LaParkaYourCar Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 I have a question. Why does Giles sound really different in some episodes? Sometimes he sounds like he's talking with a really stopped up nose.
Guest Max Danger Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 Maybe he has a really stopped up nose?
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 It's happened in a few episodes it almost sounds like they're doing a voice over since it sounds nothing like him. It's higher pitched and nasal.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 Giles is English...he's suppose to sound funny. Stupid basketball, I only got to watch the episide today. Good overall, the stuff with Andrew and Jon was great, "Are you wearing a wire." And Xander asking Willow to "gay him up" was funny. No complaints really, not too into the principal as some bad ass demon killer...I wanted him to be evil. There's at least 2 more weeks of Buffy without re runs. PREVIEW FOR NEXT WEEK'S BUFFY Desperate for a way to curtail the First, Buffy embarks on a perilous quest for knowledge while, back at the Summers house, the Scoobies are rocked by tragedy within their ranks. PREVIEW FOR THE 2/25 BUFFY Andrew (Tom Lenk) irritates the Scoobies by filming their activities for a documentary on Buffy as Sunnydale High is rocked by a sudden outbreak of student violence; Xander and Anya reconsider their relationship
Guest Vyce Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 I know the tragedy. SPOILERS!!!!! Chloe has committed suicide. Which will probably come off as very traumatic on TV tomorrow. But I have to say: the setup is fucking WEAK. You have her on for ONE episode, she disappears for the next 5 or so, and then she turns up to kill herself? Bah. I kind of wanted Lalaine to stick around.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 She a SIT? Or Dawns buddy in the first episode? With these damn episodes spread out like they are I can't get use to any of the damn names.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 She's an SiT. I think she's the one played by the girl from Lizzie McGwire.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 18, 2003 Report Posted February 18, 2003 Yep...tonight and at least next week
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 All I can say about tonight's episode..........OMG!!!! Spike kicked ass!!! That scene when he got his coat back and walked down the hall was just freakin awesome.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 So...middle earth is preparing to attack Sunnydale?
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Hahaha that did look like something off of Lord of the Rings didn't it? That was a lot of Tourakans!
Guest El Satanico Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Yes it did look alot like a scene from LOTR. Would that make Giles Gandalf? And would Andrew be Gollum...
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I'm fine with the scene. I thought all those tourakans was pretty cool. I'm guessing that was under the seal in the school. Next week looks like somewhat of a light hearted episode.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Well yeah I have no problem with the scene. It's just that when i saw it i was thinking "holy shit it's lotr".
Guest El Satanico Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Next week looks like somewhat of a light hearted episode. Yeah i wouldn't be surprised to see them toss in an out of the storyline "throwaway" show to provide the calm before the storm.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Great episode. So are they trying to say that the First Slayer had a demon inside her or was that a test for Buffy and she passed by not letting the demon enter her?
Guest Kingpk Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Great episode. So are they trying to say that the First Slayer had a demon inside her or was that a test for Buffy and she passed by not letting the demon enter her? I would guess the former. You know, "know your enemy" and all that. Awesome, awesome episode. They actually made Dawn seem useful for once. Oh and THE BIG BAD IS BACK, BABY~!

Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Can someone tell me when Dawn became so useful? I missed about half a dozen eps. this season and am left in the dark about this... Line of the Night: I bring people back, it's my thing (paraphrased from Willow).
Guest Cavi Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 You know what rules? The summer after Season Five, Joss was saying how he would like to explore more of the Slayer's origins eventually. Awesome that they finally got around to it. I also possibly think it was a demon inside the First Slayer, as that is something that has been alluded to before (like how Buffy might have evil in her). I just love how they bring back old stuff... Speaking of which, Spike was just awesome. The scene with the shadow casters was creepy. Great episode all around.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Totally fun episode. Nice to see the tension between Spike and Woods. Spike just ruled the whole thing and the shadow casters were cool and yet, seriously creepy. Cool to see Dawn turn all Info Gal ala early Willow. Maybe I missed him...but where the hell was Andrew?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 The REAL line of the night was either Buffy saying that the Hellmouth usually explodes around May (when each season finale comes aroung) OR Andrew's take off of Dr. Strangelove...complete with a big board.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 The suicide scene was killer, seriously. Out of nowhere, BOOM, she's just hangin around. I liked and I disliked Buffy/First Watchers encounter. The whole theme of the show is "why me" - but you'd think that Buffy would have come to terms with her slayerdom and THE slayerdom. Perhaps it was the Slayers in Training that did it, that reminded her of this responsiblity forced on her... But isn't the hero supposed to, you know, 'take one for the team'?
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 The REAL line of the night was either Buffy saying that the Hellmouth usually explodes around May (when each season finale comes aroung) I so agreed. Laughed my ass off at that. Cute writing. Interesting episode, too. Anyone else have no idea whatsoever on how they could beat the First?
Guest El Satanico Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Interesting episode, too. Anyone else have no idea whatsoever on how they could beat the First? I don't even have a clue IF they will beat The First. I mean we THINK they are going to spin a new show off after Buffy leaves this year, but they could end it all here and just focus on Angel. There will be alot of shocked people if they go with the "Sunnydale loses" option.
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Sunnydale loses just does not seem to go with the gist of the show. I think Buffy will just end up losing her Slayer powers after closing the Hellmouth. The Shadowmen said that she would be the last protector of the Hellmouth, not the last Slayer. Without the Hellmouth, maybe Buffy could just live out a semi-normal life?
Conspiracy_Victim Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 Yeah I was wondering about the wording they used as well. Calling her the Last Protector seems to indicate that should they win (I'll be an optimist) they find a way to close the Hellmouth. Then Buffy, as some sort of reward or something, gets to retire while Faith (pretty please) takes over the mantle as full time Slayer. In other words, I agree with LaParka. As for tonight, seeing Spike with the leather coat and laughing as he fights the demon made me hope that Spike won't become Mr. Wuss for the rest of the year. Since he's got a soul I guess Spike won't turn full on bad, just sinister. Then he and Woods can duke it out and end their little story arc. Also, not enough Andrew, although they seem to rectify that next week. His little presentation with the board was great. "I made it myself!"
Guest Youth N Asia Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 I liked the line "The First Slayer didn't talk this much." I'm glad that they went into a little detail about how the Slayers became the Slayers and WHY they became the Slayers. Cause the guys were chicken. Overall not the best episode, not bad though. And I'm going to be pissed if Wood kills Spike. I liked Wood better when I thought he was evil.
Guest El Satanico Posted February 19, 2003 Report Posted February 19, 2003 maybe Wood is evil... :strokes chin: muahah
