The WWE 3/4 awards

Recommended Posts

These are my 3/4 of the way through the year awards for the WWE. I figured since we've been getting a SHITLOAD of stuff that we actually rank, I might as well use it. Anywho...ON WITH THE AWARDS!!!

WWE Wrestler of the Year: There is no doubt in my mind that Kurt Angle is YOUR wrestler of the year. He has gotten ****+ matches out of Edge, Rey Mysterio, and taken guys like Billy Kidman and John Cena and gotten good matches out of them. Plus, he has had the match of the year with Chris Benoit. He has shined on the undercard for way too long, and in my opinion, when his big push comes for the WWE title, it will be well deserved.

Other considerations: Chris Benoit, Rob Van Dam, Eddie Guerrero

WWE Biggest Dissapointment of the Year: Easy EASY choice with this one...Triple H Since returning at Royal Rumble, he has not a match over *** except for the Michaels match, where Shawn just laid it all out and gave him something to work with. HHH then being given the world championship is just a slap in the face since Booker T and Rob Van Dam are easily more over and have proven themselves in the ring.

Other Considerations: The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Test

WWE Most Improved Wrestler: Another no doubter for me. It's Edge because in the last month alone, he has put up THREE ****+ matches, including the two ****+ matches he had with Kurt in the beginning of the year. I'm STILL hoping for an Edge/Benoit program, as in my mind, that might be the pinnacle for Edge.

Other Considerations: Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Bubba Ray Dudley

WWE Best Tag Team: I guess this has to go to Billy and Chuck since they had a nice little reign as champs. The fact that they really didn't get over until the whole marriage thing kinda hampers the pick, but there was really nobody else.

Other Considerations: Storm/Christian, Benoit/Guerrero

WWE Future Superstar: I'm still considering him part of the future: Brock Lesnar. He has shown that he has some of the tools he needs to be a big player. He just needs to get rid of that stupid bearhug and bust out the SSP already!!!

Other Considerations: John Cena, Bautista, Jaime Knoble

WWE Most Underused Talent: Here's my shocker...Ric Flair. I really think he can and could've been used better. He's only one of the greatest ever (I still think that Misawa, Kawada and Jumbo were better) and him being a bitch to the Big Show, and now being HHH's bitch is just a slap in the face of this man's nearly 30-year storied career. I do offer the WWE this little challenge: Find Ricky Steamboat. Find him now. I think that if he and Ric wrestled on the mat for 15 minutes, it'd be better than 90% of the matches we've seen this year. And that's with two people who have a horrible back problem...

Other Considerations: Booker T, Chris Jericho, Billy Kidman

WWE Conspiracy Victim: One winner...one winner only...Chris Jericho. I swear that if the glass ceiling was any shorter, than he would be about 5'6" and THEN he'd be more underutilized.

Other Considerations: RVD, anybody who has watched HHH in the last two months...

WWE Cruiserweight of the Year: Now THIS is a toughie...You could go with Mysterio, but I'm going with the Redneck Messiah. Jamie Knoble has been a really good cruiser since his debut way back when. He has been a really solid wrestler who has turned into a Benoit-like wrestler in that division. I see nothing but good things for this man, and if he ever gets a bigger push against a guy like Mysterio...watch out.

Other Considerations: Mysterio, Hurricane, Billy Kidman

WWE Feud of the Year: Without question in my mind, it has been the Angle/Benoit series. The sad part? It took them eight months to realize it...which is absolutely horrible...

Other Considerations: RVD/Brock, Rocky/Hogan, Jericho/HHH

WWE Woman of the Year: It was either Steph's tits or Trish Stratus...I think it's Trish Stratus and I'm sticking to it.

Other Considerations: Molly, Jazz, Nidia

The Outsider who could help out the WWE: Right now, if you look in NA, you see people like AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, Lo Ki, American Dragon, and many others who have stepped it up to new levels. In all that, I still think you need to go across the sea to find the next big talent. In what may be the biggest surprise out of these awards, Taiyo Kea could be the man who could help out the WWE a whole lot. He brings credentials of holding the AJPW Unified Tag Titles on many occasions, is a credible wrestler, and he's Hawaiian, which means that if he and Rocky ever got together...look out. I really see promise for him. He'd need to work on promos and such, but if he seriously was given a push as a guy who grew up with Rocky or something like that, and was a rival, we might have a nice little feud on our hands.

Other Considerations: AJ Styles, American Dragon, Chris Daniels

And finally...

WWE Match of the Year: I guess the fact that it came from the SmackDown! brand...the brand who had all the good wrestling talent didn't really play into it...did it? Sarcasm aside, it's Unforgiven 2002, and it's Angle/Benoit and it's a MOTHERFUCKING wrestling clinic. It's not the best match of the year in all of wrestling (w/ the 4-way from Week2 NWA:TNA and the Tenryu/Kojima AJPW Triple Crown match from July being a little bit better), but it kills most of the wrestling that year. I say mostly because I'm assuming Eddie, RVD, and Edge decided that they wanted a say in this category, as well.

Other Considerations: RVD/Eddie RAW Ladder match (6/26), Eddie/Edge (9/27 SmackDown!), Angle/Edge Hair vs. Hair Match

Those are my awards. Let the dispution and the addition of awards BEGIN!!!!

Wrestler of the Year: Kurt Angle... he's just the best.

Biggest Disappointment: Austin's "What" character and his eventual walkout.

Most Improved: Edge, no doubt about it.

Best Tag Team: Billy & Chuck

Future Star: Matt Hardy... probably around Version 3.1 he'll start getting really popular.

Underused: RVD... although he is a good candidate for conspiracy victim, too.

Conspiracy Victim: Dog Shit... Jericho... that's all you need to say.

Cruiserweight of the year: Rey Mysterio. Noble's matches are usually pretty boring, no matter how cool his character is.

Feud of the Year: Edge and Eddy

Woman of the Year: Victoria (year's not over yet... and she's definitely the best wrestler)

Outsider who could help: The well is dry with big names as far as I'm concerned. Only a return by Bret Hart would be monumental.

Match of the Year: Rock/Hogan... no technical points... ALL mark out value. And I loved it.

I'm assuming the year is starting with Royal Rumble 2002

Wrestler of the Year: KURT ANGLE . What more needs to be said?

Biggest Dissapointment: THE N.W.O.

Most Improved: TRISH STRATUS, she's gone from eye candy to a highly competent wrestler. Amazing

Best Tag Team: BILLY AND CHUCK by default

Future Star: BOOKER T, once he actually gets the ball handed to him he could turn into a mini-Rock. His face turn has been a success despite not getting many big wins. The spinaroonie is frightfully over.

Underused: CHRISTIAN, he's got charisma by the buckets full and he's being wasted in the mother of all "cheap heat" stables. Regal deserves better than that stable as well

Conspiracy Victim: JERICHO. He went from Undisputed champ to no match at Backlash. From there he jobbed in every PPV match until he defeated Flair at Unforgiven. Hhhmmmmm

Cruiserweight of the year: REY MYSERTIO, he's already shown more in three months than all the other cruisers this year combined. If he doesn't have the cruiser title by the end of the year I'll be shocked

Feud of the Year: This one is really hard as there hasn't been a long, high profile feud in the fed this year. Rock/Hogan was prolly the closest thing to a high profile feud but it lasted like 3 weeks. I'll go for the longest and probably the only feud where heat trading wasn't involved. EDGE/REGAL, sad ain't it?

Woman of the Year: TRISH

Outsider who could help: Heh, AUSTIN could come in handy around January once HHH burries all the faces on the roster.

Match of the Year: I haven't seen the Angle/Benoit match and there's a lot of really good matches I've seen that really don't stand out from one another. The Angle/Edge series, the Edge/Eddie series, and the RVD/Eddie series gave us lots of good stuff but nothing that blew other similiar matches away. In terms of workrate I'll go with EDGE/EDDIE from SD last week just because it's fresh in my head and it was really good. Although I know I've seen better this year. Not taking into account match quality I'd pick ROCK/HOGAN just because it was such a momentous match-up that got people talking for weeks. The match was awful, but it was an amazing 20 minute event that I remember more clearly than all the great matches (Angle/Edge, RVD/Eddie) from this year

Wrestler of The Year- Eddy G

Biggest Dissapointment- WrestleMania X8 (the whole thing). I would put HHH, but I wasn't expecting much so I wasn't really let down.

Most Improved- Edge.

Best Tag Team- GoldenBook or Spike and Tazz

Future Star- Lesnar, though he is a star already to some extent.

Underused- Chavo, no if's, ands or buts.

Conspiracy Victim- Not gonna bother, everybody already knows who it is.

Cruiser of The Year- Hurricane

Feud of The Year- Angle vs Benoit

Woman of the Year- The chick w/ the 5* booty, Trish "The Dish" Stratus

Outsider who could help- Low Ki or American Dragon. Probably Dragon, as we all know Low-Ki might toss a chair and injure a diva.

Match of The Year- Angle vs Benoit from Unforgiven or Eddy vs RVD Ladder Match from RAW.

I'll start from the silly awards and get to the serious awards.

WWE Best Tag Team

Billy & Chuck

(other nominees: Christian & lance Storm, Spike & Tazz, Hogan & Edge)

The only coherent team all year and they're really not as bad as they are made out to be. Christian & Storm lose out for a poorly booked push.

WWE Worst Wrestler

The Undertaker

(other nominees: Mark henry, Big Show, Hulk Hogan)

Taker takes the award as he is the highest profile of these nominated who appears to have not tried. Hogan actually impressed people with his effort and willingness to SELL, losing to Rock, Taker, Kurt Angle & Christian & lance Storm. The Undertaker after looking motivated up to Wrestlemania turned in a string of wretched performances vs. Austin, Hogan, Triple H, was carried by Rock & Angle to a good match at Vengeance then stnk it up at Summerslam and refused to job to the WWEs big project at Unforgiven.

WWE Dissapointment of the Year

Chris Jericho's title reign

(other nominees: Triple H's comeback, the nWo, Wrestlemania X8)

Poor booking, political problems and some uninspired work by Y2J led to a poor reign and the worst Wrestlemania ME in at least five years.

WWE Signing of 2002

Eddie Guerrero

(other nominees: Hulk Hogan, Rey Mysterio, Goldust)

The WWE took a risk on bringing Eddie back into the fold and he rewarded them with a good feud with RVD and a better feud with Edge. Inn tandem with Benoit, Eddie is a large proportion of why SD! is fast ebcoming the best wrestling show this author has ever seen.

WWE Breakout star of 2002

Edge

(other nominees: Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Rey Mysterio)

Edge has recived a solid push since April and has not dissapointed. He recieves some of the biggest pops on SD! and continues to improve as a performer. Only an image upgrade and better mike skills stand between him and the ME.

WWE PPV of the Year

Summerslam

(other nominees: Unforgiven, King of the Ring, Wrestlemania X8)

Easily the best PPV so far this year.

WWE Match of the Year

Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit (Unforgiven)

(other nominees:

Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero No DQ Smackdown!

Chris Benoit vs. Rob Van Dam Summerslam

Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H Summerslam)

Great. Beats the HBK - HHH match by pushing the furture of the WWE over its past and present.

WWE Wrestler of the Year

Kurt Angle

(other nominees: Eddie Guerrero, Triple H, The Rock)

Hands down remains over and putting on GREAT matches despite some political troubles. 2nd in Royal Rumble, defeated HHH at No Way Out (**1/2), defeated Kane at Wrestlemania (***), defeated Edge at backlas (*** 1/2), lost to Edge at Judgement Day (*** 1/2), defeated Hulk Hogan at KOTR (**), lost World Title match to Rock at Vengeance (*** 1/2), defeated Rey at Summerslam (*** 1/2), lost to Benoit at Unforgiven (*****).

OK Backlash should have been lower, but Im being kind to Angle. I never saw the Backlash match due to PPV rights battles in the Uk and only have people's words to go on. I've heard *** and **** for that match and thought to tread the middle ground.

Anyway if Id given it **** 1/2 I wouldve got flamed for being a HHH hater and loads of flame saying that Edge doesnt deserve that much.

Guest El Psycho Diablo

Wrestler of the Year:

Eddy Guerrero. Plain and simple, everything the man touches is gold. Even Rikishi and Mark Henry looked watchable with Eddy (and Chavo) in the ring. Eddy took Edge, somehow kicked the stupidity out of him, and made a MOTYC with him, on FREE TV. He's charismatic, he's over, and he's more than talented. Even when stuck with a stereotypical gimmick and accent, Eddy delivers.

Runner Up: Kurt Angle (Would have been my #1 pick, except for his constant humilliation this year)

Considerations: Chris Benoit (was only allowed to put on real matches with guys after he got off Raw)

Biggest Disappointment:

I'd say the nWo, but I wasn't watching as much as I was now. I'll go with The Un-American Angle . This could have been so much more, but was stuck with bad writing (We Hate America! That's all.), worse opponents (Rikishi, Mark Henry, Undertaker, Bradshaw), and weekly humilliation. (Being made fools of by Rikishi, Henry, Undertaker, Bradshaw, and themselves) Instead of following a working formula (Hart Foundation, Team Canada, etc) Vince had to delve into the 9/11 mess, and resort to flag burning. These guys would have looked SO much better had they been allowed to dominate and wrestle good opponents..instead they were beaten up every week. The WWE's problem lies in not being able to push heels not named "HHH" and "Lesnar". Heels have to win to be credible ..and this is a great example of why.

Runner Ups: The nWo (never allowed to dominate), Chris Jericho (massive depush, ringwork suffering, character is a joke), and Brock Lesnar (An undeserving rookie gets to go over nearly the entire roster because he's even bigger than HHH..and that's it.)

Considerations: The entire year in writing.

Most Improved:

It's hard to think of anyone in particular who's shone brightly, but I'll give it a try. I can't say Edge like the rest seem to be, as he's just not "complete" yet. His character is stale, and he tends to humilliate his opponents to the point of making them look worthless. I'll give him (or the writers) credit on NOT doing that with Eddy, or Angle yesterday on SD.

This may not count, but I'll say Smackdown . Mostly Raw-lite, this show has been "must miss" for a long, long time now..even with the roster stacked so much to it's advantage that it's not funny. RAW was given a sub-par roster, yet managed to have some good shows. Smackdown was given a great roster, yet had poor shows. The choice of Heyman as head writer must have done something, as this show seems to have a fire to it now. They seem to be growing the "testicular fortitude" to let guys go out there and put on long, great matches..because they know the core audience wants it. Guys like Rikishi, Mark Henry, Undertaker, and Brock Lesnar are finally being shoved into token segments and matches, while the actual talent (Eddy, Edge, Angle, Mysterio, and Benoit) are allowed to shine. Now if they'd only let Chavo, Tajiri, Kidman, Funaki, and co. do the same for the cruiser division..

Runner Up: Trish Stratus (She's just amazing. A fitness model to a good women's wrestler)

Consideration: Edge (Character still dull, promos lacking)

Best Tag Team:

Billy and Chuck . Not much of a choice here.

Future Star:

I'll go with my feelings and say Rey Mysterio . He's over, he puts on good matches, and he dosen't deserve to be stuck in a go-nowhere cruiser division. You see signs, and even hear chants for the guy. His promos are somewhat lacking..but like people say for another wrestler around here..his ringwork speaks for him.

Runner Up: Rob Van Dam (Fun to watch, puts on good matches, can identify with the crowd. Promo ability isn't the best..but his natural charisma and cocky manner makes up for it.)

Considerations: Edge (The WWE is "never gonna stop" until people see Edge as a main eventer..no matter who they have to sacrifice)

Underused:

The self-proclaimed King of the World.. Chris Jericho . When inspired, he's a good wrestler. His promo abilitiy is second only to The Rock himself in the current roster. A proven great heel, and face..he's been the victim of an Act of God (or Satan, depending). Someone just dosen't want Chris up to the main events. Getting cheers and chants despite being a heel..people WANT to see Jericho succeed. He was a great face, and while stale to some of us in the IWC..people still loved him. This proves a heel turn isn't the answer to staleness in the WWE, until they learn how to book guys that aren't roided up as heels. (Lesnar, HHH)

Runner Up: Rob Van Dam. (So over it's scary..and they still won't give the fans what they want)

Consideration: The entire Cruiserweight division (Crash isn't a cruiser. He's an abomination.)

Conspiracy Victim:

Jericho takes it. Look above.

Cruiserweight of the year:

Again, I'll say Rey Rey. I thought they'd be jobbing him out after a big debut, but he's over..and in the main event two weeks running.

Feud of the Year:

This has been a bad year for feuds. I'll go with Eddy/RVD from a couple of months ago. They had a roughly even feud, and two great matches against each other (JD, Raw)

Woman of the Year:

Trish..for reasons everybody's stated.

Outsider who could help:

Provided their ego would get out of the way..Ultimo Dragon. The guy's not only a great wrestler (or was) but more importantly, he runs a promotion in Japan that puts out some damn good light-heavyweight wrestlers. Past events have shown that guys can get over without speaking a word (Tajiri was really over at one time, but they HAD to squash him). If they're serious about the cruiser division, a couple of guys from Toryumon could do wonders to freshen it up.

Match of the Year:

Eddy Guerrero vs Edge Smackdown, No DQ. Simply amazing. Eddy reigns in Edge, and kicks his ass into making a great match, and on free TV no less. While guys on PPV are specially looking to put on great matches, guys on TV aren't necessarily the same. Even though Edge won, Eddy showed why he should be in title contention..while guys like Lesnar and HHH should have to prove themselves before being handed belts.

WWE Wrestler of the Year: Kurt Angle

Who can compete with the body of work this guy has pumped out since the year began?

WWE Biggest Dissapointment of the Year: NWO

Take one of the greatest heel stables ever with all of it's original members, remove it's balls, then watch it flounder untill it's mercifully killed.

WWE Most Improved Wrestler: Edge

He has made amazing strides this past year and has shown that he is more than capable of hanging with Kurt Angle, William Regal, Eddie and Guerrero

WWE Best Tag Team: Billy and Chuck

Throughout the year, they have been the only team that has remained together. Their work as a team hasn't been to shabby either.

WWE Future Superstar: Matt Hardy

Tough choice between Matt and Edge, but I believe Edge is already there. Matt has improved a great deal on the mic and in the ring and has a nice gimmick going for himself. Unless he gets severely injured, I can't see him not being a big star in the future.

WWE Most Underused Talent: Raven

Not having this guy doing something on Raw, when they don't have many talented guys on there to begin with, is a shame. While he may be getting up there in age, he's still healthy and is still able to produce a good performance.

WWE Conspiracy Victim: Chris Jericho

He jobbed to Velocity regular John Cena on Pay Per View, he played second fiddle to Stephanie and a dog, jobbed to a 50+ year old man (Flair) on one of the biggest shows of the year, and many more reasons I can't remember right now. This shows that you shouldn't piss off the wrong people.

WWE Cruiserweight of the Year: Rey Misterio

He beat Benoit twice and is one of the most over wrestlers on Smackdown.

WWE Feud of the Year: Hulk Hogan Vs The Rock

The matches might not hold up to Angle Vs Edge or Angle Vs Benoit, but there hasn't been a feud that has gotten as much heat or has been as much of an emotional roller coaster as this one. Besides, I have to fit Hogan in here somewhere.

WWE Woman of the Year: Nidia

The WWE writers and Nida have done a good job of turning "that chick from tough enough that nobody gives a shit about" into a really solid character and a solid wrestler.

The Outsider who could help out the WWE: Bill Goldberg

Nobody could even come close to making as much of an impact except for maybe Scott Steiner.

WWE Match of the Year: Kurt Angle Vs Chris Benoit

Really great match by two of the best

Wrestler of the year: Eddie. Involved in Match and Feud OTY, see below.

Shittiest Wrestler: Undertaker. He makes me vomit. *punch*punch*punch*

Biggest Dissapointment: Losing Austin. Well, shit, there goes the 90's

Most Improved: Edge (solo)

Best Tag Team: Billy&Chucky

Future Star: Nowinski

Underused: Chavo. This last Smackdown proved it, where the hell have they been jobbing him!?

Overused: Undertaker. Coupled with the fact that hes so horrid.

Conspiracy Victim: Jericho.

Most HHHeld down: RVD. Yah yah, that makes two of em.. but RVD is new to the supression game.

Cruiserweight of the year: Hurricane. He's definately noteable.

Feud of the Year: Eddy/RVD.

Woman of the Year: Trish

Outsider who could help: Baby Jesus couldnt save this sinking ship.

Match of the Year: Edge/Eddy no DQ

Wrestler of the year: Eddie Guerrero

Easy pick here. Throw in his indy work, and this is the wrestler of the year maybe. If the dividing line is the Edge feud, Guerrero takes it no problem.

Biggest Dissapointment: nWo

What a shock. Bring in a drunk, a hair stylist, and have Hogan play off them and use them.

Most Improved: Rey Mysterio

Mysterio started off the year with his knees shot and really no idea how to get the most out of his work. But he slowly built a mat game, added solid psychology, and focused on working the ricky Morton roll of the match until he went from being one of the best fliers in the world who couldn't fly to one of the best workers in the world.

Best Tag Team: Billy & Chuck

Future Star: Brock Lesnar

I'll pimp this guy here. Basically, unless you're a certain person, you can see some degree of improvement in his work and aside from booking he's done pretty well. By the end of this reign, he should be elevated and should have elevated someone else, whomever takes the title.

Underused: Jaime Knoble

Love the guy, but he doesn't get used as much as he said. Great wrestler and talker; he needs to showcase these skills more.

Conspiracy Victim: RVD

Cruiserweight of the year: Noble

Despite not enough time he's just a joy to watch entertain. RUNNING WATER~!

Feud of the Year: Edge/Eddie

Eddie got the most out of Edge and actually projected his hatred in these matches. Guerrero is such a fun worker, and Edge tries so hard.

Woman of the Year: Molly

Outsider who could help: None

I'm tired of people coming in. Work with your own guys, there's no one left to pillage except Lynn.

Match of the Year: Eddie/Edge from SmackDown

Hands down, best match I've seen all year. Better than the ROH three-way I pimp. The psychology and build and pace and finish and everything was so perfect for the feud. ****1/4

Wrestler of the year: Kurt Angle

The guy can bring it on the mic, bring it in the ring and is just a joy to watch. Eddy came in in April so I can't give it to him.

Biggest Dissapointment: nWo

I didn't think the angle would be so bad that Vince would have to kill it himself.

Most Improved:Edge

I know he worked with great opponents but his matches with Angle, Eddy, Regal and Jericho were all awesome and showed he can do more then ladder matches.

Best Tag Team: Billy & Chuck

Future Star: Brock Lesnar

I hate Cena and Orton, haven't seen enough of Batista and well Rico is 41.

Underused: William Regal

I watch RAW just for him. (I could live w/o my weekly spinaroonie). And the WWE puts him with Team Canada and then breaks it up like a day later.

Conspiracy Victim: Booker T.

The man is a former 5 time WCW champio, made WCW somewhat watchable in 2000, comes to the WWF and gets essentially jobbed out , turns face and then gets jobbed out some more. This despite being one of the most over faces in the company and the guy who actually made Goldust's return look like a smart thing yet gets jobbed out to the Island Boys in his hometown.

Cruiserweight of the year: Rey Mysterio

Feud of the Year: RVD v. Eddy

5 awesome matches all in the span of about two months. Wow.

Woman of the Year: Trish

Two years ago she was a valet with big tits. She still has big tits but can bring it in the ring.

Outsider who could help: Jarrett

I'd love to see Jarrett back.

Match of the Year: Benoit v. Angle from Unforgiven

A smidge better then the MSG ladder match between RVD v. Eddy. I was feeling this match and getting so into it I nearly had a heart attack. All the counters and everything else- WOW! *****

Wrestler of the year: Kurt Angle

Add my voice to the throng. No one has been as consistantly entertaining, while still bringing the matwork that you love. Eddie Guerrero & Benoit haven't been around long enough this year to provide Kurt competition with competition.

Biggest Dissapointment: Jerry Lawler returns to commentary

Did this happen this year or last? Oh well, it's in the ballpark. This man is basically destroying RAW through his inane and juvenile rantings. Making the standbearer show of WWE a "must mute" event is much worse than the nWo did, since I wasn't expecting anything out of them anyway.

Most Improved: Chavo Guerrero Jr.

I know that Chavo has always been a proficient wrestler, but these last few months have seen him take it up a notch as far as his in ring character is concerned. No longer a crazy guy with a horse or a Misfit in Action, Chavo has found his nitch as a sneaky bastard who works your body over like a machine.

Best Tag Team: Billy & Chuck

No brainer, ever since the Al Snow/Maven feud, B&C have had consistantly good matches against everyone they've come across from Moore/Hurricane to Hogan/Edge to Angle/Benoit to Noble/Tajiri. The difference between Billy in a tag tema and him as a single is unbelievable.

Future Star: Edge

Yeah, he's established now, but I think the bigger things are going to be coming to Edge pretty soon. And when they do, I have faith that Edge will be able to carry the ball.

Underused: Tajiri

The man could be about a 1,000,000 times more over if they made him a face against Noble and actually let him go over against the Mark Henry's of thew world. Instead, he's a sidekick with nothing going on.

Conspiracy Victim: RVD

Dude is really over and should be chasing HHH around like he stole his doobies. Instead, RVD is teaming with Tommy Dreamer.... huh?

Cruiserweight of the year: Uhm.... Hurricane

I like The Hurricane, and he should do well in the Kane team as the Ricky Morton. I just wish they'd stop putting nontalents like Crash over him for no good reason.

Feud of the Year: Triple H vs. The Internet

Woman of the Year: Trish

Outsider who could help (if he didn't go and shoot movies 8 months out ot the year): The Rock

Match of the Year: Edge vs. Eddie No DQ

Since I haven't seen any PPVs this year, I'm stuck with TV. Thankfully, they're putting great matches on Smackdown lately. This has been my favorite of the bunch.

Wrestler of the year: There are a lot of people who can fit this description, but from an unbiased wrestling standpoint, it all goes to Kurt Angle.

Biggest Dissapointment: Easy answer. The WWE. The year has been a little hard to get through, with everything from a crappy Wrestlemania, a crappy nWo return, a crappy Flair return, a crappy roster split angle, a crappy title reign for just about every holder of the new crappy Undisputed title. Things are starting to look up, but too long too late.

Most Improved: Goldust. Edge comes close, but who'd have though Goldust would actually entertain us. If this were based soley on matwork, though, Edge would have gotten it. GET A BETTER CHARACTER EDGE, and maybe you'll get my insignificant award next year.

Best Tag Team: It was a bad year for tag teaming. I'd have to say BookerDust. Not really an official tag team, but a team nonetheless. Entertained us during some horrible, horrible shitfests of RAW. Thanks, guys.

Future Star: Undertaker, that young up-and-comer has a lot of potential, you know. Actually, the award goes to Chris Harvard. Dedication moves you up in the world, and Harvard is showing us just how much he wants it.

Underused: Angle. The wrestler of the year hasn't done anything worth the while for some time. Instead of an old sloth and a punk ass green kid who just got the ability to legally drink, Angle should be at the top. He should be the one Brock and the other new additions watch to learn from. Of course, Vince probably thinks the other way around. Oh well.

Conspiracy Victim: Jericho or Booker. Hmm, no...I'd say The Kliq. They're dying off in mysterious ways. Run HHH run. In fact, don't. Don't even walk slowly. Nash can vouch for that.

Cruiserweight of the year: Hurricane.

Feud of the Year: RVD/Eddy.

Woman of the Year: Trish. Not only is she putting on great matches (through channeling the Japan Purists), she's also a big fan of Kevin Smith movies. And she wrestles. And she's pretty beautiful too. Woman of the year? Oh yeah, sucker.

Outsider who could help: Hard question. I'm not sure how much anybody could help, in terms of shock factor. Not even Bischoff could zenk ratings up. In terms of breakoutfulness and abilities, I'd go for nobody. They'd fuck it up anyway, so work with the shit you've got. When you can make a Bradshaw/Crash Holly match *****, then we'll talk.

Match of the Year: RVD/Eddy - RAW I.C. Title Ladder match.

I will not call it WWE

WWF Wrestler of the Year: Kurt Angle. The matches just speak for themselves

WWF Biggest Dissapointment of the Year: Easily Brock. The man came in, and everyone had such high hopes, and we got this

WWF Most Improved Wrestler: Edge. The SpearDork has really went down in the last onth, and the good matches have gone up.

WWF Best Tag Team: Benoit and Guerrero by default.

WWF Future Superstar: Chavo. He's really done good fro himself since Eddy came to Smackdown.

WWF Most Underused Talent: Kurt Angle. There is no reason for him to be a midcarder.

WWF Conspiracy Victim: Jericho. DUH.

WWF Cruiserweight of the Year: Rey? Yeah, good enough.

WWF Feud of the Year: I've yet to see a good feud this year. Seriously, if it was best series of matches, I'd have one, but not one feud has been above "blah" this year.

WWF Woman of the Year: Jazz. Please Come Back soon

The Outsider who could help out the WWF: Steve Austin. Double Duh.

And finally...

WWF Match of the Year: Angle/Benoit at Unforgiven. Triple Duh.

Wrestler of the Year: Eddy Guerrero (Best by far. How he has returned and made EVERYONE look golden is amazing.)

Biggest Disappointment: Triple H (Deteriorating body + Lack of face heat = backstage politics. Used to be fairly good, but has resumed Hogan's role of politiking himself over the more talented stars. Just can't let go. The nWo wasn't exactly a disappointment, the injury of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall's firing was. It would have gotten over, just had too many obsticales.

Most Improved: Chavo Guerrero.

Best tag Team: Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit

Future Superstar: Sean O'Haire

Underused Talent: William Regal

Conspiracy Victim: Chris Jericho

Feud of the Year: Eddie/RVD

Match of the Year: Eddie/RVD Ladder Match

Woman of the Year: Torrie Wilson

Cruiserweight of the Year: Tie Jamie Noble & Rey Mysterio

Outsider: Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles for Smackdown. Scott Steiner, Steve Austin, and Scott Hall for RAW. Hall and Nash together are good business. There is no questioning that.

I can't give Jericho conspiracy victim anymore.

He just resigned a contract...so it's his own fault now.

RVD didn't ask to be elavated and depushed every 2 months.

Wrestler of the Year: Kurt Angle

There is noone else even close. He has had the best match on nearly every show, even when he is facing guys like Cena & Kane.

Biggest Disapointment: Triple H

I had no faith in the nWo to being with, but I did like HHH before the injury. Not only the biggest disapointment of the year, but probably the biggest disapointment in the WWF since they went on for ages about the signing of a 'major internation superstar' only to have it be Tiger Ali Singh.

Most Improved: Matt Hardy

I have always liked Edge, he has improved, but he is also facing better opponents. I used to HATE Matt Hardy, but he has one me over recently. More with his character than his ring work. I never thought I would be saying that about a Hardy.

Best Tag Team: Eddy Guerrero & Chris Benoit

Not as good as Benoit & Malenko, but this is about the next best thing.

Future Superstar: Chavo Guerrero

Speaking of Guerreros, he has to potential to rise higher in the WWF than his uncle.

Most Underused Talent: Chavo Guerrero

For approx. 90% of the period in question, Chavo was lucky to get on TV. Its gotten better recently, so I might need someone new for the end of year poll.

Conspiracy Victim: Booker T

Jericho had his shot, and although it wasn't his fault, he flopped. Booker is still waiting, despite being more over than anyone else on RAW. They don't even consider him worthy enough of being one half of the tag champs.

Feud of the Year: Jericho/Rock

It carried over from the previous year, but I will still count it, since it lasted until the Royal Rumble, but it is head & shoulders above everything else.

Match of the Year: Edge/Guerrero, Smackdown

I haven't seen a PPV since Wrestlemania, so I can't comment on those, but this was the best free TV match all year. I don't watch TV much anymore either, but I will watch the repeat of the show if there is a match that generates a lot of buzz. Second best that I have seen is Jericho/Rock from way back in January. I didn't like RVD/Guerrero at all.

Woman of the Year: Jazz

She wasn't around for long, but for that short time, she single-handedly rescued the division.

CW of the Year: Jamie Noble

I don't count Misterio as he never really was in the division. He's above that. Noble is good, he just isn't used very well.

Wrestler of the Year: Eddy Guerrero

His performance especially in the last two months has been transcendental. His matches with Edge would in any other year be Feud of the Year.

Biggest Disapointment: Triple H

Most Improved: Trish

From eye candy to one of the best bumpers among the women. Say what you want about the many Trish/Molly matches, they did butch her up.

Best Tag Team: Billy and Chuck. Also winners for best theme song.

Future Superstar: Victoria.

Most Underused Talent: Funaki

Conspiracy Victim: Booker T. Despite being one of the most over, he is not mega pushed yet. Why???

Feud of the Year: Trish/Molly. I select this because of potential and its long term. This should have been the best feud in American Women's wrestling history, and it still can be. But the Worst Angle of the Year ("Fat ass") as a maguffin, and people saying that nobody cares about women's wrestling took this down a few pegs. Instead of going through the motions, they still tear at each other's throats. That's dedication. Let's hope it is not for a lost cause.

Match of the Year: Hogan/Rock. So what if it wasn't a spotfest?? The two swayed the fans to and fro like few matches have ever been done. The Rock proved once and for all that he is the best wrestler-entertainer as he so slickly turn heel and face in the same match in response to the fans being all over Hulk Hogan. Bad part is that it also proves that there can't be no strong heels anymore.

Woman of the Year: Molly

As Torrie Wilson says, she makes others look good. And she does it without doing a single stupid move in the ring. Brock started his monster push by clotheslining Molly. Bubba thinks he can take on the world, even HHH, after powerslamming Molly through a table. She has that effect on people. She also helped Trish and the other women perform well in the ring. And she took all the crap angles with uncommon grace.

CW of the Year: Hurricane
