Who should main event Wrestlemania XIX?

Recommended Posts

Guest Anglesault
I personally don't think that Brock will be champ by WM. WWE has too short of an attention span to keep Brock champ for 7 more monthes.

And even Vince isn't that stupid/stubborn. Is he?

I would sure hope not. I don't mind Brock, but I don't really want to see him main event WWE's marquee show...he has 20 years to do that :P

Regardless of what has happened with him, I bet Steve Austin would pop the ratings big time.

I'll go with Brock(Still as champ) versus the Rock. The Rock will return next year after shooting the movie and he's probably going to want revenge against Lesnar. If the WWE is struggling in any way the Rock is going right back to the top to create mainstream interest as only the Rock has been able to do. I see him being hyped for a return to the Royal Rumble(Or having him be a suprise participant.), winning the battle royal and earning a shot at Lesnar. He then goes away to do whatever he has to do in Hollywood only cutting vignettes promoting his revenge on Lesnar at Mania. Lesnar at his inability to get his hands on the Rock will grow frustrated and decimate his opponents like Sid or Vader used to do, then finally after months of anticipation they finally square off.

Yes, Because this last Lesnar/Rock feud in which the SAME THING HAPPENED left me on the edge of my seat.

That was said about Flair, and then NWO and the Invasion angle and the Rock...do you see a pattern? Austin will raise the ratinggs for 1 week then it will be the usual again.

Anywyas, let's develop new talent, not bring back old talent.

What it should be? Angle/RVD.

What it will be? Lesnar/Edge. Or Lesnar/Angle..because it's "special" for some reason. BS.

That said..

I'm no longer ordering a PPV if Brock, HHH, or Taker is in the main event. I'll watch at a friend's house, I'll download it, or miss it entirely..but I'm sure as hell not paying to see the Next Big Hoss's undeserved reign as champion.

Emphasis on Talent. No Lesnar, no Dudley. Focus on the guys who have had **** matches in the last week.

..or better yet, AS..

Focus on young guys who're actually TALENTED..instead of just big, or favorites with Good Ol' JR.

I'd love to see new stars created by Wrestlemania, but my point is that like Hogan, I bet a return of Steve Austin could do amazing business (with proper buildup) for another Wrestlemania card. Keep in mind, Austin isn't a has-been, when given decent material to work with he is very very capable of **** matches. Also, the fans never asked for him to leave. The backstage crap is the reason he left.....Just a thought

Exactly. Those four guys (Anle, Benoit, Edge, Eddy) really impressed this weekend and Eddy and Edge impressed me the most. I was expecting a fantstic match from Benoit and Angle, but I didn't expect the two great matches we got from Eddy and Edge.

Note to Vince: Push Eddy!

Nice sediment, but Hogan didn't do great business for WWE at alll in the long run. It was only at WM in which he was useful, and that was because of the Toronto fans.

And the reason I'm against a Austin return is that I don't really like him that much. I think that he is overrated.

If Rey wasn't so damn small, I'd say him, too.

Ya know, witht them keeping the mic away from Edge and him not sucking, he's growing on me,

Ya, even I am not naive enough to believe that Vince will ever have Rey as a maineventer...but I bet that he is going to get at least a semi push soon considering he win in that three way...

And someday AS, you too will become an Edgehead

I want RVD vs. Angle.

Were I the WWE I would make it RVD vs. Angle

However, I am not...

So...

Angle over Brock.

HHH over HBK.

Was there some memo passed around saying Angle was going to be even near the main event at WM? Because he hasn't main evented anything in months (well, except for Vengeance where he was used to protect Taker).

Surely the main event will be headlined by the most dominant stars in the company which would be Taker and HHH. Using Angle and Brock as the main event of the biggest PPV of the year would be an admission that they are bigger draws and/or more talented but are simply held back because of politics/Vince knows best/locker room leadership (take your pick).

I would be fine with Angle/Lesnar but considering Austin, Rock, Hogan and Shawn are all reasonably good odds for putting in an appearance, I think Angle/Lesnar would be shunted pretty far down the card or won't happen at all.

I also have no idea why everyone is anticipating this Lesnar/Angle match. It all comes down to money. Would I pay to see Lesnar/Angle main WM? Not really. Would I pay to see Lesnar/RVD? Yeah.

It is much too early to ponder these things. This time in 1999 we thought the WM main would be Big Show/Austin. Then we figured it would be Rock/HHH. It ended up being Rock/HHH/Big Show/Foley.

We had no idea last year what the WM main would be, it ended up being Jericho/HHH along with Hogan/Rock. Who would believe THAT?

If RVD isn't involved in a title match I would like to see him vs. Shawn, but somehow I doubt that.

Believe me if they come out with a good storyline that would make Angle a huge heel more than he is right now by SS and turn Lesnar face, this will make Angle one of the greatest heels of all time, the fans love to hate this guy already all they need to do is for him to change his character from goofy heel to super-heel. Turning Angle face would be a bad business decision right now. In another note if Austin comes back to WWE let him feud with Hogan to see who's the biggest superstar of all time, but don't let that feud overshadow the championship match, like the Rock/Hulk feud did last year unless HHH is in it.

The match that would draw biggest would be..... Brock v Goldberg, thats if they sign Goldy.

Dont forget Steiner may also be in by then. Most likely HHH will be fighting Nash at WM for the tittle.

No way they'd do Brock vs Goldberg at Mania. They wouldn't even have him brought in by then. They could only get Goldberg if they promised him the belt. They'd be stupid to kill Brocks Heat. Both of them suck and the only question going into the match would be who is going to suck more. Actually who does suck more?

I figure Angle vs. Brock has the built in story with Brock as the totally cocky heel. He'd probably have beaten Angle already, at Vengeance. But Angle would have been the first person to kick out of the F-5, so Brock would have had to bust out something bigger. Brock's two years removed from his amateur career whereas Angle is six; furthermore Angle chose not to go to the Olympics to chase a title he couldn't win four months earlier, further proving he's out of his prime. Brock's been undefeated for almost a year; even having Heyman and Brock rud it in by saying their going to cleebrate on so and so debut date, almost ignoring Angle. Angle's got a bad-ass streak in him and the benefit of having that is live crowd are starting to react with more cheers. He needs to embrace it though and ignore the comedy. If they somehow build the match around the mat work, Brock the powerful one and Angle bursting out with quickness whenever called upon.

If Brock gets the chance to work against Benoit, Eddie, and Angle earlier, even in short feuds, hopefully he should be able to soak up enough.

Cabbageboy, double main event. Probably RVD vs. Jericho. Throw in the lower-card match of HBK vs. HHH (becauset that's probably the only match HBK will accept and that HHH will step down on the card for).

for).

How exciting. The boring, plodding evil kind-of-monster heel vs. the redicuously bad face in the main event of Wrestlemania, in a match that already happened four months prior, in which it was decided who the better man was. (Unless, of course, by "something bigger" you mean Brock nailing Angle with a large blunt object to pin him and then refuse to give a rematch.) Holy Christ that will bomb.

What should happen? (Keep in mind I want to keep the World Title separate)

Angle over Benoit (Benoit wins it a Survivor Series, only to go full blown heel shortly after, while Angle gets turned face.)

Booker over RVD (Face vs. Face; RVD beats HHH at No Mercy, and jobs clean here)

What will happen?

HHH over Kane

Undertaker over Brock

I'm an RVD hater (he doesn't entertain me), and even I'm not stupid enough to recognize that he shouldn't be main eventing the RAW side right now.

Sorry to all you smarks out there BUT the marks don't want to see Angle or Benoit. Vince is going to do his utmost to bring them Golberg Vs HHH. You never know it could be a ***.

Could I ask how you know what Vince is doing his "utmost" for and that this is the main event he wants? Oh, I'm sorry, this is what YOU want. It's not the same thing.

Oh, and jot this one down: there's a d in Goldberg.
