Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 7

Well, I started watching BUffy in the middle of Season 6... I caught most of season 3 on FX, but it was tough for me to catch the shows on FX since I always forgot about them or I was at home... where we didn't get FX... Basically, I didn't want to catch random episodes and not know the backstory or have a crucial point ruined for me without knowing anything else. I know I'll be kicking myself in the ass, but Im at least making it worth my time.

Are you serious Fazzle?? Wow I thought most people liked Season 5. You can say that Glory didn't do much till late in the season, but boring? I thought her and her minions could be pretty funny.

 

Plus she somewhat was responsible for the death of a Slayer...in a way.

I've never thought Glory was overrated...simply because I never saw a lot of people dig her that much. She's one of my favorites, though. I put her at a strong #3 on the Big Bads list.

 

Season 5 might be my favorite. I don't know. It's got a few downs, but a ton of ups, and probably tells the most complex set of stories the show set out to achieve in one year.

Every episode from season 5 I've seen, which is about 6 of them, I've liked every episode.

Are you serious Fazzle?? Wow I thought most people liked Season 5. You can say that Glory didn't do much till late in the season, but boring? I thought her and her minions could be pretty funny.

 

Plus she somewhat was responsible for the death of a Slayer...in a way.

There isn't a single season 5 episode that I would make any effort to watch again. They're all just so blah. Nothing TOO horribly bad(except the winnebago episode, and Fake the Snake, oh and Weight of the World. I might have to retract that previous statement. Oh yeah, also the one with the cockroach from space.) but nothing good either. Glory didn't do shit, and the only somewhat enjoyable minion was Jinx, and he was replaced for some reason. I don't remember him dying, he just left.

Some disappointing news today. Moore Action Collectibles has cancelled their line of Buffy and Angel figures because they weren't turning enough profit on them. This especially sucks because the newer figures coming out, especially the Dark Willow one, looked really good.

 

I have, and always will like Season Five a great deal.

Wait...you wouldn't like seeing "The Body" or "The Gift" again?

 

The only episode I didn't like from Season 5 was "Listening to Fear" that Quellar Demon thing was a dumb idea because of the fact that it was from outer space! What the hell??

 

And what's the Winnebago episode??? Weight of the World was a good episode because it fit right in the thick of the end of the season. And the only problem with the episode with the snake was the CGI, the rest was good.

And Fool For Love is season 5's best. Great episode with Spike telling the story of the Slayers he's killed.

I agree. That demon is just too X-Files-ish or something. I really like the scene when Buffy breaks down while doing the dishes though. The radio is playing this happy, cheerful music while it happens. Cool juxtaposition. I think it rules.

Nope, to me The Body is a one shot episode, after the shock factor wears off..there just isn't a whole lot. While The Gift would have been great to watch over and over again...during the offseason of 5 and 6. After finding out what craptacular stories it spawned in season 6, I just can't really enjoy it.

 

And what's the Winnebago episode???

 

The one right before WOTW, where they decide to run from Glory, and the Knights of Blahblahblahtium chase them. I forget what the actual episode name is.

Ew, Family. That's another one I have to put on the crappy season 5 episode list. It keeps getting longer.

 

I'm starting to wonder if they're all gonna end up on the list. (Minus The Body and The Gift, which, like I said before, aren't ones I'd make efforts to see again, but don't go on the list because they're passable.)

"Family" is probably my least favorite Joss Whedon written episode, though I will admit that I've only seen it once. I had seen only about half of season 4 before I saw season 5, so I wasn't too invested in Tara.

 

I'll probably like it better now that I've got so much more Buffy under my belt, but it seemed to lack a lot of the charm and sizzle of a usual Joss episode. Tara's family were the perfect example of one of the things that usually makes for a bad Buffy episode: the introduction of a bunch of regular human characters who'll only be around for this episode and are pretty much purely functional. (See: "Doublemeat Palace," "Gone.")

Actually, this thread is more about Buffy in general than season 7. But Buffy is so good, we just can't get over it.
