Guest TUS_02 Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Yup Season 1 is starting today. Are they going to add Season 7 on this swing through?
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 *bump* man posts don't show up in this thread more than any other I've been in.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 Yup Season 1 is starting today. Are they going to add Season 7 on this swing through? Depends on when this run through ends. I think they add Season 7 in December.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 9, 2003 Report Posted July 9, 2003 They'll probably promote season 7 before it airs. So you'll know ahead of time.
Guest Cavi Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Speaking of Jenny, I had *so* wished FE would have turned into her and taunted Giles this past season. As said earlier in this thread, they will probably start pimping Season Seven around the time of the Thanksgiving Marathon.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Is that when 6 went last year? I remember they aired Tabula Rasa and Smashed during the marathon, but can't recall if they'd started to show the season in sequence at that point.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Season 7 should be played in order since UPN won't be showing select reruns.
Guest Cavi Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Is that when 6 went last year? I remember they aired Tabula Rasa and Smashed during the marathon, but can't recall if they'd started to show the season in sequence at that point. Now that I think about it, I believe they already were showing Six at that point, and the two eps in the marathon were in the correct order with the rest of the ones from that season (though I know OMWF was not shown).
Guest TUS_02 Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Eh, we can deal with that when the time comes.... So..... Welcome to the Hellmouth and The Harvest. How about Xander's hair?
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 No they weren't showing season 6 yet during the marathon. I remember commercials during the marathon advertising Season 6 "starting soon" They showed all the episodes in the marathon in chronological order.
Guest Cavi Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Yeah, I was mistaken. The season had not started yet. Thinking back, I seem to recall they did the same thing for Season Four during the marathon in 2001.
Guest Mole Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 What episodes did they show for the marathon again?
Guest BorneAgain Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Speaking of Jenny, I had *so* wished FE would have turned into her and taunted Giles this past season. I would have liked to see the FE appear as Jesse to freak out Willow and Xander. I also would have loved to see it be in the form of the various Big Bads in front of the Scoobies, like turning into the Master to taunt Buffy or as Glory to scare Dawn.
Guest BorneAgain Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Hey, my first double post, alright!
Guest Ripper Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Yeah, Jesse could've been all "Dude, we knew each other since pre-school and I died and you were joking with the new girl the next day. Whaddup with that."
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 The list for 2002's marathon: Angel Halloween Becoming Part 1 Becoming Part 2 The Wish Doppelgangland Something Blue Hush Buffy vs. Dracula Fool For Love The Body The Gift Tabula Rasa Smashed Pretty solid, though I remember being surprised to see that "Buffy vs. Dracula" and "Halloween" had made it on.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 This just in: CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will keep DVD buyers busy come the holiday season as the studio has issued street dates for a half-dozen new TV series releases. Viewers can look for the second seasons of "Dark Angel" and "King of the Hill" on October 21 and November 11 respectively with the penultimate season of "The X-Files" on November 4. "M*A*S*H" collectors can expect to see the series' fifth season street on November 11. Then on December 9, Joss Whedon fans will see not only the fifth season of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" but also the complete run of "Firefly" on the format. Fuckin' A, gentlemen. Merry Christmas to me. Now we just wait for the special features lists...
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 I never got into Firefly. But I'll be at Sams Club the day seaosn 5 comes out.
Guest Cavi Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 I saw the premiere of Firefly and like one ep after that. Didn't really keep my interest, so I don't think I will be picking up the DVD set. If like my sister bought it though, I guess I would give it another look. As for Jesse, we hardly knew ye...
Guest TUS_02 Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 I think in the commentary of Welcome to the Hellmouth and The Harvest, they made mention of the fact that Jesse was going to be part of the gang for longer then one episode, but as they got closer to shooting the ep, they wanted to give it the whole "Anyone can die at anytime" thing
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 As for Jesse, we hardly knew ye... He's on HBO's Six Feet Under...least he was, I'm only at the end of season 1. And one of the guys from The Zeppo (who wanted Walker taped) was on the show too. I know it's stupid, but when I see someone from Buffy somewhere else it seems weird. Although Jesse just seemed like he was there to die quickly.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 "Like what happens to your nervous system when you hear this!" (Buffy turns on the tape player to hear Giles giving a lecture) I love that line!
Guest Lil Naitch Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 You know, watching season 1 over again makes me realize how much I dislike the older season. Not for the content or the episodes, but more for the fact taht I just enjoyed the later seasons more. But man, seeing them all looking so young, and now realizing how old each of them were at the time, it just blows my mind, yo.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 You don't like older seasons or you don't like Season 1? Cause how could you not like Seasons 2 & 3?
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 2 and 3 are the very best. So anyone who doesn't like "earlier season" can suck and egg. Season 1 is still good...just seems a little dated.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 2 is great, but a lot of the filler/monster-of-the-week eps still have the same low-caliber of some of the season 1 eps. Fortunately, there's the four developing romances and Spike and Dru to keep things clipping along steadily, even through some of the weaker exhibitions. I can't wait to see season 5 again, though. Having just finished going all the way through 4 again...I think 5's going to be even better the next time around, when all the shocks and turns of the main arc are already in place.

I haven't seen a single episode of Season 5 minus "The Body" ever. And Im extremely proud of myself for it. I know I can wait until December 9th and be able to see it commercial free!
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted July 11, 2003 Report Posted July 11, 2003 Oh you poor thing! Taking yourself away from the Glory of Season 5... Ignorance is bliss, I suppose... but damn, you'll kick yourself in the ass for waiting so long! RRR: Swears he will start working on the Season 5 review soon...
