Tajiri vs Shannon Moore Tajiri got the pin with a kick to the face. Billy Kidman vs Doug Basham Kidman got the pin with the shooting star press. ***SMACKDOWN*** Tazz and Michael Cole are the announcers. Smackdown starts with a taped promo of Stephanie running down tonight's card. The tag title tournament will start tonight and finalize at No Mercy. 1st Round Tag Title Tournament Rikishi and Mark Henry vs Chavo and Eddie Guerrero Chavo hit Henry in the leg with a chair which allowed Eddie to easily make Henry submit to a leg lock submission hold. Backstage, Torrie Wilson introduces her dad to Billy and Chuck. Dawn Marie walks up and introduces herself to Torrie's dad. Dawn wishes Torrie good luck in their bikini contest tonight. Backstage, Paul Heyman tells Brock Lesnar that he has to fight the Undertaker again at No Mercy. Stephanie gets to pick the stipulation of that match. Matt Hardy walks in and says what he will do to Undertaker tonight will pale in comparison to what Lesnar did to Undertaker last week. Falls Count Anywhere Matt Hardy vs The Undertaker Both men made their way backstage. Lesnar attacked Undertaker from behind and hit the F5 thus enabling Matt to get the easy pin. After the match Lesnar hit Undertaker in the hand with a helium tank. Backstage, Marc Loyd tries to interview Undertaker. Undertaker walks away in pain. Loyd comments to the trainer that Undertaker is in severe pain. The trainer says he thinks Undertaker's hand is broken and he will take him to the hospital for x-rays. Jamie Noble w/ Nidia vs Crash Noble got the pin with a rollup and his hands on the ropes. Backstage, Marc Loyd interviews Kurt Angle. Angle bets that Chris Benoit will lose to Mysterio again tonight. Angle says he is as close to perfect as you can get. Edge walks up and says Angle is not perfect. Angle says his gold medals say he is. Edge says Angle's bald head is proof that he is not. Angle attacks Edge and heads to the ring for their match. Kurt Angle vs Edge The first referee got knocked out so a second referee comes down. Angle hit a top rope superplex which Edge rolled through to get the pin. The two referees got into a shoving match over the finish. It is decided that the match will be restarted. Benoit comes out to watch. Angle inadvertantly hits himself with a chair trying to hit Benoit (it bounced off the ropes). Edge gets the easy pin with a spear. Very long match. Probably a good 25 - 30 minutes. Backstage, Angle goes after Benoit. Stephanie interferes and tells Angle and Benoit that they need to get along because next week they will be tag partners in the tag title tournament. If they don't get along in the ring when they are partners, they will be suspended for one year without pay. Backstage, Matt Hardy tels Heyman and Lesnar that he beat the Undertaker again, by sheer Mattitude. Matt says if Undertaker is hurt he may not be able to compete at No Mercy. That means there is no #1 contender. And since Matt beat Undertaker that should make him the #1 contender. Heyman suggests that Matt go talk to Stephanie about it. Matt leaves. Heyman jokingly says that Matt would kill Lesnar. Lesnar laughs it off. Backstage, Faarooq and Reverend Dvon make fun of everyone that lives in Lafayette. 1st Round Tag Title Tournament Billy and Chuck vs Faarooq and Reverend Dvon Faarooq nails Billy with the spinebuster while the referee's back was turned which allowed Dvon to get the easy pin. Backstage, Dawn Marie walks up to Torrie Wilson's father and asks him what he thinks of her bikini. He says it looks great. Bikini Contest Torrie Wilson vs Dawn Marie The crowed cheered louder for Torrie so she is declared the winner by Tazz. After the match Dawn throws Torrie out of the ring. Backstage, Stephanie confirms to Heyman and Lesnar that Undertaker's hand is indeed broken. However, the Lesnar/Undertaker match at No Mercy is still on. Stephanie also announces the stipulation of the match - Hell In A Cell. Rey Mysterio vs Chris Benoit Angle dropped Benoit on the ropes which allowed Mysterio to hit a hurricanrana for the pin. After the match Benoit puts Angle in the crippler crossface. Referees seperate the two. Angle tries to shake Benoit's hand but Benoit blows snot on him. Referees seperate them again. In the seperation, Benoit and Angle rip Fit Finlay's shirt off. Finlay chases Angle out of the ring for a laugh. Angle re-enters the ring and delivers the olympic slam to Benoit. Lesnar hits the ring and hits back to back F5's on Benoit and Angle to finally clear the ring. Note - some of the post match stuff in the above paragraph may have happened after the cameras went off the air. Chimmel thanks everyone for coming. Taker vs. Lesnar has been littered with run-ins, (from Matt Hardy in particular) so this matches the whole point of a cage match. It also creates a 'no way out' situation for Brock - which works because their last match ended screwy. It is 'takers match' - so he can bring up how he shortened Michaels and Foleys respective careers in that cell - so when Brock does indeed beat Taker - it will mean that much more. The Angle/Benoit tag match next week should be heaps of fun. Why not have Rikishi/Henry vs. Faarooq/Dvon and Billy/Chuck vs. Chavo/Eddie? The end result would still be the same - it's just you could have the possibility of at least ONE good match with those combinations. Edge/Angle - some one better tape this. Benoit/Rey - I dunno - the match last week left a sour taste in my mouth about these two together. I will expect it to be good, but not *that* good. Knoble/Crash - DREAM MATCH!! Throw Funaki in there for a 3 way and I'd be in heaven. Why was there the bikini contest? That is RAW. Leave it on RAW. I guess that's what you get when you decide that your card should be main evented by Bubba FUCKING DUDLEY. Anyway, show looks good as always, Guerreros won, and the tag teams will actually be the main part of the show it looks like, although once again Teflon Edge makes his opponents look like twats. And lest we forget he was lynched at the end? Oh, and does Kennel in a Cell match count? Bossman's got two stinkers for Brock/Taker to try and beat.
