The Retirement Home

Anyone have any idea how long the current crop of 40 year+ crowd is going to stick around for? I've heard varying stories about Taker retiring next Wrestlemania but it seems kinda unlikely if they have the same thing planned for Hogan (which seems much more likely) or Flair, though the way they treat Flair he will probably retire on Velocity 'passing the torch' to Mark Henry.

Naturally, there is a potential star to be made in whoever beats Taker at WM, so does this ensure his stay until at least WM20?

As a side note, how much longer is Booker going to be around for? He seems to be a lost cause. If WWE finally do push stars based on the pops they get, he would probably still be low on the agenda due to his age.

Unless there has been an announcement that i havent heard, i dont think anyone could say when they will retire. I mean when you look at flair, he continues to rubbish his legacy, and taker is by no mean main event material anymore, however both "stars" continue to wrestle on prime time wwe tv!

I dont hate legends, and i respect taker and flair for what they have done, but my respect is dwindling. Its time for Taker to realise that he has to give young talent a chance and put them over clean, just like the last generation did for him.

With flair, i undertsand that it must be hard to give up something that you love doing, but he just cant cut it anymore, and i believe that he will injure himslef through a badbump before he decides to retire.

Massive props to hogan though, he came back fo an over title reign, but put brock over without question when he was asked to.

A i agree that start is to be made when taker is finally beaten clean. I would hope that they would give it to Brock (if it is in the near future, even though i dont like the guy) to get him further over (if they decide to persist with him) or to RVD to finally push him to main event status. However, i fear that it will more likely be given to the like of Edge or John Cena!

Shame on you vince, shame on you!

ChUnK!

I wouldn't be surprised if these guys would be around for another five years.

They are not leaving the ring as long as they are actually able to limp down to it. Only a severe injury, or perhaps being turned into a low card joke will keep the out.

I think Hogan may retire soon. I hope he retires at WMXIX after beating Vince.

Flair will never retire and I don't think Taker has taken the hint yet

These guys will quit when Vince tells them they aren't worth it anymore. None of those guys will quit on their accord.

I have no problem with Hogan and Flair being around. B/c you know they actually put guys over and are still draws.

Taker needs to leave. He refuses to put anyone over and I really question if he's ever been a draw.

Only way Undertaker is retiring is if he gets a career ending injury. He will be holding down people until then. I bet in 10 years he is still on tv saying this is my yard blah blah blah and not selling moves.

If it were up to me, I'd make WMXIV the "night of legends". It's too bad this isnt #20 coming up since it would be much more appropiate but we cant wait another year. Advertise it as the retirement matches for Flair, Hogan, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels and mean it. It's a great idea on many levels. As I said I wish it was WMXX since it would be and even coller idea but might as well do it at the next one.

Such a bunch of rabid Taker Haters....

As Long as Abdullah the Butcher Flies all over the world and Waddles into the rings Impaling people with Forks at 70 then The Undertaker can wrestle.

If that happened on WWE TV, I dont think we'd be happy. I'm sorry you're such a loyal fan that you can't see Undertaker for what he is. He's become broken down and old, he can't keep up in the ring, consistently stays in the main event picture despite dragging down matches and not putting over any talent, not to mention the way he just can't put his ego in check to lose cleanly to a young talent like Brock who's the freakin' champ. God forbid we make him look strong. EVEN Hogan was putting people over. Taker needs to go, the sooner the better. At least Triple H can still pull out a good match if he gets himself together.

Anyways, Hogan's gone. Flair's okay since his roles being scaled back. Undertaker...what's the point.

He doesn't need to go anywhere...Nope nope nope...

Here's an idea-

How bout you actually try to defend the Undertaker instead of being like- I like him- yay!!!!

Let's compare Hogan and Taker at PPVs-

WM- Hogan puts over Rock and then shakes his hand and tries to get the crowd on his side.

Taker makes Flair his bitch.

Backlash- Hogan beats HHH for the title in a match marred by interference that was also mega-boring.

Taker beats Austin in a match so boring I dozed for a minute watching it.

JD- Taker, for no reason, gets the belt over Hogan.

KOTR- Taker has a horrible match with HHH winning with a fluke rollup.

Hogan taps out to the anklelock, becoming the first person to do so in months.

Vengeance- Taker loses his title but as a present gets to kick out of the Rock Bottom and loses w/o being pinned.

Hogan teams with Edge and faces two other midcarders Lance Storm and Christian. Notice how he tried to use his starpower to get the other three over.

Summerslam- For no reason Taker beats Test.

Hogan doesn't wrestle because he is out with injuries after putting over Brock Lesnar and trying to make him look like the star of the century.

This year- Taker has jobbed to Maven (mega fluke with two people running in) and Rock (Flair run-in), Angle (HHH interference, fluke rollup) That's three

Hogan has lost to- Rock, Taker, HHH, Brock Lesnar and Angle.

I hope one day Taker takes the heat and starts like jobbing

Vengeance: You forgot Hogan put over those midcarders for the titles too!

Unforgiven: Lest we forget that Undertaker has his match changed at the last minute so he doesnt have to put over the new champ, Brock and makes him look like shit in the process. I guess Undertaker is a bigger star than the likes of Hogan and the Rock.
