High Heat Baseball 2003 for PC, MVP

 

- Wow! What a game I just had. It's September 24th, with only 6 games left in the season. The Chicago Cubs have a .5 game lead up on my Cincinnati Reds. It's been a battle, basicly all season long between us. Well, the Cubs open a 3 game series against the Reds at Wrigley today, and it was a hell of a game. I'll break it down ..

 

- Kerry Wood vs. Shawn Estes

 

- Wood: 7 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K

 

- Estes: 7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 2 K

 

- Shawn was inline for the win after I scored 1 run off of Jeff Fassero in relief (Aaron Boone RBI Single). So, Estes was looking for his 9th win, and I brought in my dominate setup man, Scott Sullivan. He pitched a perfect 8th, to set it up for the best in the league, closer Carlos Almanzar. DeSheilds flew out, but after that .. Patterson doubled to left. I brought my outfield in a bit, and it proved helpful. As, Bobby Hill singled, and Patterson couldn't score. 1 out, and heres Sosa. 2nd pitch, bam .. Fly ball .. sac fly RBI. Tie game in the 9th. After that, Alou singled .. so I figured thats all for Almanzar, and I brought in my great lefty specialist (league lefties hitting only .188 off him, with a 0.89 era off of lefties). He got the lefty, McGriff to pop out to end the inning.

I love being in pennant races in video games. I came back in my Sega World Series baseball with the Fathers and won the NL West. I was down 5 games with 5 to go. I happened to close the season against the division leader, the Braves. I won 2 games in NY against the Mets, and swept the Braves to force a 1 game playoff, which I won. Of course, the Fathers got beat in the World Series, but I had a good run.
