Guest Marshall Report post Posted October 12, 2002 If I leave PC on and connected to the net, after a few hours, it will disconnect me. I don’t know why. The auto-disconnect is off. Is there any software that will reconnect me?
Guest MrRant Report post Posted October 12, 2002 Yes. There is software that will act like you are doing something and keep the connection alive if you are using dial up.
Guest Marshall Report post Posted October 12, 2002 But I'm using DSL? Anything I do?
Guest MrRant Report post Posted October 12, 2002 Ugh... it would depend on what is going on to cause you to be discoed. Could be your computer if it goes to sleep mode (I've seen it happen a few times) or it could be the modem losing connection. Do you have to restart the computer or do you have to reset the modem? Guest Marshall Report post Posted October 12, 2002 No, I can just re-connect. Maybe it is the sleep mode. I'll check.
Guest Marshall Report post Posted October 18, 2002 But is there software that will reconnect if I get disconnected? Even though I'm using DSL?
Chunk 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2002 Yes. There is software that will act like you are doing something and keep the connection alive if you are using dial up. Whats that software called, and where can you get it? This is a constant pain in the arse for me aswell. The times ive left the computer downloading something, come back in a couple of hours and found its disconnected 5 minutes after i leaft, ive lost count of. The software you are talking about sounds like it would be most helpful.
