LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2002 I just rewatched last night's episode and Giles sat down twice and leaned on the kitchen counter once so I don't think it's the First. I like the idea of it being a ghost Giles. And technically didn't the First show itself to more than one person at once in "Conversations..."?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 19, 2002 But as someone said the fake Spike sat down in previous eps too. Giles be dead! At least that's what I say.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted December 19, 2002 I think regardless of him sitting down or not, what's important is the lack of interaction with stuff that would affect the Scoobies. He never touched them, nor did he pick anything up and transition it to them, nothing like that. Rewatched Never Leave Me today, after successful Kazaa download. Didn't like the ep that much first time, loved it this time. Huzzah for season 7.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 19, 2002 On the 31st they're playing Grave and Two To Go... After that I think Once More With Feeling is the only season 6 ep that they're going to play on UPN, after they play that one they'll go to FX. No new eop till Jan 7th
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2002 I'm still not sure what to think about Joyce. I know that the messages she and Giles send Buffy are mixed but is that to mean that one side is right and the other side is that of the First or is it all the First trying to confuse her. Maybe it's just me, but I'm leaning toward believing Joyce in "Conversations..." as opposed to her appearance the other night. Yeah, I'm over analyzing. I'll be in my corner of solitude if anyone needs me.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 19, 2002 Still, when it comes to Buffy, Joyce has only appeared while Buffy was sleeping...so that might be different somehow.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2002 I just watched "The Freshman" episode on FX and does anyone else find it disturbing that Buffy made a joke about her mom having an aneurysm. And the whole 7:30 thing about Dawn's arrival was mentioned as far back as "Grad. Day Part 2"?
Guest Vyce Report post Posted December 20, 2002 I think you're right. That was the worst beating Buffy ever took. She looked messed up at the end of the episode. I think the bruises made her look hot, but that's just my personal issues shining through. Pretty good episode. The bad thing about being a wrestling fan for so long is that I think I, like some of you, are SO conditioned for a swerve in the plotlines that I don't know WHAT the hell to make of this Giles thing. On the one hand, it certainly seems as if Joss WANTS us to think Giles is really dead and that the First is impersonating him. But is this reverse psychology? Is the swerve coming, where we find out that Giles is really alive? I don't know. I WANT Giles to be alive. I know some here theorized about the sitting down fact....I thought the rule was, though, that the First just couldn't touch anyone. Technically it's not-corporeal, so it can't touch anything, but sitting down doesn't necessarily mean anything - since it's largely a smoke-and-mirrors creature anyway, it could give the illusion of sitting down without actually touching the object. But should someone try and touch it, they would realize the illusion. All I can say is, the biggest evidence that I saw that it may not be Giles was VERY subtle. It was right after Buffy opens the door and Giles is there. For those who have the episode saved, watch that segment again. She's happy to see him, and moves to touch him - to hug him, I suppose - and he makes this slight face, and turns away slightly. Then one of the Slayers-in-training moves in front of him and blocks the path. Now, it could be explained away that Giles is just shy of the affection....but for me, that subtle gesture got me thinking, "Oh shit, he may really be dead." BTW, one final thought: the non-dead British slayer-in-training? Totally batcherific.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2002 The Slayer in training with the pigtails was pretty cute. I'm going to just wait it out and see what happens.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 20, 2002 The Slayer in training with the pigtails was pretty cute. I can agree with that. With The First being the big mother f'n bad this year is there any room for their regular comedy episodes?
Guest Cavi Report post Posted December 20, 2002 I just watched "The Freshman" episode on FX and does anyone else find it disturbing that Buffy made a joke about her mom having an aneurysm. Yep, I took note of that when they first aired the episode on FX last year.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2002 Hey Cavi.......where's the screen caps of "Bring on the Night" for your sig pic? They got the comedy episodes out of the way early this year with "Him" and somewhat on "Selfless"
Guest Cavi Report post Posted December 20, 2002 They will be forthcoming in a few days. With no new episode for a while, I thought I would do something different for a change.
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted December 21, 2002 I'm still holding off that the Big Bad will be Xander.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2002 Naw Xander's got the good life now. He's making great money. Driving a good car. He's finally on speaking and freindly terms with Anya. For him to get all bitter and bitchy would be odd.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Naw Xander's got the good life now. He's making great money. Driving a good car. He's finally on speaking and freindly terms with Anya. For him to get all bitter and bitchy would be odd. So everything's going great for Xander....that means he could die soon
Guest Mole Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Out of all the characters on Buffy, Xander has had the most character growth.

Guest Sakura Report post Posted December 23, 2002 I just watched "The Freshman" episode on FX and does anyone else find it disturbing that Buffy made a joke about her mom having an aneurysm. Yep, I took note of that when they first aired the episode on FX last year. Yay! I can go in this thread now! I caught it too. I was going to bring it up with you but I forgot. Pretty weird. And if Xander turns heel and/or dies, I will assissinate Joss.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2002 Sweet they showed "Amends" on FX today. I guess it was because of Christmas since FX has been showing Season 4 lately, but why did they show "Into the Woods" after that?
Guest Cavi Report post Posted December 24, 2002 I assume because they didn't show it during the last chronological run of episodes for some odd reason.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 24, 2002 I thought they were going to show them a way where they would have all of the season 6 episodes ready to go. Last Friday I thought they showed "The Weight of the World" They're probably just killing time till they can get all the season 6 eps when UPN is done with them
Guest Ripper Report post Posted December 25, 2002 All of the men in the show are carrying a mark of death this season. One or two of them will die. I still think that Giles has already bit the big one and Xander is REALLY having this " I', gonna die vibe".

Guest Max Danger Report post Posted December 30, 2002 (Just bumping it really.) Does anyone know with UPN will show "Once More With Feeling" again? I know the last two episodes of Season Six are to be shown on New Year's Eve. And I believe OMWF is the final show UPN has to air before all of Season Six moves over to FX. So, anyone know? Guest Mole Report post Posted December 30, 2002 PREVIEW FOR 1/7/02 *SPOILER* Buffy struggles to protect potential Slayers from assassination by the Ubervamp while Giles and Anya petition a creature for information about the First. That looks interesting. Another episode to continue one of the best seasons of Buffy. Is anyone excited the fact that there is a new Buffy, on the same day that Buff season 3 comes out? Well, if you are going to get it that is...?
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2002 I'm def hitting Wal-Mart on the 7th inbetween classes. Yeah, that's right, my college starts back up on the 6th. Gotta love the short high school-like Christmas breaks...
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted December 30, 2002 Oh, Cawthon, at least you don't start on the 2nd. Yes, the 2nd. SFU = Evil. Anyways, I definately want to pick up Season 3 as soon as it comes out. Anyone know how much it will be Canadian?

Anyways, I definately want to pick up Season 3 as soon as it comes out. Anyone know how much it will be Canadian? Well, I got my season 2 set at Sams Club for about $38, it was on sale most places when it first came out at about $40. And the Canadian dollar is worth about a dime in the US...so you're looking at about $380, plus tax I don't know the exchange rate
