Guest buffybeast Report post Posted September 26, 2002 How about wanting to elevate other guys on the roster? Or how about testing the waters and seeing what kind of response Bubba may get if he is pushed? You won't really know if a person can legitimately main event unless you put him/her out there and see what kind of reaction he/she gets.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted September 26, 2002 A person should be put in that position when it is deserved. Bubba is not getting nor has he ever gotten the crowd response that would indicate that this is a person who should be in a main event level feud. Its good to give someone a smaller push until they get the kind of response that warrants being elevated like this. Booker's getting that response. Kane gets that response. (Although hes never responded well to a main event push) RVD is geting 27,000 times the response Bubba is but hes being pushed DOWN the card while Bubba's going up. Its inane. Guest nikowwf Report post Posted September 26, 2002 I need to say something else. My main problem with HHH / BUBBA is that (feel free to disagree) this is an attempt by HHH to hold down an over superstar (RVD) by pushing him down the card in a side feud while HHH "elevates" someone who is no threat to his position. Like his one match "elevation" of Jeff Hardy or his putting over Shawn Michaels. RVD would benefit huge by a win over HHH, so it ain't happening. Bubba would go from mid mid card to upper mid card. ooh...exciting. Raw really lacks midcarders right now. Thats why I hate this match and will not pay to see it. You won't really know if a person can legitimately main event unless you put him/her out there and see what kind of reaction he/she gets. That kind of booking does more to hurt than help. You don't just throw someone in a ppv main event to see if they'll work. They've been testing the waters with all the HHH/Bubba backstage skits. Bubba has got cheap pops for saying "it's not the HHH show" but once he hits the ring all the fans care about are the tables. WWE should have Bubba wrestle two straight months without using one single table and see if the fans still like him at the end.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 26, 2002 Wait... HHH wants to face Bubba so he won't have to put over RVD who is the person on the RAW roster who is most capable of threatening his spot? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I don't beleive it.
Guest Quik Report post Posted September 26, 2002 Shocking, right? I think Triple H would rather lower himself by beating shitty wrestlers than elevating good ones. What's the best way Triple H could injure himself? I'm thinking blown piledriver.
Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted September 26, 2002 I say let Bubba have his shot. Who knows, maybe he'll get over and we'll have another big face OTHER than the god damn Undertaker. There's no way I'd pay to see this match, but it wouldn't shock me if Bubba could get a better match out of HHH than RVD.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted September 26, 2002 Does any fan actually buy that Bubba has any form of a chanc against HHH. It will only be effective if he pulls off a win against HHH, and not some lame tag match, ala Jeff Hardy in 2001. Is anybody else thinking that HHH will hold onto the title until 'Mania and then lose it to Shawn Michaels?

Outside of Rock, Taker and HBK (I would have used Brock...but I think it's obvious that HHH won't be putting him over ever)... IS there ANYONE who you think IS beleivable to win over HHH? Welcome to problem #1 with the RAW roster.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 26, 2002 Oh...in answer to your question: NO. the next time that HBK wrestles he'll be giving HHH his win back, probably after costing him the title to RVD on a throwaway RAW before Survivor Series...or if injury dictates at the next ppv. Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted September 26, 2002 That's the problem with the whole damn company. None of the current main eventers will lose. Not HHH..for his own reasons. Not Taker..for his own reasons. Not Brock..because he's the Next Big Hoss ..sad, really.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted September 26, 2002 You know, bubba could be easily carried, although his lack of a threatening character hurts him. Problem is I don't even think Benoit or Eddie could get a good match out of Hunter in this pathetic form. When you have two guys that need to be carried you have a steaming pile of shit. The build has been excellent, but the match will not be. I say build the shit out of a Jericho/RVD/HHH 3 way because the hatred is all around there. Could be fun if HHH jobs. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 26, 2002 RVD/HHH/Jericho... hmm... why do I feel RVD will win the fake world title by pinning Jericho
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 26, 2002 And why should Brock lose? He has the title now and hasn't been established yet, so if you job him to anyone other than Undertaker it's going to carry little credibility. HHH/HBK at WrestleMania, there going to try and steal the show from Brock/Angle and Rock/whomever.
Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted September 26, 2002 This may sound crazy, but the only RAW star that probably could beat HHH would be a face Jericho. He's the only "non-main eventer" main eventer the fans probably could rally behind enough for there to be an actual big payoff. Booker T? Who knows, they aren't even trying with him Bubba? Still a tag wrestler in most people's eyes RVD? He'll get his big win soon enough Kane? He'll prolly never main event again
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted September 26, 2002 I don't even think Benoit or Eddie could get a good match out of Hunter in this pathetic form. I think Eddie might be able to, but only if he bumps like crazy for HHH's power moves.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 26, 2002 people who could beat HHH, and why they won't" Jericho: An absolute joke. Plus...come on...he's NEVER gonna beat HHH. Booker: A: He's not that exciting outside of promos and spinaroonies. B: They have no plan to use him. Kane: He'll return his job to HHH and then return to doing nothing. There is the hoss factor though. Bubba: Never gonna happen. RAW was an omen. RVD: He'll win the fake title sooner or later. Too bad he's on the RAW show and can't get a real title. At this point I'd be content to keep him in the uppermidcard and waiting to have a feud with Angle after Angle takes the real title eventually. That would be neat. Guest Brian Report post Posted September 26, 2002 Actually, that's more depth that I thought the RAW roster had. HBK got a decent match out of Hunter all pumped up on pain killers, I'm sure Eddie could do the same. Benoit tends to rely on the other worker to contribute, so I don't know what we'll get there even though what he brings is gold. Angle, probably, he'll work his match which is a good fit for HHH. Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted September 26, 2002 Part of my reason for disliking Bubba is..well.. He's the ONLY GUY that's been heavily protected on Raw (like Edge on SD). Booker couldn't buy a win. Jericho is a JTTS. RVD hasn't had a program since Eddy. That's three guys, right there..who have been over..and WITHOUT tables. Without the table gimmick, Bubba would be just like D-von.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 26, 2002 Booker is a joke, but he's still somewhat strong and fresh as a face. If they wanted to, they could work with that. Jericho could only get up there as a face. Kane, I don't mind him, but I don't think he's really portrayed as being that strong anymore since he semi-dropped the gimmick. He still wins and all but he's not much of a threat.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted September 26, 2002 ..is it just me..or are there no "real" heels except for HHH and Lesberg? Angle's a joke. Benoit..eh..I'll kindly leave that alone. Jericho? ppbht. See Angle.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 26, 2002 We all know HHH is the only real heel i the business. X-Pac said so. What about Guerrero?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted September 26, 2002 I keep forgetting Eddy. >_< He's just so good at it..but never really used. I'm biased, but he deserves a good feud that'd actually USE his talents. The guy can get heat just by walking.

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 26, 2002 The problem is this: Half the time he's over in an "OMG look at Angle...let's all laugh at him" way
Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted September 26, 2002 The problem is this: Half the time he's over in an "OMG look at Angle...let's all laugh at him" way That would explain it. But Angle is 100 times better in that role. Anytime he plays a serious part I just end up rolling my eyes.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted September 26, 2002 Angle IS a joke. Really. He's the most over heel on Smackdown, right? Would you see heel Austin, HHH, or Lesnar getting his pants pulled down week after weak, taken lightly, and his head shaved? Nope. Would you see them constantly written to make themselves look like a bumbling idiot? Nope.

Leave the serious shit to Benoit, Brock and HHH. The thing about Angle is that no matter how bumbling they make him look week after week, he still doesn't come off as a joke in the ring. Which is something we can at least be thankful for. Jericho on the other hand is a different story.............
Guest Super Pissed Smark Report post Posted September 26, 2002 "OMG look at Angle...let's all laugh at him" You just gave me this horrible visual of Kurt in the middle of the ring wearing a prom dress with pig's blood all over him and his mother yelling "They're all going to laugh at you!" Thanks a lot.
