Well, Hush is generally regarded as one of the best episodes ever. Top 5 material for sure. If you want consistent goodness, watch seasons 2 and 3.

Who the hell are you?

Not sure yet.

Mole...I use to know a poster by that name.

That was the best episode ever (arguably)

However, it had far more to do with the rest of the season than just a one time gimmick.

The episode is "Hush" from season 4. The episode was all about communication, and how people couldn't communicate until they had no voice.

Buffy was hiding that she was the slayer from her boyfriend, who in turn was hiding that he was a part of the Initiative from her.

They both find out in this episode and at the end, when voices are returned...still can't communicate about it.

But hey, if you have a heart the end of season 2 where Angel loses his soul is epic TV too.

As are many many moments in the series.

Hush is a lock for my top 5...but I still put Passion as my #1. But my list is always changing.

I am suddenly far less interested in the Buffy episode as I am in any possible explanation for Bps' signature.

Is that the dude from the Last Dragon? Sho Nuff? (might not be the right name)

I wonder if "Hush" will take top honors in the Buffy FX Marathon for the third straight year this coming fall. I tend to think it will.

I took it from IGN.

They started a campaign to get people to buy Eternal Darkness (since you should, dammit) and they put that pic up.

I thought it was funny.

Either Hush or Once More With Feeling will take the top spot.

Eternal Darkness is pretty cool. I love when you guy freaks out and then ridiculous shit starts happening for no reason. I don't remember Sho' Nuff in it though.

As for my original question: DOH! Now if I watch any episode of Buffy ever I'll think "eh...mute zombie doctors was cooler". Ah well.

The good thing about Buffy is that all the episodes have something redeeming about them(A character's gestures, lines, storyline related, etc.). Yeah, The Gentlemen are up there as my favorite Buffy villians.

No because there are still awesome episodes like: The Body, Becoming 1 & 2, Passion, The Wish, Dopplegangland, Tabula Rasa, Something Blue, Restless, The Gift, aw heck when Thanksgiving rolls around just watch the Buffy marathon for the 10 best Buffy episodes.

If you watch seasons all the way through from the beginning then things will make sense because Buffy is full of continuity and foreshadowing.

"The Wish" is my favorite episode, and that will never change. I like "Hush" but I like a lot more episodes than it.

Do we need to bring back the Buffy List? I forgot what I even said.

I've seen The Wish too many times...might have fallen out of my top 10.

you fucking rule!!! :headbang: Although I always have trouble with my #1 as "The Wish" and "Doppelgangland" are always interchanging. I find Doppelgangland more quotable but enjoy The Wish more overall....arrgghhh.

The Wish was one of the first Buffy eps I ever saw, so it holds a special place with me. And licky vamp Willow...that's just great

I'm so sorry to go off topic, but I could say the same thing about Misawa/Kawada 6/3/94.

Hell, 6/3/94 isn't even the best match of all time(maybe top 5 but that's very debatable, some can even argue that Toyota/Kong was the best match of 94) , and if by watching that, Smell the Ratings can't enjoy the hunderds of MOTYC that All Japan, New Japan, UWFi, Rings...etc. produced, than that is just plain sad. Kobashi/Hansen, Lyger/Samurai..etc. is hardly shit when compared to 6/3/94.

The continuity and foreshadowing is the same for All Japan as well. Hell, in all his important matches, Kawada built and foreshadowed his demise at 12/3/93(another match that is arguably better than 6/3/94), kind of like a season finale on Buffy. Which now that I think of it, All Japan and Buffy at it's best make a good analogy.

Once again, I apologize, but I couldn't let "the rest is shit in comparison" comment go. That isn't true for All Japan, and it isn't true for Buffy.

And back on topic, "Hush" was incredible the first time I watched it, but upon a second viewing on the DVD, I don't know I just wasn't feeling it like I was feeling "Restless" or even "Wild at Heart" upon a second viewing. Still, I won't deny how brilliant it is, and I would place it as the best episode of Season 4.

I would have to agree with the guy who said "Passion" was the best episode ever, though. However, I find myself watching "The Zeppo" more than any other episode.

I have to watch "Passion" again, because I don't remember it being that good.

Anyway, I watched all of season 1 again, and it is defiently the worst season. I know they were just getting into the swing of things, but it still wasn't all that good.

What was the thing someone was saying about each season, and how they all have something in common?

Passion was incredible. I still say it is the absolute peak of how good the show could be without a gimmick (which isn't a put down on said gimmicks...they were all brilliant.

Angel is never more sadistic. Giles going after him...it's all too perfect.

Hmm....I am watching "Chosen" right now, so "Passion" will be next, right before my day off ends.

Posted

I think the scene with Angel watching Willow and Buffy as they get the call that Jenny is dead is absolutely amazing. The juxtaposition of Will and Buffy's sadness with Angel's evil happiness is incredible.

"Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love...the clarity of hatred...and the ecstasy of grief."

Easily one of my favorite scenes ever.

Passion is the shit my man! And I give season 1 a pass cause they only had 12 episodes to set and finish a story.

Deathwish Danny Williams, closet Buffy fan. Bomb-ass. Kudos on the episode choices, too.

"Hush" does lose a little of its mystique the more times you see it. Tis the problem with the episode being a bit gimmicky, I suppose. Getting through season four again, it's probably still my #1, but good god if I don't want to give the slot to "Restless" or "A New Man" now and then.

IGN Filmforce interviews Joss Whedon

It's 10 pages long, covers his entire life, how he got into the TV business, and ends with a few pages where he responds to some of the big questions we were asking all season. Definitely worth a read, and one of the best Buffy behind-the-scenes things I've come across.

"Passion" was amazing, one of my favorite episodes. I just didn't remember it since I only saw it once or twice.
