Guest cynicalprofit Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Just watched rumbles 95, 96, and 2000...so the mind got to wandering...whos gonna win this years. HHH, obviously. But if they put the Rumble winner gets title shot at mania, I say Kurt Angle. Long shots: Austin Goldberg Scott Steiner. Who do you thinks gonna take it?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Well.. My money is on Taker, HHH, Lesnar, or Austin. They won't let anyone else get any semblance of a push.
Guest NoCalMike Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 If they are still in hot pursuit of a Lesnar/Angle match at Mania, then the obvious choice is Angle. The longshot is RVD. And the odds on favorite is Triple H(If the WWE plans for Angle is not set in stone)
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I don't think we can really predict any winners until they say what they're going to do about the title shot if there are currently two #1 titles in the company right now. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest tombstone Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The Rumble winner ALWAYS gets a title shot at Mania. But with two world titles, which title is up for the shot. I think that they will make it that the Rumble winner gets a shot at the World Title of the OTHER show, so Steph and Bischoff can build it up big style. Either Rock or Triple H wins, with Rock claiming the Undisputed Title either on TV or at No way Out. This of course sets up a UNIFICATION match at Wrestlemania between The Rock and Triple H, which is the only big money match left. Expect Booker, Brock and Edge to make good showings.
Guest midnight_burn Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 If he's back in time, I fear the winner will be Kevin Nash.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I'm thinking a new, rising star will win it like Benoit, RVD or Eddie.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 I'm going to go with Angle unless Austin is back or Goldberg has signed by then
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 My money is on Angle winning the Royal Rumble. I'd also like to see RVD win it, as well as Lesnar.
Secret Agent Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Angle for sure. Why are people even saying Austin? Is he coming back and i'm just behind on the news? I think the Rumble would be for the WWE Championship, as that is the real title anyways.
Guest candie45 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Kevin Nash will come hobbling down the the ring as a "surprise" entrant and win it even though he won't be fully healed. He will then tear his quad celebrating, Triple H will tear his quad in his title match and still retain, and folks we got a mighty fine wheelchair main event for Wrestlemania.

Please, I hope that doesn't happen. As much as I'm a fan of Nash, I don't want to see him win the Royal Rumble.
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 If the buyrate for No Mercy is ok, and the fans responce continues to be positive, don't rule out a Kane win (dammit). EDIT: Awww crap! I wasted post 1000 on that! Erm... NTO 4 Life.
Guest Trivia247 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The winner of the Royal Rumble will be a.........Main eventer wow im psychic
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 The winner of the Royal Rumble will be a.........Main eventer wow im psychic Holy Crap! You should take up gambling dude!
Guest eiker_ir Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 i think Angle might win, but i really really want RVD to win so he can FINALLY get the championship at Wrestlemania... ...u know like when HBK finaly won it at WM 12 or when Austin finally won it at WM 14 i want a new champion damnit!
Guest saturnmark4life Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 As long as Eddy is the iron man i'll be happy. I think Angle is most likely (behind the gayme) but don't rule austin out as a surprise entrant. I just don't think Van Dam has it in him. Oh and kurt is actually more likely to be challenging for the title before WM, maybe at the rumble, HHH is SO in the fricking main event at WM.
Guest usmale Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 i dont think he will win but i look for kevin nash to make a big impact probably throwing out the most guys. id like to see eddie g or angle pull a ric flair or martel and stay in it a long time if not win the whole thing.
Guest humongous2002 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 As much as i admire Angle, he shouldn't win the Rumble to get a chance to main event at Mania just because it will be a bad idea, him turning babyface would make him #2 or #3 good guy in the company, i don't see him being #1 babyface in just a matter of months, it would be too soon for him to get the babyface push. I agreed to the fact that he has earn the chance to main event Mania but that should've happened @ Mania x8. Him turning babyface after being a top heel it's like giving HHH a Royal Rumble win after we last saw him as a hated heel 8 months before, the fans didn't think of him as a # babyface b/c Austin and The Rock were still in the roster at the time and HGH's title reign ended less than a month. The same will apply with Angle because we got RVD,Edge and even Booker as top babyfaces like it or not. The traditional main event at Mania has always been top babyface against top heel, remember the WWF took a while to make Austin into a top babyface, even though he was a heel some people cheered for him but that was a very small amount of fans . He finally started getting the big pops almost right after Wrestlemania 13. So personally the right thing for WWE to do is have RVD win the Rumble because a lot of fans are dying to see him carry the company on his back, so far he's the one getting the big pops.
Guest Brian Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 If Angle/Benoit is portrayed as more of a tweener feud and Angle is already getting pops, plus without a real number one face in the company right now, Angle could get into that position. I think the one advantage of Angle/Benoit is that it gives Angle a chance to give an edge and seriousness to his character outside of the title and away from the guys that strive to make him (and others) look bad
Guest Repo Man jr Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 HHH number 1, Taker number 2. They spend 60 mins flicking out the other 28 midcarders including some great spots like... Angle runs in, HHH moves and Angle goes flying out the other side. RVD comes in a HHH pedigrees him so hard he bounces over the top. Jericho comes in and HHH presses him above his head, spins him round on one finger, drops him out then points and laughs! The finish - HHH and Taker both go over at the same time so its a draw and they have to main event Wrestlemania!
Guest Brian Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 You forgot how Kevin Nash stepped on Benoit by accident. Damn Vanilla Midgets!
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 HHH. Along the way he eliminates RVD, Jericho (he'll be the Iron Man this year), Booker T, Angle, Eddy, Hurricane, Kane, Vince, Jesus and God. He'll then go on to win at least 3 more rumbles, ensuring that he beats Austin's record, despite his career obviously reaching its end by that point. My serious prediction: HHH. He'll win again. Whether I like it or not. Maybe he'll eliminate RVD and Booker. Jericho is a given, though.

Guest NoCalMike Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Just the fact that Taker uttered the phrase, "I'm not feelin' it" hahaha, makes me laugh. Seriously though, I could not cope with a Triple Na'tch victory at the Royal Rumble.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 Somebody has *got* to use "I'm Not Feeling It" as they're custom title.
