be a great gimmick to build upon.

 

Imagine, 4 on 3, Anti-Americans at a HUGE advantage....BOOM! Kane comes in last, and all the heels start an all-out assault to take him down.

Sure, the fans would ultimately need a cell-roof spot, but that could be taken care of...

WCW knows that problem and found and easy solution. Only do the match at Big stadiums. So you can have a small asile way and room for two rings. Besides anyways. there hasn't been a GOOD Wargames match since 1992. THe rest have either sucked, ok, sucked, sucked, ok, sucked, sucked, sucked, sucked. In that order. Wargames could be done but it won't because it is a Dusty Rhodes Idea that WCW used and Vince is above any matches from Dusty(except for his cop out finishes, he was use them to his dying days).

That's why I proposed an original idea to have HITC with Wargames' old-school rules. Sure, it borrows from each idea, but hell, remember World War 3?

 

Allow Vince to stroke his ego and come up with this new modification of Wargames, claiming it all to his own.

i think HIAC would be a given if they did wargames, if the guy hired ERIC FUCKING BISCHOFF for reasons other than to mke sure he had a bigger dick than him i'm sure he could bring himself to steal a wcw gimmick match. Agreed they'd never do the two rings though.

yeah i never want to see the triple cage ever again. If you want something from wcw vince would die before lifting, that's it. And thank god. I mean the match was okish but setting up tables on a mesh floor is just one example of how little they really thought it through.

I agree that the Triple Cage was awesome. However, shouldn't that be saved for a match for a title so that they can grab the belt at the top. That was the goal of the match.
