Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Oh wow. Just when you thought the Kane is a murderer angle is the worst angle ever, now Mean Mark Calloway cheats on Sara, his wife, who is pregnant.. Way to go WWE, you've managed to outdo yourself in a span of 24 hours (72 when it airs..) If it werent for the fact that I enjoy watching Smackdown early because theres nothing else on a 1 in the morning, I probably wouldnt watch it..
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 This week: 4 matches and a crappy pregnancy/stalker/who knocked her up/who's sleeping with who angle. I don't think this was Heyman booking. I think most people have already read about Vince getting certain nonsensical angles onto the shows as their new direction for Raw and Smackdown, which started with Victoria's "past" with Trish, then the Kane/Katie Vick murder angle, and unfortunately, it now seems to have carried over on the more wrestling-oriented show Smackdown.
Guest midnight_burn Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I knew it was only a matter of time before they did some stupid "pregnancy/stalker/who knocked her up/who's sleeping with who" angle. Boy, wacky muder angle on one show, now this crap on the other, it's MUST SEE TV~!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Stolen from here Dark Matches: Shannon Moore def. Spanky Bill DeMott (Hugh Morrus)/Val def. Shelton/Bull (yay, go Hugh!) Velocity: Ron Simmons def. Chuck (WHY???) Chavo def. Crash Albert def. Funaki Smackdown: well, pretty much covered here already. --Nice to see Kidman make his once-every-3-months appearance on SD. --this Chavo/Eddy vs. Benoit/Angle mini-feud is rocking my world.
Guest jester Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Undertaker enters the ring and nails Lesnar in the face with his cast. Lesnar and Heyman make a quick exit. Because he's a monster heel! Why, he almost very nearly thought about maybe standing up to Spike Dudley last week! Even if he wins at No Mercy, Brock is still going to end up looking like a complete bitch. AllTakerNoGiver is going to humiliate him again. Marketh mine words.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 How many times is Stephanie gonna screw up? Last week she said if Benoit & Angle don't get along their be suspended for a Year. "STARTING NOW." Then they fight at the end of the show? Nothing on that this week? This week she said if Taker attacked Brock, He'll be out of the main event. Taker attacks Brock at the end of the show. What in the Bloody Blue Hell is this crap?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Trying to apply logic to the WWE is only going to make your head explode.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Brock should bring in DDP as his Stalker consultant. Undertaker should bring in David Flair to help find out who's the real baby's daddy.
Guest Trivia247 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Sooo Kane is a Murderer And the Undertaker Cheat on his wife... Whats next Benoit beats up Midgets?
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 No, Benoit wouldn't just beat them up for no reason, it would be out of jealousy that the midget in question's arms are longer then Benoits. And RavenEffect, I agree, this is NOT a Heyman storyline. There was a big production meeting on RAW about how they wanted to write more soap-opera type material to draw back the casual fans, I'm sure the same thing happened on Smackdown.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The problem is, SD was chugging along just fine by focusing on the wrestling, and getting great feedback from pretty much everybody (which the WWE even admitted). Why mess that up by interjecting lame storylines like this?
Guest Goodear Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 And RavenEffect, I agree, this is NOT a Heyman storyline. Yeah, because Heyman has never written a storyline involving women and who they are screwing... Oh wait.
Guest cabbageboy Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Kane murdered some girl...UT cheats on his pregnant wife. God the whole family is nothing but white trash.
Guest godthedog Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Kane murdered some girl...UT cheats on his pregnant wife. God the whole family is nothing but white trash. well, you gotta have somebody your core audience can relate to.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 tajiri and rey sacrificed to brock and edge? I guess this is what they meant when they said there would be more SWERVES~ now.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Yeah, because Heyman has never written a storyline involving women and who they are screwing... Heyman's tried to make Smackdown into the wrestling-oriented show(I don't deny he did write some bad angles for ECW at times though), up until Vince said he'd be going along in this stupid "new direction for Raw and Smackdown" and judging by that, it sounds more like Vince called for the "Who's sleeping with who?" angle that happens on Smackdown this week than Heyman, which will no doubt hurt the quality of Smackdown if this recent downturn for it continues.
Guest godthedog Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 smackdown still wasn't an entirely wrestling-oriented show, we still had that bikini crap. most of us (including myself) just ignored it.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Damnit, I HATE this Benoit/Angle feud. It's getting into nausitatingly bad territory now. The big blow of match better be ***** after sitting through 3 months of this drek.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The problem is, SD was chugging along just fine by focusing on the wrestling, and getting great feedback from pretty much everybody (which the WWE even admitted). Why mess that up by interjecting lame storylines like this? Smackdown doing great, then all of a sudden we get this shit? That's just HHHeinous.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 smackdown still wasn't an entirely wrestling-oriented show, we still had that bikini crap. most of us (including myself) just ignored it. Right, I agree on that part.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Kane murdered some girl...UT cheats on his pregnant wife. God the whole family is nothing but white trash. well, you gotta have somebody your core audience can relate to. LOL! Those two quotes shall now go into my sig.
Guest Banky Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Oh yes, the Benoit vs. Angle fued has been painful to watch, so painful in fact that I've begun to watch my best of Aldo Montoya:the USWA years tape. You are the most ungrateful and stubborn wrestling fan EVER. Comic book guy - move over. Ass.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 The match was great. The feud around it sucks.
Guest Banky Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 How does it suck? I don't understand? Because both are heels? Did their fued in 2001 suck? If it didn't, you can't say this one sucks because they are quite similar.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 How does it suck? I don't understand? Because both are heels? Did their fued in 2001 suck? If it didn't, you can't say this one sucks because they are quite similar. They are both main event level heel feuding with each other in the midcard FOR NO REASON while they both lose all their matches. This feud blows.
Guest Banky Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 This fued blows, Edge sucks, Lesnar is overated, WWF sucks, wah wah C'mon man, take it for what its worth. Who cares if it isn't main eventing, its all about being entertained? Does the fact that their segment doesn't close the show make it any less valid? They are two main event wrestlers fueding - thats it. The only thing that might make it a "mid card fued" is that they aren't competing for a title. Neither of them have suffered from fighting one another, in fact, it shows how equally talented both are and everyone always puts over that they put on the best matches. Cole and Tazz always shill their matches. Either one of these guys could fight Lesnar at the next PPV and be thought of as a serious contender. I know you'll dispute this, but please add some logic. Don't say neither have been buried too much because that isn't true, and don't say the fued would suck - because that is your way out of any disagreement.
Guest Anglesault Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Who cares if it isn't main eventing, its all about being entertained? Does the fact that their segment doesn't close the show make it any less valid? No, the feud is horrible because a) they are not feuding for a legitimate reason. "Ooh, you laughed at me, I hate you!" b) They have lost most of their matches since this feud started. That's just stupid. c) "Wacky tag partners who hate each other" is the most unbearably boring way to continue a feud I know. d) They are both wasted in this role. e) It would help both guys invovled and the world title if they were feuding over the world title.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 smackdown still wasn't an entirely wrestling-oriented show, we still had that bikini crap. most of us (including myself) just ignored it. Well, at least they lead to a match occasionally on SD (see Torrie vs. Nidia -> C&B vs. Tajiri/Knoble)
Guest godthedog Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 Who cares if it isn't main eventing, its all about being entertained? Guest Anglesault Posted October 10, 2002 Report Posted October 10, 2002 a) Then why haven't they hated each other since benoit's return? They just started hating each other for no real reason, and no reference to history. b) There was no need to lose to Billy and Chuck. No reason for them both to lose last week, Benoit didn't touch Angle, so that just made Angle look stupid, and the Angle run in in the Benoit match went against an earlier order from Stephanie, which was just ignored. c) I'll tell you. They'll team well for an indertminate amount of time until they lose and brawl again. There, I just saved us around three weeks of boring TV. d) DEPTH? And yes, not having them fight for the title is wasting them. Or at least in some kind of serious main event feud like Austin/HHH last year.
