If Rico can beat Flair.....

Recommended Posts

Guest oldschoolwrestling

Jericho seems to have been buried for so long now I'm wondering if he can do what Rico did, beat Ric Flair. Normally I'd say he should win this one, but with Flair being so pissed off after HHH bad-mouthing him, I think he might pull this one off.

Jericho is soooo winning this match. The whole fed is a "heat keeping carousel" so you can bet Y2J will get his win back from Summerslam. Besides, why would they put the I.C title on Flair? Jericho makes a better transition to Booker T or whomever they have lined up to win the thing.

On the topic of Rico beating Flair...

...am I the only one who just sat there in pure shock when Rico not only beat Flair, but did it "fairly", and not only that but they didn't even mention that Flair had his hand on the rope?

You're not the only one.

But Flair will cheat and cheat and cheat on Sunday in hopes of turning Jericho face.

For me, that loss to Rico finally killed off whatever ability Flair might still have to put people over, which wasn't very much anyway.

Jericho will win but it won't do anything for him. Flair should retire from the ring and become Jericho's manager or something.

Rico's win made no sense at all. It was totally anti-climatic, I had to rewind my tape to see what I missed and there wasn't anything. They could have let Rico get in a cheap shot on the distracted Flair with one of those awesome kicks. Or the least they could do is play up the fact that Flair didn't kick out from a nothing move because he had the ropes. Instead it does nothing for anyone.

Jericho should go over, but then again I couldn't believe when he lost at SS. The jobbing carousel may be in full effect, but Jericho seems to have missed a few stops along the way and has to start up again. I think Jericho will win, but I wouldn't put money on it.

I thought at first the finish was botched because Flair was so close to the ropes and he kicked out right after 3.

I haven't watched wrestling with any regularity since Foley left and have only watched it about 5 times this past year. One of the times was fairly recent. That coupled with the fact that I browse the main boards every now and then to see whats new in the world of wrestling keeps me informed as to what is happening.

They let Rico... the stylist... Billy and Chuck's manager... the chopmaster... BEAT RIC FUCKING FLAIR?!?!

Does Flair have ANY credibility left? Has he changed his gimmick from cocky legend in the business to senile old amnesia victim who has forgotten every part about wrestling? Unless my previous assumption about the status of Flair's gimmick is correct (I doubt it is, but it wouldn't surprise me at all, sounds like a Steph Special) then this is the second sign of the apocalypse of the WWE. First was the name change. Now Anna Nicole Smith is going to be working with Rikishi?

The end is nigh.

Yeah what was the deal with that!? I wouldn't take Rico's win seriously though. The writers have something big planned for Flair so I doubt anyone will remember this loss after whatever angle they have planned kicks in.

It's funny how Rico can beat Flair 'clean' in 4 minutes yet Jericho loses (by submission!) in like 10 minutes at summerslam.

If this is getting down the end of his run, I want ONE match before Flair puts his boots away for good...

Flair vs. Benoit. No doubt in my mind that a 53-year old man and the best wrestler today can get ***** out of each other.

But on the topic, this sounds like that one time when Flair won the U.S. title instead of being vaulted to the WCW Title...if they DO pull the trigger...I don't know if that would be smart.

I hope Jericho wins. I'd rather not see Flair as the Intercontinental champion, since he's more World Title material. Also, if Jericho wins, that would be his first PPV victory since No Way Out. :D So, I'm picking Jericho over Flair in this contest.

World title material after losing to Rico? The marks wouldn't buy it.
