I'm chasing Amy...

Recommended Posts

Guest evenflowDDT

Hey guys, how's it going? I recently found out that a crush of mine is a lesbian. Oh well, its all good, I mean I'm still cool with her and we're still gonna hang out, I just can't date her or anything. I wouldn't normally be down over something like this if it wasn't the 3rd or 4th time its happened to me. Anyone else unlucky in this aspect? Any suggestions/comments on how to "get over it"?

Marney, have any straight guys ever had crushes/attractions to you? What about you AnnieEclectic? Did you think they were stupid for doing such? I'm interested in "the other side".

Yes, it's happened, and I only get pissed off if they pursue me or get belligerent and insulting after finding out. Otherwise I take it as the compliment it is.

Flow, are you sure she's really a lesbo? She might just be saying that so you'll stop drooling on her shoulder. :P

Are you sure she's a lesbian?

Is she?

I wouldn't say that, except I'd say at least 1/3 of my Highschool female friends at one point dated girls, and then went back to guys.

There was one, two, three, four, five, six, seeeven... of my closest friends engaged in some sort of that, then most of them went back. What does that mean? I dunno.

lemme say this. The girl I asked to prom. We had a nice platonic dance night. She later tried to seduce my friend. My female friend. Gosh.

I think it must be the age, or the fact that in highschool the guys are suck knuckleheads, but many girls in my Highschool (that I hung out with) "experimented."

Of course it could have been the social circles, it's not like a vast majority of the girls in my school did, but many of the ones I hung out with did...

I dunno what this proves. But if she says she's a lesbian, then don't try to get with her. Later, IF she says she's no longer a lesbian, then commence shennanigans. Later, if you find out she's all of a sudden dating your worst enemy, well... tough :(

Boy.. that really has to suck. I've went out with 3 or 4 bisexual girls, but have never pursued a lesbian.

Is there any other straight girls on this board?

I've used the lesbian excuse to get away from some scary guys. Maybe she just doesn't like you, and doesn't have the nerve to say so.

Eric could be right, also. For some reason, it seems like the hip thing for younger girls to act lesbian now. Most cases I've seen, it doesn't last.

Almost every girl that I know decided suddenly that they are "bi-sexual", and much prefer their own slutty company over that of any heterosexuals like myself.

Erm, I mean...

Stupid kids at school used to ask me if I was a lesbian, and I got tired of it, so I finally just said "yes". Things like that might be why I've never dated...

Yea, I met her girlfriend last night, and we got into a talk about dating older women today, because the only other girl I'm interested in right now is a 22-year old sophomore in one of my classes.

And no worries, I'm no scary guy, and I'm smart enough to know that pursuing a lesbian will get you nowhere, at least nowhere good. I learned that lesson the hard way.

I actually asked her this question too, hopefully without making it too obvious that I liked her. She said that she wouldn't think a straight guy with a crush on a lesbian stupid because she's had crushes on straight girls too. So, I'm off the hook. Whew!

Just adding in my usual nonsensicale $0.02...

My current infatuation, a girl named Christine, returns the affection I have for her, and has openly told me so. We've been on maybe one date (although we considered it more along the lines of "hanging out," since we just walked around town after some heavy cuddle-age at my house for an hour), but we just can't get enough of each other. She's also bisexual...

See, currently, she's been wanting a relationship with a girl really bad. REALLY bad. In fact, the only thing stopping me from just flat-out asking her out is how much she wants to date another girl. What does this all have to do with the entire lesbian thing? This: She told me that she was seriously thinking of herself a lesbian because she hadn't had feelings for a guy for nearly 2 years, but plenty of girls, before she started hanging out with me.

Now, I'm not saying all lesbians are like this, hell Christine wasn't even a lesbian, I'm just saying...well, I'm reiterating this fact to myself to raise my self-esteem a little bit.

So, you're Chasing Amy, eh? Haha...poor fuck.

What are you off the board?

Wow I'm surprised nobody has falsely referred to me yet. I'm not attracted to any lesbians that have become rather infamous here.

I once was dumped by a girl because she wanted to experiment with bi-sexuality and I wouldn't let her whilst still going out with me.

I sometimes wonder why I did that...

My last girl was bi and it didn't really make a lick of difference. She was loyal but wouldn't give me shit for looking at other girls because she did the same.

Hmmm, do straight guys hit on me or ask me out? yes.

do I think they are stupid? only if they knew I was gay and decided they could 'turn' me. otherwise no.

if I'm attractive to them, and they want to date me I take it as a compliment and politely let them know that I'm not that way and that I have no problems being friends with them. Others (BeingsOwningsj00... what?) deserve kicks in the nuts, after which I gladly call them friend if they're not too much of an ass. JD isn't, we're cool, even if he does talk about stuffing things in me which should never be placed inside a human being. Weirdo.

heh.

p.s. as to how to 'get over it' I'm the -last- girl you should ask. :D

Yeah and I know this is a broad generalization (ar har har har) but lipstick lesbians are the nicest coolest people on earth.

Seriosly, they're not sorostitutes, but they're not butch either, and they probably have a sense of humor. EXACTLY like that chick from Chasing Amy actually.

That's probably why guys like lesbians so much, because they're sometimes the easiest to get along with. I dunno maybe I've just had really great lesbian friends.

It was a broad generalization, because it was about women

All the lesbians I've ever met were mean to me because I had a penis. Or because I'm an asshole, one of the two.
