But _what if_ Spike doesn't go on Angel... will you have delayed sadness?

Yeah, he probably signed the deal just to collect the check, he won't be on the show. :D

The show was full of warm little moments like the Harvest throwback. I went "awww" several times. A good indicator of classily manipulative Joss writing.

Funny that both of Joss' episodes this year revolve chiefly around Sunnydale High...guess he liked writing it that much, eh?

Man, the scene with Wood and Faith had me on the floor. I marked out for Wood giving her the double thumbs up.

The best two seasons (2 and 3) revolved around the school...maybe he thought it was a safety net.

I remember reading going into this year that the guy who played the Master and the guy who played Mayor were signed on to do this season...

and they did...just not in the way that you'd think...like they never "returned"

So maybe Spike's just doing flashbacks to the old days with Angel and Darla and Drusilla.

No, he signed on to be a regular. There was this big hubbub at one of the conventions where he said he wasn't going to be able to be a regular(do to the studio only having so much to spend on regulars) unless someone was taken off. He said he only wanted to do it if he was a regular.

Of course, Connor is off(which James knew, I'm sure, just didn't want to give it away). And also because...

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

Charisma isn't going to be a regular on Angel.

You know, I wouldn't mind that a bit. An entire retro season of Angel, taking place in the early 20th century.

I doubt Charisma Carpenter and Amy Acker and everyone would be too keen on it, though...

I like Conner being gone, good sendoff.

Cordy should have gotten a proper sendoff.

And with Spike I'll just go along with it. I'm not saying it can't be good, I'm just sayin...well, you know what I'm saying.

I think the reason Angel is doing a re-do this season is to get all the Buffy fans/hanger-ons transitioned as easy as possible... and lord knows getting them caught up on the whole Connor deal would have been nearly impossible..

As for my feelings on the finale. I've gotta got mixed emotions.

Andrew telling Xander about Anya's death(which was, like people said, brutal - those damn Bringer knives are sharp, eh?) was very touching.

Just about everything was wrapped up. I, like some of you, am a bit torn with the Spike thing. Great way to end his story. But, it'll cheapen it when he goes to Angel.

I just don't know how I feel about it yet. Kinda depends on how he comes back.

And someone, at some point, questioned why the SITs were able to fight as soon as they got their powers. Well, Buffy was. And, hell, Vampires do the moment they're changed. So, really, not a problem at all.

I think I'm going to go watch it again...

Damn I never thought about it that way. That's quite interesting.

Season 4 could be summed up as Buffy moving on to college and falling in and out of love.

Maybe his essense (sp?) was held up in the amulet? But then how would the amulet make it to L.A.?

I don't know.

I trust it will work out...why?

Spike is a vampire: Spike is cool and funny

Spike gets a chip in his head: Spike is cool and funny

Spike has a chip and falls in love with Buffy: Spike is cool and funny

Spike gets a soul: Spike is cool and funny.

It seems impossible to kill the greatness that is Spike. By know he should be a joke...but NOTHING (even death) can stop him!

Season 4 would be "Buffy gets extended power to defeat badguy"... but there is no season 8 to verify that.

Watching the Top 10 Buffy Eps. on Space yest. I realized something very important... Spike fucking rules... I knew it before, but it really put it all in perspective... Spike is, for my money, the best character created in the Buffyverse. I dare say he is greater than the beast....

I'm guessing Spike is the Shanshu.

Well if that happens then it will come to be on Angel so that clears up the problem of it happening on Buffy after being foreshadowed on Angel.

It's funny how Spike became so vital.

Season 2- one of the big Bads, who made a deal with the Slayer to get his girl (Dru) back.

Season 3- One ep, lovesick, wants to use Willow to make Dru love him again.

Season 4- Chipped, and made a (reluctant) memeber of the gang

Season 5- starts to fall for Buffy

Seson 6 Falls hard for Buffy, narly rapes her, then goes to get his soul back for her.

Season 7- sacrifices himself to save everybody else, proves he is a true memeber of the gang.

Funy how all of these basically one-shot people (Spike, Ayna, and to a lesser extent Jonathan and Andrew) became majore players in Buffy.

Heh. Imagine how pissed Angel will be if he finds out Spike is the Shansu?

I don't care about the ending of this show. Spike and Angel interacting every Wednesday for my amusement would be gold.

Oh, and Angel saying "I did it first" had me in laffin pretty hard...

Xander and Andrew still need to carry on and do the sitcom... the spirit of Anya can live on in Andrew...

OK first I'm all for Spike coming back. Yes I know he got the emotional sendoff but his greatness must continue. They even covered why he wouldn't find Buffy, since he realizes that Buffy may love him, but isn't IN LOVE with him, if you get my meaning.

Now, how they could do it is such: The amulet is called by Angel an amulet of "cleansing" or something about that (never knew for certain, although I liked "amulet of scrubbing bubbles"). It required an ensoulled entity that was more than human. Now, what if the amulet cleanses demonic influences from physical bodies? Since Spike had a soul (a meta-vapire, if you will) the amulet would burn away the physical vampire body, leaving only the spark of humanity imparted on him by a soul. The uber vamps, being pure vampire, would be dusted.

Spike himself said once the amulet activated, he could feel his soul. Maybe the amulet interacted with his soul and protected it somehow when the cavern collapsed. This would leave Spike with only his human side. He figures that what is best for him and Buffy is to stay away and continue the fight against evil. Ta da, he shows up on Angel.

Then again, maybe I'm overanalyzing and should just wait and see what happens.

Interesting how one of Joss' ideas for the end of Season Five (Sunnydale being sucked into the Hellmouth) came to fruition. Maybe he had that idea all along for years, as I remember last fall he said he already had the final scene of this season written.

I'd guess it's how he wanted the show to end.

Even if all the potentials hadn't been activated (thus making Buffy more ordinary) they could have blown up Sunnydale and ended the show.

Then the Buffy series would have just been Buffy's time in Sunnydale. She did things before and after she was in Sunnydale...but that's not what the show was about.

Actually...I guess they did that anyway.
