They did a horrible job pushing him as a face. Crowd sympathy based on patriotism and Austin redux is not going to work. Plus he's getting some of the bigger pops now, as I've said before. Last three shows he's reportedly had a lot of face heat.

Angle was hugely over as the goofy/lovable face, but when they made him a cocky, rock-esque face, he was an even bigger asshole than when he was a heel. Let him be goofy Angle, and he'll do great.

Unless Brock used the SSP in his NCAA matches, I believe you're wrong here. The hired him because he was an NCAA champ, and has a good look.

I agree. He has that edge right now and the likeable personality, you just need to give the fans some kind of character motivation that they can get into.
