Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted October 9, 2002 When does the new Talib Kweli drop? Oh yea... I'm gonna go with Blackalicious' Gift of Gab, although there are so many underground guys that could fit the title. In my opinion, mainstream rappers like DMX are definitely enjoyable, but they're way too similar and formulaic to be considered "best" of anything. The only mainstream rapper of the '90s-'00s I could even consider as a "best" would be 2Pac because he rapped on different topics and when he wanted to, his words would have meaning. Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted October 9, 2002 DMX as the best rapper? I'm sorry, but most of his stuff sound the same... "Grrrrr" shit is real" that's BS to me... Now, we can go underground if you want...there's a cat out there, his name is Graf or something like that...that cat is nice...I heard him in a DJ freestyle tape, and of shit. There's a underground cat (Forgot his name thought) that just killed DMX using his own beats...that dude is nice. Nature has some nice lyrics, aint the hottest though. Freeway is just annoying. Beanie is toooo gangsta. Nas is just a poet. Ja Rule suck Nelly Suck Ludacris SUCK Fat Joe got better ever since Pun died, but he's still not up to that level...if Pun was still alive, shit, a lot of rappers would be crying. 50 cent is nasty...that's all I have to say about that. Another cat that's nice, too bad he got punk out by Fat Joe is Cuban Link...he has a tight flow. Mos Def, nice Common is nice. Stan Spit...he's nice. There's quite a few that people dont know about that's nice. Bo Beanie Sigel: is str8 Freeway: he alright but his voice is so annoying it sounds like he's whining and rapping at the same time. He was aight in "1-900 Hustler" Str8 in small doses. Ludacris: aight does some skills. aight Nelly: The diliema song on his current album I like and thats because of Kelly Rowland carried the song. Garbage. I hate that damn Air Force 1's song. Ja Rule: The 2K version of LL Cool J mixed with 2pac. Garbage Fat Joe: I have notice he has gotten better now, but still not on Big Pun's level thou. Ok Nature: aint feelin him Cormega: This cat is Raw and gettin better get "True Meaning" Nas: Good when he's being himself instead of appealing to the Mainstream 50 Cent: Now wit Dre and Em, his production will be way better then his stuff on "Guess who;s Back" album, Production on 50's album wasn't that bad but his hooks are not that good. Mos Def: Is a good rapper, but I don't know about Blackjack Johnson Rock/Rap thing he's doing now I just hope that he just experimenting thats all. If you Heard "Freak Daddy" you know what im talkin about. Cuban Link: Should stuck with Fat Joe then he would get notice. DMX: He's good and all, hypes you up Scarface: The Fix is classic just like most of his solo joints
