Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 7

You'd think someone would start to get suspicious with all the bodies that have to be picked up from Buffy's house.

Joyce, Tara, and The ambulance had to pick up Buffy when she was shot.

Yeah, and the fact that she was a suspect in Kendra's death doesn't help matters.

True, but to play the devil's advocate:

Joyce had previous health problems and had major surgery.

Tara was shot at the same time as Buffy, by the same gun.

antbody else picked up? and where did Buffy bury the potentials that died?

I imagine she kept them in a meat locker in the basement, and then when the town colapsed on itself I guess it didn't matter.

Well, lets see. Buffy was a suspect in two murders, has been put in the hospital with a broken arm and the flu, and a mysterious wound on her neck. Her mother died in the living room (who had been in the hospital before after "falling on a fork or something"(although that would actually make sense now with her blacking out due to the tumor...FORESHADOWING!!!!)) . Another friend of hers went crazy only to be killed at her home later. Another friend was nearly killed when a bookshelf fell on her head...this old guy thats always there with her had a dead woman found at his home and came in with a stab wound in his stomach. Her Ex-boyfriend had a ridiculously over active heartbeat, her other friend came in with a missing eye, and she came to visit a girl that had been beaten up in the school basement, a little boy beaten by a little league coach, and a girl with a stab wound in her stomach and a burn on her neck that had been thrown from a car. Another girl came from her house with a broken arm and she brought in a couple of young girls with the one eyed guy...well...thats about it I guess.

I mean, that should raise a eyebrow from SOMEBODY..

Maybe the Sunnydale people are so jaded by what they see all the time that they write it off as "normal"

This is sort of off topic, but my friend Nick is from England. We were talking about Buffy, and he was trying to tell me that Spike has an Australian(sp?) accent, not an English one.

What do you think?

Haha, that reminded me of that Simpsons episode where Homer lists off all the jobs he's done during the series and he goes on for like 30 seconds.

I actually can't wait for the Season 6 finale since I missed most of it the first time around.

I think most people wouldn't know the difference.

Isn't the idea that everyone sort of knows what's going on, but they just try and brush it off?

Like, by the end of season 3, everyone basically knew that Buffy was some kind of superhero...hence her little award at the prom ep.

It makes sense...it's a lot easier to pretend that monsters don't exist.

don't forget the guy that got stabbed in the episode where they couldn't leave the house. And what about her grave? What did they do with that?

Yeah, that has been the whole thing about Sunnydale. "People tend to forget what they don't want to believe" as Joss once put it.

I think they touch on that in one of the earlier seasons...

So does FX go back to season 1 now?

I can't wait till I get back to college, where I actually get FX. It might be the only channel I watch up there, and potentially the only one I need. There's something extra-satisfying about coming across an episode of a show this caliber while flipping through.

I've actually started watching the whole series again anyway... I'm on the second disk of Season 2... I wonder if f/x is going to catch me :)

I was watching the first eps. the other day, and I must say, it ages quite well.

From here on I'll probably just try and catch a few random episodes. Season one's not one I need to sit through as a whole again.

I think they did well with what they had to do in Season 1. 12 episodes to introduce the main characters and hit main plot points of the entire series. Doesn't give you a lot to work with, but hey... I think they did alright with it. And after watching Prophecy Girl... I thought that whole concept would have been GREAT as a series finale. That's not to say what they did wasn't great, because it was... but the whole concept of the Slayer HAVING to die because it was written as so seems so... grand finaleish...

Oh well

The only episodes I think anyone really *needs* to see in the first season are the two part opener, "Angel," and "Prophecy Girl." Those are the big ones, and I think even a new viewer could watch those, jump into season 2, and be pretty much good to go from there on out.

"Welcome to the Hellmouth/The Harvest", "Angel", "I Robot, You Jane" ONLY for the introduction of the Ms. Calendar character and "Prophecy Girl" are truly needed.

"The Pack" and "Never Kill A Boy on the First Date" are also two that I'd watch to get an overall feel of the show.

I'd take "Never Kill A Boy On The First Date" over robot cause it introduced the Annointed One's storyline.

But The Anointed One does JACK SHIT in the first season, where as Ms. Calendar is made part of the gang and is the catalyst for Willow turning into a witch. Her intro is much more important, IMO.

See, I think you get enough of Jenny Calendar in "Prophecy Girl"...but I can definitely see the allure in having her whole character. Same thing with the Anointed One.

"Nightmares," while a bit afterschool special-y, is also fun, and has the great Giles-as-loving-father-figure moment when they we realize that Buffy's grave isn't her nightmare, but his.

But in "Prophecy Girl", Jenny doesn't do much. She's just there and ends up in the middle of the fray.

In "I Robot, You Jane", she goes into her Wicca roots and talks about demons and all that...you feel like she belongs with the group instead of a tag-along.

I watched all of season 1 again with some people who have never seen it, and the season is pretty bad. I let it slide because the writers were getting into their groove, and it came through in season 2 with the Angelus storyline.
