I have been working there for only a few months and its a pretty big company and today was the first time I ever talked to the guy who owns the place. Well, we were just getting to know each other and told him I was into wrestling. He just moved here from Japan like 5 years ago. The he asks me if I have ever seen wrestling in Japan and told him that is the only wrestling I watch. He told me that his father is friends with Masa Chono's father. I was like holy shit! He has met him on several occasions and has a bunch of stuff autographed by him. He told me he would give me G1 Climax poster with his autograph on it. Best day ever!

Your a lucky man HBK. The closest I've been to someone knowing about Puro where I am is the guy at Sarku Japan saying "Inoki" as he gave me my chicken since he saw my NJ shirt.

I was in a restaurant once and I heard somebody talking about Kobashi's bad knees, which shocked the hell out of me. Seriously.

It's very hard to find people who know about Puro on the streets. I get shocked when I do too. This is the first time I have ever met someone who knows something about puro except for my friend but I got him into it so he doesn't count.

I met some guy and I found out he was into wrestling particularly Hogan. He asked me if I had ever watched his matches vs. Hansen, Muta, and Inoki. I was surprised he had.

My friend's Japanese instructor used to talk about Sasaki and Muta ALL the time. He gave us some NJ shows his little brother taped in Japan for us a few times.

I've never met anyone who is into puroresu on the street, except the guy I've introduced to it.

It would be really cool to have a mate in real life with a massive puro collection, we could sit and watch together, and then discuss. Course, it'll never happen, I live in the UK and there is very few puro fans here, even compared with the US.

Ok... So let me get this straight.

You post on the same board I post on.

You know a guy who lived in Japan.

That guy has a father.

That father knows another father.

Whose son is Chono.

So in reality - I KNOW CHONO! WHOOO HOOO! WHERE MY TOKYO DOME TICKETS!

LOL Rudo, it's like that whole Kevin Bacon game.

I have never met anyone who watches puro that I know of, then again I live way out in the country. I will be in San Francisco next week and will visit some of the video stores in Japan Town. Hopefully they have some puro at a price I am willing to pay/able to afford. Maybe a puroresu-oriented conversation can be struck up.

I didn't know there was a Japan town in San Fran! I live in San Jose and there's a Japan town here north of downtown. There's a video store with lots of Pride and K1 and some All Japan tapes. Maybe I should check out some SF shops.

Hell, I live 10 minutes away from Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, and I've never even been there!

I was just in San Jose for the WWE show and to visit my sister. I will be there again after my SF trip and might look around more. I was in downtown but I was just wandering for the most part and failed to check if there were any shops where puro might be available.

I did stay in what seemed like an Asian district while I was in Oakland for 3 days but I couldn't tell what stores were Japanese so I didn't even check, I didn't bring alot of spending money with me anyway.

Are you planning on going eventually? I heard the stuff is more expensive, at least I hear Anime is supposed to be cost a lot in shops.

Actually I have been to Oakland and most of those people are Chinese not Japanese. Those people outnumbered everyone else about 4:1. The street signs are also in Chinese.
