I haven't seen features THIS hard to get to since the Harry Potter DVD

-Me, after getting the Memento SE DVD

Ok, the movie was awesome, better than at least 2 movies nominated for best picture the year it was out (didn't it get nominated for director or something?) and

***MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD***

I think it shouldve gotten best picture, and unless Beautiful Mind is REALLY good, that opinion won't change. The hidden feature to watch the movie in regular order was a really neat touch. After it was over (the movie in the order it's usually in), it had kinda the same vibe I got after the Usual Suspects for some reason. Also, throughout the movie I kept thinking it was going to turn out that Lenny killed his wife, and I'm still not 100 % on that. Was the insulin really Lenny or was Teddy full of shit? And what was with all the names that ended with an 'ee' sound? Lenny, Jimmy, Teddy, Sammy, Natalie and anybody that I'm forgeting.

Anywho, movie was awesome, DVD leaves a tiny bit to be desired, the sticky note saying 'Watch' was a nice touch.

Movie: *****

DVD as a whole:****1/2

Special Features:****3/4

I haven't seen all of it in normal linear order, but from what I have seen, it's okay.

The movie isn't really backwards.

That's a myth.

The movie intercuts scenes from what would be the beginning and the end (the beginning being his phone call in his room) and the film concludes in the middle.

Watching it in the proper order is neat just for the sake of it...but once you see the movie it isn't a revelation to have it in chronological order.

Best movie of last year though. Better than anyhing this year too.

I haven't seen many movies this year. I think all I saw was Powerpuff Girls, MIIB, and Goldmember.

Yeah, it does kinda end in the middle, but the B&W intercuts are really short for the most part, so it's the middle, leaning towards the beggining.

I agree... although with the myriad of crappity crap out this year (Pluto Nash, The Tuxedo, Sweet Home Alabama), that's not saying much.
