Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I think Glory just needed a human body to exist in the world...thus she found Ben
Guest DawnBTVS Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Yeah, Doc could've been a really great character but was used too little too late IMO.
The Dames Posted June 20, 2003 Author Report Posted June 20, 2003 Doc was really good....because he made me hate him. I know it's just a show and I support heels all the time, but dammit, I HATED his character (for the right reasons). Made me feel like a mark again. Dames
Guest Cavi Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 "Hey kid, wanna see a trick?" *knife!!* That was cool.
Guest Ripper Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Hey BPS, I know that your email is somewhere in this thread but for the love of my 56k modem, what is it again...I will send you the season 1 overview TONIGHT. BTW, how long was everyone elses...I'm a little afraid to say on mine.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I liked Doc. The actor who played him (Joel Grey) won the Oscar in 1972 for best supporting actor in Cabaret. He also won a Tony award. You knew right off the bat that there wasn't something right about him. Just wish he could have had a better death rather then just being pictched off the tower.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Hey BPS, I know that your email is somewhere in this thread but for the love of my 56k modem, what is it again...I will send you the season 1 overview TONIGHT. BTW, how long was everyone elses...I'm a little afraid to say on mine. It's [email protected] IIRC and mine was 2,824 words(Season 2), about 4 1/2 pages on MSWord
Guest Ripper Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Wow...really.. Mine is MUCH longer than that. I of course put a little summary of every ep and reviewed it...I don't think I was too long winded. How'd you do yours.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Had I done one it would have owned. But sadly I didn't even see the thread till 2-7 were already taken
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I loved Doc's death, it was so simple and he was so creepy. The two other God's in Glorys hell dimension sent Glory to earth in the form of a Human/God hybrid. I assume it was meant to restrict Glorys power (imprison her) and to fuck with her mind (which it did - that would be to torture her); they probably thought it was fitting punishment - which it was.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 It doesn't matter how long they are. The point is for different fans to give different perspectives on the show in their own words. Some people can get their point accross quickly...some can't. I haven't started mine (the great thing about going last!) but it will probably be an epic (in length...not quality)
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I plan on doing every episode. One of my favourite things about Season 5 was how every episode actually *did* something for the overall story-arc and all built towards Buffys death in "The Gift".
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Season 7 did that too. ... except for "Him". Damn that episode and it's out of place nature.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I didn't mind Him that much. Just a lamer then average comedy episode. I think less SITs in season 7 would have made it a little better.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 LIES!!!! Everything happens for a reason. I just finished watching the season without three weeks of repeats in between every episode and only "him" does not make sense in the overall arc. "Him" was like...an episode that belonged as filler in season 2
Guest DawnBTVS Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Wow...really.. Mine is MUCH longer than that. I of course put a little summary of every ep and reviewed it...I don't think I was too long winded. How'd you do yours. I didn't do much in terms of actually "reviewing" the episodes rather then pointing out their Notable Moments and what moments related to the Storyline Arc if it all. Also gave a quick episode grade and then a brief, brief summary at the end. This was more to put over what each episode contained rather then how good the episodes were individually. Also allowed me to catch some minor things I hadn't seen before in some episodes.
Guest Cavi Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I thought "Him" had some funny bits, like the rocket launcher scene.
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I liked "Him" but I'm always the guy that likes things most people don't like. For instance I liked Dumb and Dumberer (ducks the fruits and various meats)
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Allow me to just say WOW who would have ever thought... She looks good in those pics.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 Eh, Benson has an unconventional beauty to her - it doesn't come through in those pictures IMO. And of course, she's no Lilah... RRR: Shameless.
Guest Cavi Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I see Holden in that pic on the far right. W&H must have brought him back after being staked by Buffy and made him into some uber scientist! That, or they just cast the same actor...
Guest Youth N Asia Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 The more Tara was on the show the more I liked her. I think it was the musical that finally did it for me. I like Lilah, but she looked better in earlier seasons.
LaParkaYourCar Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I'm risking my Buffy/Angel Fanclub card by saying this, but I still don't see the big deal about Lilah. She's attractive, but nothing to go crazy over.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 *GASP!* Stephanie Romanov isn't very photogenic, BUT, on-screen she is a fox. I mean, even the way she walks, va-va-va-voom! She's a total throwback to the days when a lady could just raise an eyebrow and men would melt... Plus the whole "dressing-up-like-fred" thing ruled. Wes: Leave the Glasses on. RRR: I mark for Holden.

Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted June 21, 2003 Report Posted June 21, 2003 I don't really like those images of Amber Benson. They're bizarrehot, but I've always just kinda liked her as a more "regular woman" type person. And Lilah is hot as all get-out. It's all about the voice.
Guest Lil Naitch Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Benson's hot no matter what. She's the kind of girl that looks good no matter what she dresses up in. Just ordered Buffy season 4 off of ebay, only a few days untill it arrives. Can't wait! And yes, Lilah is hot!
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Benson is also a really nice. I dig that.
Guest Max Danger Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 I don't find either Amber or Stephanie attractive. *shrug* Different strokes, blah, blah, blah. They aren't ugly or anything. Don't think that. Just don't fit my tastes, 'tis all.
