Guest jester Report post Posted September 29, 2002 Notice the hhhater haters have been quiet the last little while? It must be real hard to be on HGH's side these days.
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted September 29, 2002 Damn, this is funny. It needs to be done though. People all across America need to stand up and walk out and protest the Bubba Ray push. HHH is just going to have to face the fact that he is going to have to job to RVD at some point. My god it's not going to hurt his career or anything. In fact a back and forth feud would HELP his career.
Guest the 1inch punch Report post Posted September 29, 2002 Question, isnt Bubba just as hated in the locker room?
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted September 29, 2002 HHH: People-uh left after-uh your match, too, Rob-uh! RVD: Yeah, but it was intermission. HHH: Don't-uh.... TRY AND CONFUSE-uh...me... WITH THE FACTS! *Poses, Spits Water* You've gotta wonder, are people leaving because they don't wanna see Bubba main event, don't wanna see HHH's boring "NWA-stlye" match, or becuase they've already seen RVD, Flair, RICO~!, and their other favorites. Rico is a draw. Don't look at me like that. I'LL TELL ERIC~!
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted September 29, 2002 Well, I do hear that Bubba is an asshole outside of the ring...but yeah, why stay and watch Bubba/HHH if you've already seen the Spinaroonie and the ***** Froggie Splash?
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted September 29, 2002 It boggles my mind that at a time when business is down, and the WWE is trying to turn things around they bend the Main Event over and try and shove Bubba Dudley in there unlubed. Hardly anyone wants to see him there, and if business is down wouldn't it make sense to put someone who is actually over in the Main Event? I know someone is going to use the "well they're elevating new talent. Everyone cries for new talent but when they do it people bitch." argument. Why not elevate talent that is already over? Why is Booker T. stuck in meaningless tag matches? Why is RVD battling Ric Flair? Why is Jericho still IC Champ? Why is Bubba Dudley being pushed ahead of those guys? What has he ever done to even come close to being in a Main Event for a World Title? If they want to push him to the top they should've started with him at IC level where more people would've been able to stomach it.
Guest BaldFish Report post Posted September 29, 2002 I was actually at this house show. Flair/RVD lost the crowd--it was too much psychology with the leg, and RVD didn't use half of his signature spots. He got the stepover kick before the leg started getting worked, and Rolling Thunder, and the *****, but nothing else. No Van Daminators. No monkey flip. Nada. And Bubba/HHH... yeah, that was bad. I hate to admit it, but HHH was super-over, especially with the women, and HHH did his best to put Bubba over as a threat--there was a ref-bump and a Bubba pin and a Flair run-in and a chairshot involved there, so Bubba comes out looking credible but inexperienced. The problem is, people see Bubba as an ex-tag-team wrestler. They should give him a solo run at the IC title to establish him as a singles wrestler. Maybe even drop the "Dudley". At any rate. Other notes: Test was surprisingly good, Jindrak and D'Lo had a really cool double-team attack, and the women's match blew. Show/Dreamer and Kane & Hurricane/Unamericans were the best matches on the card. Booker T & Goldust/3-MinuteMen didn't get NEARLY enough time--same for Flair/RVD. And Rico/Spike was a pretty good opener, too, I should add. Rico is amazing at getting the crowd heat. So, yes. Decent enough show, lots of crowd heat, CRAPPY AUDITORIUM though. Horrible P.A. system. Flat seating--I was in the risers way out toward the side and even I was having problems seeing. The out-of-ring stuff just doesn't work with a live show. I'd go back, but I'd hope they'd use a different venue. The Gainesville house show that Austin no-showed was WAY better, IMO. Of course, Our Olympic Hero was at that, so that goes without saying. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted September 29, 2002 The description of that RVD match sounds like the same problem I've had with his recent matches....not so much his effort but the way they're booked. Lately it seems that his opponents have been working a body part (Benoit the shoulder, Flair the leg) while RVD gets no offense for the entire match. I'm sorry but when people pay to see an RVD match, they don't want to see him have his shoulder worked on for 20m or his leg attacked ad nauseum. There IS a reason why that stuff got old and no one did it for years....it bores the hell out of people. When I see an RVD match I want to see daring offense, his usual spots like Rolling Thunder and the 5 Star. With Bubba I think it will just be one of these Bradshaw experiments that ends up going nowhere.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 30, 2002 I actually dig the Bionic Elbow routine. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted September 30, 2002 He doesn't have to grab his damned testicles to get over, does he? Keep the elbow, but get rid of the nut groping.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 30, 2002 He doesn't grab his nuts, he just puts his hands against his upper thighs near his crotch, sometimes closer than others. The pelvic thrust makes it look like he is. Why do I know this so well? Damn photographic memory... Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest buffybeast Report post Posted September 30, 2002 As one of only a few Bubba Ray fans, I feel I must comment on this situation. I don't think the WWF should abandon BBR's main event push. However, I do agree with this individual when he said: "The problem is, people see Bubba as an ex-tag-team wrestler. They should give him a solo run at the IC title to establish him as a singles wrestler. Maybe even drop the "Dudley"." I think his ME push came too quickly. BBR should have had more of a build up in the ranks before placing him in the ME. I think he could be a player in the main even scene. I don't think he is useless the way most people mistakenly do.
