Because nothing says money like HHH having horrible parents!

And Booker T, and The Rock, and Kurt Angle, and Brock Lesnar, and the Hurricane, and....

I've got an idea, Vince should hire Joss. If he did so, WWE would be making so much fuckin money it isn't even funny.

Yes, it would be interesting to see Vince after he's cursed with a soul.

Brock Lesnar is the key but Kurt Angle sacrifices himself instead.

WWE having decent writers from anywhere would be nice, in that their problem is boring, non-sensical storylines with very little continuity.

The thing is, if they starting doing long arching story-arcs or something, they could easily get fucked over by injuries. I think that's why WWE will never get to the level that a show like Buffy is at...it's not like Sarah Michelle Gellar can get a torn ACL at a house show, you know?

Yeah and a lot of wrestling fans have short attention spans.

So nevermind, don't hire Joss.

Booker: "I wish that damn Triple H never came to the WWE"

Molly (suddenly in full Vengeance Demon makeup & scary voice): "Donnnnnnnne"

(cut to commercial)

When they come back, Jericho is champ, everything is different, and no mention of Triple H is ever made again.

Though I agree that when WWE hires new creative staff, they should bring in more drama-oriented writers (instead of sitcom writers), hiring Joss to write Buffy-style storylines for wrestling would be overkill, IMO. Long, complex storylines with deep characterization & layers of symbolism would be wasted in WWE. What works for Buffy wouldn't necessarily work for wrestling, which has drawn money from relatively simple morality plays. My favorite wrestling angles are all based on pretty simple themes: Man fights authority figures who try to control him (Austin vs. McMahon). Or man who has it all (the WWF title, Elizabeth, fan support, friendship with Hogan) loses all of it due to his own jealousy & failings (Savage's first title reign). Or former champion tries to regain his glory, only to find that the world has passed him by, so he turns heel (Backlund & Bret's heel runs).

Not to say that Joss wouldn't be good at this, but they don't need to resort to hiring an Oscar-nominated writer to come up with good wrestling storylines. Just a fairly competent one. Plus, would we really want to see our favorite TV show creator taking orders from Vince, and worse, Trips?

I finally watched 'Hush' in its full today, and I must say this was an fantastic episode. Of course with Joss writing, it was great and a few funny bits written all over it.

The ending was great too with Riley and Buffy just sitting on the beds, and we have to talk. Nothing was said, which summed up the episode.

I'm liking Season 1 so far. Did anyone catch Xander's "railroad SPIKE" joke in "The Witch"? Don't you just love foreshadowing?

Were there never "previously on..." segments during Season 1??

I have a question. If it was Amy's mother that was the witch then how or when did Amy become one?

Well, it's not like the opportunity wasn't there right in front of her.

Kind of the same way that Tara became a witch, watching her mother do stuff she just went along with it.

As we all know, she took it to the extreme and got addicted. However, this past season we noticed she got over that, I think.

Was Amy's mom still trapped in the cheerleader trophy when the school blew up? That could have released her and they could bring her character back.

I always wondered about this and I assumed that she was destroyed on Graduation Day. Poor Amy's Mom. :( Yeah, she was an overly-controlling mom, and she nearly killed Buffy, but it kinda sucks to be stuck in a trophy for 2 1/2 years, then get blown up in an explosion. I think all she needed was some therapy to get over her stupid high school glory years.

Season 1 seems to get bashed a lot...not necessarily here, but on other boards I've visited. One guy even called it "unwatchable". I love it. Yeah, it's mostly made up of MOTW eps, and it doesn't have the fully developed mythology & long arcs of later seasons. But the characters even back then had great chemistry, the writing was very funny, and a lot of major high school/teenager themes were there: loneliness, responsibility, changing your personality to fit in with the "cool" crowd, more loneliness, etc. And it was all done through cool metaphors like witches and evil hyena people, not in a preachy Afterschool Special way. Plus, there's just something innocent & nice about the original Scoobys and their old group dynamic, before all the other things in their lives happened. Season 1 kicks ass!

I do wish that Darla had stuck around longer, though.

It was only 13 episodes too, so only so much could be shown.

On a side note, Eliza Dushku was on Dave tonight. I know this was an old one, but she was banging, and that's all I gotta say about that.

No new ep till 4/15.

I liked season 1. They had to rush things a little, but still impressive for a show no one thought would go past 6 episodes. I got love for season 1.

That's true.

There's actually a great scene at the beginning of a Season 2 (or 3) ep where Oz is staring at the trophy, Willow walks over, and he says he feels like the trophy is following him with its eyes. Continuity rules!

I'm glad that Buffy does that. Where the show will refrence something from earlier seasons. Cause if nothing else it's just something a little extra for marks like me who watch non stop.

Faith got chubby.

I can live with that...I thought she looked way better in Buffy season 3 then in any of her recient movies. She looks better filled out then skinny

Well I watched her on Angel and she did nothing at all for me. She got too chubby in all the wrong places I guess would be more accurate.

Yeah, Sarah got much too small for my liking. I mean, she's never looked terrible or anything, but the earlier Buffy was much hotter.

As for Faith, I've got no problems with her. I'd still marry her and father all her children.

Part of me is happy the show is ending if only because Willow's getting ugly, SMG is starting to look scary and Anya is moments away from colliding with the wall.
