I mean, he is partly Mexican (see name, family history), but he doesn't really have the accent or even the real general look of a Latino man.

I had no idea he's not 100% Hispanic. And that probably means that the people cheering for him don't either.

 

PS - just because I think he's Hispanic doesn't mean I think that heinous Cheech and Chong accent is real. Just wanted to clear that up before people started mocking me.

I think it's pretty sad that they have Eddy talking like that to make people think he's spanish, and then expect people not to catch on when his nephew sounds whiter than me out there.

The only thing I dislike about Eddy is his mic skills. He cuts these god-awful promos that are agonizingly slow and he calls everyone "Esse" or "Holmes".

 

Eddy: You're... going... down esse!

Eddy usualy gets good Heel Heat. They've been in California lately which has a large Lation Population which could explain the Eddy Chants. If he gets a good Pop next week then they should turn him face.

This is true. Eddie did get major face heat in Oakland this past summer just because he is a latino.

Then by this logic, every single person on the roster should get cheers in the Midwest because they're white

 

Eddie's getting cheers because he's been working his ass off lately and people are noticing. I was actually thinking of this the other day... what if they turn him face? But really, as long as its recognized and leads to a push, I don't care if he stays heel or face. Although, it'd be strange to turn him face and leave Benoit heel.

Eddy's promos remind me of those characters on SUPERFRIENDS like "Samurai" or "Apache Chief" or "El Dorado" that speak English very... slowly.
