Guest El Hijo del Homsar Report post Posted October 19, 2002 The last concert I went to was They Might Be Giants at Lee's Palace (in Toronto, Ontario). The opening act was some weird hippie named Mark Kellner or Keeler or something along those lines, who was terrible beyond words, but the actual TMBG set was great. They Might Be Giants are outstanding live. As for the t-shirts, they were the usual TMBG style, in that the ones with good art were on bright yellow or safety-orange t-shirts. "They Got Lost", the tour-only rarities CD, is great, though, so I'm not bitter about the lack of decent shirts. I'm going to see Beck (with the Flaming Lips as his backup band and opening act) tomorrow at Massey Hall - that should be cool. Becuase really Black LAbel Society is absolutely FUCKING TERRIBLE, and Zombie has really lost it..HOW CAN YOU HAVE A FUCKING LYRICS SET THAT GOES "YEAAAAH..." every other line?!?!?!? P.O.D. is a guilty pleasure of mine ever since Brown, and although I don't necessarily like their overbearing christianity (being that I'm agnostic and all), they have some pretty good beats and put on some crazy shows live.. ..as for Adema...yeah, their lyrics SUCK MAJOR ASS...But some of their melodies and rhythyms are pretty good...And I like them pretty much just for "Giving In" and "Trust".. I couldn't talk for about an hour afterwards cos i was screamign the words to every song. And even though they talked a hell of a lot, they played more songs than anyone else at the festival. Actually, it's one of those posts that's flat-out telling you that you have no room to comment on what music is terrible when you admit to liking ADEMA (Korn + Motley Crue + Linkin Park = Adema). Black Label Society owns your fucking ass, pussy. Also, Zombie's ALWAYS had shit lyrics. Kinda hard to say Zombie's lost it based on lyrics alone, when even stuff off of White Zombie's first album has just as bad lyrics with the word "yeah" repeated about 20 times (at the LEAST) in every song. Adema does somewhat suck, but I liek them for two songs anyways, so whatever on that one. And Black Label Society doesn't own SHIT, I've said it once and I'll say it again...
