Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted October 13, 2002 My friend told me that members of Stone Sour are in Slipknot. I didn't hear anything about that. Does anyone know if its true or not?
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 13, 2002 Corey and James are in Stone Sour. That's how Stone Sour's been pimped as, "the side-project of Slipknot members Corey and James."
Guest EL BRUJ0 Report post Posted October 13, 2002 Stone Sour was the band that Corey(singer) and James(guitar player) were in before they joined Slipknot.
Guest La Parka Es Mi Papa Report post Posted October 13, 2002 The difference being that Stone Sour isn't nearly as dreadfull as Slipknot.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 13, 2002 And that Stone Sour sounds exactly like Staind.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2002 I've hated Staind ever since I heard Aaron Lewis botch "Black" as horribly as he did. Ok I lied, I hated them long before that as well...
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Hmm, does this Stone Sour suck dick too? If so, they're probably Slipknot. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Paragon, I've hated Staind ever since WAAF Holiday Rage 2000. Here's the story: It's my first concert, and one of my favorite bands, MEGADETH, is the headlining act. I'm lucky I saw 'Deth when I did, because they broke up a year or so after this show due to Mustaine's arm injury. Anyways... The opening acts were Boiler Room, Massachusetts-natives Staind, and Sevendust. Boiler Room got about 30-45 minutes, and did alright. Nothing too great, nothing too offensive, just your standard opening hard rock act. Then Staind took the stage. They are, by far, one of the worst live acts I've ever seen (second only to Mudvayne). Aaron did nothing but crouch over like he had a hernia, and the bassist just humped his bass. I couldn't even see the guitarist or the drummer. Sevendust rocked the house. Megadeth didn't disappoint too bad.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Every time I see Aaron in a video, he curls into a fetal position, than whines about how his parents hated him or something. I'm still pretty surprised that they've been selling this crap for about two albums now, soon to be a third, and yeah I am that sure it will sell again. It reminds me of this Six Degrees of Separation thing I heard on the local Edge102 radio station a couple of days ago: Jonathan Davis discovered Fred Durst after he sent him some demo tape, than I'm sure that Fred discovered Staind, who discovered Puddle of Mudd but I'm not sure, it could have been the other way around. Anyhoo, either way the next band was Nickelback, who than discovered Death of a Hero. The coincidence? All of these bands suck horribly and like it, although I admit to kinda liking Puddle of Mudd That being said, Wes may owe it to Fred for discovering him and making him a “star’, but he owes the entire grunge scene sooooooo much more than humanly possible. This stuff is eight years too late, but than again maybe that's why I like it... Btw Corey, how is the metal scene in Mass.? The one here in Toronto is not too good. Every time I go to these metal festivals my friends play in, I notice that most of the bands are hit and miss. Rarely is there a band that really stands out. Generally, they all have this image of rage and INTENSITY~! and shit, like what they think it's supposed to be due to what they see on TV, when they should just be doing whatever they want and liking it. Textbook example was one group who wore slipknot masks and shirts, what a fuckin' joke that was….
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Metal scene in MA is decent at best. We got some really good shit (SHADOWS FALL call Massachusetts home, and they're being called one of the greatest metal bands ever), and some really bad shit (unfortunately, there are several pussy-ass death metal bands in Mass that don't understand metal is about PLAYING your instruments, not ACTING like you play them). The punk and metal scenes in Mass are growing and growing and growing, whereas the nu-metal and pop/rock scenes are shrinking and shrinking and shrinking... NEHM: New England Heavy Metal. Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Report post Posted October 14, 2002 Puddle of Mudd got their record contract because Wes Scantlin snuck backstage at a Bizkit concert and slipped Durst a copy of their demo tape. Durst signed them soon after.
Guest TUS_02 Report post Posted October 15, 2002 Yeah, fucking a... Staind is horrible live... I had to suffer through them TWICE. Aaron Lewis literatly walks from side to side, keels over, and yells. Fucking terrible.
