I really enjoyed that episode. About the only thing I didn't like was the fact that the woman who played Wood's mother (as The First) was not the same actress used in Fool For Love. Oh well, they probably couldn't get that person back for some reason or another.

Well, as I limp back into the forum after months of the most shit-tacular ass kicking that life has ever given me, at least I get to comment about the show.

 

1: Ashanti gets decapatated

2: Asian slayer is hilarious

3: Wood vs Spike

4: Giles little drawings "Hush" style.

 

 

What was there not to love in this episode? Since I wasn't here for the last few eps, let me catch up.

 

1: I knew that skinny girl was a SIT as soon as I saw her at the beganing of the episode and it calmed all my Dawn as a slayer worries.

2: Spike/Buffy interaction just kicks too much ass now....although I do wish that spike could go on ONE more incoherent diatribe before the season ends.

3: I am Happy Giles isn't dead, but that was BULL FREAKIN SHIOT. No way he got to that ax.

4: AMY!!!!!!

Giles' little pictures were hilarious - especially since I downloaded "Hush" just earlier today.

 

Amanda (nerd SiT) looks a lot better without glasses. She was also in "Help Me" from earlier this season ... not sure if anyone caught that (the one where Cassie died).

 

Andrew rules the school. If there is a spin-off, he MUST be in it. "Ah, Capt. Archer..." I was really hoping the First / Jonathan didn't make Andrew do anything bad and thus make him be killed by the Scoobies.

 

I also caught the fact that the previous slayer was not the same actress. In a very nerdish manner, I scoffed at my TV. But hey ... Spike killed the Principal's mommy ... can you smell the drama? Maybe Spike should tell him she "begged for her life".

 

Asian SiT has comedic appeal ... but we all know she'll be the first to die when Armageddon comes to Sunnydale (the non-Jerry Bruckheimer-produced one).

And I loved the ep. The comedy between Giles and the asian SiT was great, and Andrew was gold. Xander was pretty funny too. "Ok, Willow, Gay me up!"

I really dug the ending of the episode when Wood (who kicks ass btw) finds out that Spike killed his mother. He sold that moment brilliantly.

 

Also...Andrew is AWESOME. And Giles as well. And I really liked how Buffy told Spike she wasn't ready for him to be gone. Basically...Buffy is the best show on my TV.

Wood remarked when he saw that Spike was a vamp, yet wouldn't he have known that when he looked in his rear view mirror when Spike was in the backseat of his car, what with vamps having no reflection and all?

Very good episode.

 

Love the Chinese slayer. But they got to stop having them appear and disappear like that. First it was Chloe, then the rest of them this episode. It looks as if next week, we'll see all of them getting training or something.

 

I liked Woods "origin", even though it was somewhat "Blade-ish", because it does all tie in nicely with continuity.

 

Andrew was great as well. The Captain Archer comment, for some reason, floored me. I was rolling on the floor at that one. Maybe I'm just a Trek geek deep down.

Yeah, he was only 4 when she died, so I don't think he would remember what Spike looked like.

I don't see Andrew as gay. I see him as being more bisexual. He was attracted to Warren but has also shown signs of being into women. And where exactly is his brother Tucker? We haven't seen him since season three. It's not like Buffy could have sent him to jail or anything. Perhaps he was eaten by some rogue demon he summoned. I especially liked the part where Andrew mentioned going through Buffy's underwear droor.

A Buffy-less "Buffy"? Have Faith

Sunnydale's gotta have Faith.

 

After all, someone needs to stand guard over the Hellmouth if the city's original slayer, Buffy Summers, decides to call it a day.

 

A possible Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff with the runner-up slayer was the gist of a recent Sci-Fi Wire interview with Christopher Buchanan, president of Mutant Enemy, which produces Buffy and Angel, published on Friday.

 

While nothing's been signed in blood, the production prez confirmed the company was in talks with former regular Eliza Dushku to reprise her role as rogue slayer Faith in the untitled spinoff, saying, "I believe that's something that's being bounced around, along with other things, too."

 

Meanwhile, E! Online's TV maven Kristin confirmed this week that Dushku, who left the series to pursue a movie career (The New Guy anyone?), is currently shooting crossover guests spots for Angel and Buffy this season. Faith will appear in Hell-Ay opposite Angelus on the WB March 5, 12 and 19. She then makes the trek over to Sunnydale for a rumored five-episode run, though the UPN wouldn't spill the details.

 

However, a Web rumor that had Dushku signed to a two-year contract may be premature according to Buchanan. "Certainly, because she's around doing Buffy and Angel, I know there've been discussions," said the Mutant Enemy pres, adding, "We're kind of sitting on our hands until UPN and Fox figure out what they want to do."

 

In fact, announcing the potential Dushku deal may be premature according to a source close to production, who said, "I don't know why Chris Buchanan would be talking about Eliza and a spinoff...it's something that was actually never viable. Maybe they're hoping that by saying it that will make it true?"

 

Chosen One Sarah Michelle Gellar, who's put in seven seasons of blood, sweat and more bloodshedding, is not expected to return after her contract expires at the end of this season. She'll reportedly concentrate on her movie career (Scooby-Doo anyone?). Original reports had creator Joss Whedon handing the stake over to Buffy's little sis, Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg).

 

More recently, E! Online's Kristin reported news of a Faith-based spinoff after a visit to the set of Angel. When asked about her plans next year Dushku said, "Each year, I say I'm going to go to school next year. And it's inevitable that I'll end up getting my education. But I love working--I'm a worker bee at heart. I love coming here. It's such a stimulus."

 

Dushku joined Buffy and friends in the third season. Together, the double-the-trouble slayers staked their way through Sunnydale's finest bloodsuckers until Faith accidentally killed the town's mortal deputy-mayor and joined the dark side. Faith would later repent but never rejoin the series.

 

The third season also marked Buffy's bloody graduation from high school and the spawning of spinoff series Angel, now in its fourth season on the WB. Buffy moved to the UPN after its fifth season in 2001.

 

Fans of the unrequited lovers separated by destiny and networks will get a chance to see some more crossover action this season as Alyson Hannigan returns to the WB March 19 for a special Angel episode. The move has fueled a rumor that rival netlets UPN and the WB are finally ready to bury their stakes and allow Buffy's undead dreamboy Angel to make an appearance on what could be the series' final episode in May.
