THE SMARKS JUNIOR LEAGUE IGNWF CONTRACT TOURNAMENT

 

All right kids, here's the breakdown!  On this special occasion of a new network, so to speak, we the JLCC proudly bring to you a special tournament!  The prize for the victors?  A pair of IGNWF contracts, signed, sealed and delivered!  This is a double elimination tournament: we will begin with 8 wrestlers, each competing in singles matches.  The four victors will move on to a Winners Round, and the four losers a Losers Round.  It works like this: 2 victories, and you've made it to the finals.  2 losses, and you're out.  You'll see how it shakes out as we get to the next card, but what it boils down to is this: at a climactic show, there will be two singles matches, the finals of the tournament.  The victors walk away with free rides to the big leagues.

 

This tournament won't last more than two weeks, so I encourage you to keep your storylines running.  People will gradually be eliminated, so within a week, some competitors will be back in the regular mix of things.  Good luck to all, and here's your first round!  All matches are straight-up singles matches, unless otherwise noted!

And the tournament is quite a nice way to begin the Smarks era of things.

 

Although K-Os would have to be very seriously favoured to pick up one of the contracts, almost any of the competitors can come through and get a contract to the WF.

 

They should all just be lucky that i'm gone (for now...), otherwise they wouldn't stand a chance

But anyways, pertaining to the match stipulation, I started with about 15 and narrowed it down to two. They are:

 

The Locked Suitcase Match-Like ladder match, but Euro Title locked in suitcase and key hidden SOMEWHERE in the arena. Fun, huh?

 

Pallet Town Street Fight Match-Same rules as a street fight, except the only way to win is to find the giant Poke Ball cleverly hidden somewhere in the arena and lock the opponent in it. Cool, huh?

 

Well anyways, decision will come after dinner, about 7 PM Eastern time because I need to think this over. ;;;;

Firstly i see we have Sacred as a guest commentator. That should prove fun for people to write, the evilness of Sacred, the zanyness of MacPhisto and the plainness of Axis should provide quite the contrast in styles, and should result in some very good commentary.

- The Reaper is back in town for the first time in a while, and i'm sure the largest wrestler in the JL will make an immediate impact. That said, Reaper masy have a little writing-rust due to being away so long, and Kojack is pretty good and steadily improving every match, so i think Kojack can take this one.

- Should be quite the contest. Ced is onto a good start to his JL career, and MVS has just been upended of the TV Title from the guest ref, Shawn Brody, who is now a Clannie. I think MVS will definately want to cash in a rematch, and a win here will gove hiom that shot. Ced could get an upset though, and if Brody writes his clannie powers could get him the win, chosing his next opponent. But i think MVS will just win.

-This could be quite the good match, but i think Mafia should be able to continue his charge back to form, and defeat Tomcat and NBK, who hopefully will get in a match after a couple of no-shows. If they do write both men have the ability to get the win, but i think Mafia should just have the edge.

- This should be a very good match, the two XF9'ers going at it for a win in the tourney and the Euro title. Erek's had that Europia title for quite a while, but i think it'll end here, as Ash wins in his chosen stip, and moves one step closer to an SWF contract. Erek though will have a hard fight to get through the tornament, but he certainly has the ability to be one of the two winners.

- Another very good match in the making, should be competitive. Either man could win, but i think Xero will win here, and get closer to at last making up to the WF.

 

Annie Eclectic vs. Renegade - send to crusen86

- In what should be the closest match of the first round, the former stablemates will no doubt bring the house down in an epic contest. Either of them can win, but Renegade is my choice to win, and he's also the first of my two picks to get an SWF contract.

- And here we have the second of my choices, K-Os. I've been one of his biggest advocates of him since his returned, and he's proved me right, mowing over all opponents on his way to the JL title. And as much as i like Low Brass (and believe me i do) i think K-Os will just be too much, and that goes for all his future opponents in the tournament as well.

I love Ash's gimmick match. I was reading it, and I was harkening back to the triple-threat, double-title match I wrote involving... Hey! It was Ash and Thoth, if I remember right... Anyway, there was a specific stip to it, ladder match I believe. And my match turned it into something completely different. This is kinda similar, and a very, very cool idea...

 

...Then I saw the part about the dress. I nearly busted a gut laughing. Nice one, Ash. I can't wait!

EDIT: I found the match, but obviously can't get to it, lacking Insider status. It's the 3-Way, 2-Title Ladder Match from IGNML (God, that's back a ways) Crimson, on or around June 17, 2001. I'll be greatful to the soul that can retrieve this for me.
