Guest BAR Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Not too long ago I got two tapes from SST, coincidentally both tapes kinda flicker through for the same amount of time. I don't know if this is the tapes or my VCR. I assume it's the tapes but it's a bit weird that both tapes fuzz at the start for the same amount of time. I've recently ordered my last tape from him, I hope this one ain't the same.
Chunk Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 does the owner of SST have any connection with the FWA? Is he/she a wrestler? cheers ChUnK!
Guest BAR Posted October 8, 2002 Report Posted October 8, 2002 I don't think so but he is the 'official' distributer.
Chunk Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 whats the video quality like on his fwa tapes?
Guest BAR Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I assume it's really good, but that's only an educated guess. Anybody know?
Guest Andy Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 FWA tape quality isn't great from SST, despite them being the official distributor. They're still the best FWA tapes you're likely to find though, unless you live in one of the broadcast areas. With FWA tapes, it's usually the sound that suffers the most. In my opinion, it's only ever safe to get tapes from SST on the day, at a FWA event. Otherwise it takes ages to get your tapes. Also, I sent them an e-mail about a week ago, which they haven't even bothered responding to yet. Andy
Guest BAR Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Tell me about it, I ordered a tape about 2 weeks ago, still no tape. This is my last order.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Funnily enough, StrongStyleTapes has always been really good with me. Waiting 2 weeks for a tape isn't even that bad. I waited a month for some WWF tapes from SilverVision YES-The Official WWF Tape distributor- takes a month to deliver tapes.

Ain't it funny, My SST suff takes 3 weeks and my SV stuff only takes 2-3 days, opposite way around.
Guest Anorak Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 I've never had much of a problem with SST, tapes aren't super quick coming or anything but I'm confident that I'll get what I ordered without any really bad hassle. The tape I oredered from Silvervision nearly three weeks ago still hasn't shown though so that's pretty annoying.
Guest BAR Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 3 weeks ago? Shit, they must be busy with the panda stipulation about not selling old tapes and all after november.
Guest Last Warrior Posted October 16, 2002 Report Posted October 16, 2002 I bought FWA: volume 8 off of him at uprising and I watched it with no problems. The sound was good and the picture quality was good. As I said in another post this has always been the same for me and SST. He is the only place to buy FWA tapes in the world. i believe that he also has the european license for PWF as well. He is a man who runs it. To the best of my knowledge he has never been a wrestler. He certainly doen look like he has ever been one - (short and chubby).

Guest Anorak Posted October 17, 2002 Report Posted October 17, 2002 I ordered Survivor Series 87 for a mate of mine who has that one particular event missing from his PPV collection. Silvervision took payment for the vid way back on the 25th so I sent them a second e-mail to ask exactly when I can expect delivery of my tape. It turned out I was misinformed about HMV as there was no sale at all. Sometimes even your friends can give you unrelaible info or simply get their wires crossed somehow. The only old school tapes avaliable were Wrestlemania 1, 3, 4, 8 & 10 for a ridiculous 15/16 quid. I thought it would be common sense to have a clearance sale but no luck. With no sale bargains and Silvervision being so slow I think I might just get any other event off my mate because he's got absolutely everything bar SS87. I'm doing enough for him with that and 8 tapes from SST I've ordered for him as well so that's surely a fair deal.

Sometimes even your friends can give you unrelaible info or simply get their wires crossed somehow. No sale at HMV? That's odd. There is a sale at HMV in my area at the moment and there have been adverts about it in the national press too. They had some newer WWF DVD's for cheap (about £9.99). However, they do overcharge for old-school tapes like Wrestlemania at around £16. I'm just thankfully I get 10% off thanks to my Student Union card or I probably wouldn't shop there.
Chunk Posted October 17, 2002 Report Posted October 17, 2002 Theres no sale at my local HMV either. I went there to check it out but there all still full price! I asked the guy if there was a sale or if they would be having a sale, but he didnt know. I got him to go and ask someone who would know, and he brought back the "video manager" who is responsible for ordering all videos. He knew nothing of sivervision not selling old tapes anymore and he told me that he had no plans to start a sale in the shop! Damn! Why is there no sale in my area? ChUnK!
