Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 1 Red Dragon - $17,605,000/$63,229,000 2 Sweet Home Alabama $14,100,000/$85,000,000 3 Brown Sugar $11,050,000/$11,050,000 4 The Transporter $9,150,000/$9,150,000 5 My Big Fat Greek Wedding $7,866,014/$158,366,908 6 The Tuxedo $7,000,000/$37,000,000 7 White Oleander $5,655,000/$5,655,000 8 Tuck Everlasting $5,500,000/5,500,000 9 Knockaround Guys $5,040,000/$5,040,000 10 Barbershop $4,000,000/$65,423,000 11 onah: A VeggieTales Movie $3,800,000/$11,100,000 12 The Rules of Attraction $2,400,000/ $2,400,000 Well...On this busy weekend, Brown Sugar led the pack of new releases with 11 Million. Not bad. I hoped The Transporter would do over 10 Million, but not to bad for a Movie with no big budget names. It could pick up in the next few weeks. Knockaround Guys BOMBED like I knew it would even with the 20 Million Dollar Man, Vin Diesel in it. Don't know much about Tuck Everlasting and White Oleander besides the fact that it bombed. Despite having People that I would recongize, I knew T.R.O.A. would bomb. James Van Der Beek and Jessica Biel aren't exactly "Movie Stars" yet.
Guest cabbageboy Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Eh, Knockaround Guys just seemed like a movie that Vin Diesel agreed to be in before he was well known. One of those "let's release it to get it off the shelf" movies. Plus, he wasn't billed as the main star....let's wait till his next solo starring vehicle bombs and then make fun of him. Red Dragon seems to be doing mediocre doesn't it?
Guest Kingpk Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 Red Dragon seems to be doing mediocre doesn't it? Its only been out for 2 weeks. It'll go over $100M
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted October 13, 2002 Report Posted October 13, 2002 I forgot about Madonna's Movie. Swept Away"didn't even make the Top 10. She made Mariah Carey's Bomb, "Glitter" look like an Summer Blockbuster.
The Dames Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Not even made the top 10 is being nice about it. Swept Away made 300,000. Dames
Guest the pinjockey Posted October 14, 2002 Report Posted October 14, 2002 Let's not forget the biggest success IMO of the weekend. Punch Drunk Love opening on five screens made $75,000/screen.
