Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 18, 2002 They were able to do it in one night. Tonight completely wiped away Two months of a HORRID feud. I am FINALLY interested as to where Angle/benoit is going. For the first time in two months, they do NOT look like petty jackasses fighting for no reason. (They are coming together for a common purposes-the tag titles) For the first time in Two months, they look competant. They didn't bumble once tonight. And oh my God, is it true? they have BRAINS? For the first time in two months, they weren't booked as the stupidect people on earth. And they actually OUTSMARTED someone. last week, they couldn't smell an obvious set up, and then all of a sudden, they have (at least) a 4 year old level IQ. Why couldn't they book the whole feud like this?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted October 18, 2002 I really liked the way Benoit and Angle 'celebrated' with Kurt all smiles, sort of devious and benoit still stoic... The real two man power trip... The WWF is theirs. Vince... Give it to em...... And Eddie... And Chavo... And Version 1... bah gawd Eddie, Chavo and Version 1. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted October 18, 2002 I'd almost like an Angle/benoit alliance to light up the tag scene while TUW sucks up the main event.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Angle/Benoit fucking rule as a tag team AND they can get over just as much as anyone. I totally dig this.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted October 18, 2002 As long as the the WWF a)Keeps telling us that Angle and Benoit, together, are unstoppable - and have them prove it in the ring. b)Have benoit and angle bring out the best/worst (whatever you want to call them killing their opponents) in each other. Sorta like a sick game they play with each other - using their opponents as toys.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 and what it did do... It got over Both Angle and Benoit as Faces...this is the building blocks to One of them taking on Brock for the title soon.
Guest suckfreecomix Report post Posted October 18, 2002 They'll fall out at the ppv. Then they'll go feud while Edge and Rey beat the Guerrero's over and over and over again
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted October 18, 2002 I dunno, heyman likes to have the tag-team-at-odds... I'd say Benoit/Angle stays together at least until Survivor Series. The great thing I like about this is that Benoit has been in the main event A LOT lately (at he's not being forced down our throats either)- and sooner or later the audience will just accept him in that role...ditto Angle, Edge, and Rey.. Guest chirs3 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Totally agree, Anglesault - this fued started out pretty bad and looked to be going nowhere, but god damn, tonight was awesome. Not just their match either, but all the Benoit/Eddie/Chavo/Angle backstage vignettes, their reaction to winning, everything, it worked so well.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 If you need proof as to how over this team can get, just look at the reaction that they got on Smackdown tonight. Toronto crowds have shown us in the past that they can change the direction of storylines (ie Hogan's sudden face turn)
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Pffff....Toronto is the place where the winds of change blow. Example- We cheer our fuckin asses off for Hogan at WrestleMania 18. The next month at Backlash, Hogan beats HHH 1-2-3 clean in the ring and HHH never gets another Undisputed Title reign. WE BROUGHT DOWN HHH! ALL OTHER CITIES BOW TO THE T-DOT! Guest SP-1 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Dang. It appears that the night I decide to miss Smackdown! is the night something totally great happened. DANG. Hopefully, this match will be online somewhere soon. . . SP
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Was I hearing things, or was there an "Angle" chant in place of the "You Suck" chant during his music at the end of the match?
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2002 I don't think you were. Personally, I'm hoping that this means that we're having a Kurt Angle face again. I kinda liked to cheer Kurt Angle. Even when a friend of mine, a MAJOR Anti-Angle person, wouldn't.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Was I hearing things, or was there an "Angle" chant in place of the "You Suck" chant during his music at the end of the match? Not only that, but a huge "WE WANT ANGLE" chant.

Guest Brian Report post Posted October 18, 2002 He's over as a face right now just about everywhere but people still love chanting "You Suck". That's going to take some work.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Yeah, there is always a problem with heels who get cheered. They are sometimes getting cheered BECAUSE they are heels. e.g Triple H. The fans used to go mad for his entrance when he was a heel, because he was "cool". Regardless, it is a step in the right direction for Kurt/Chris.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted October 18, 2002 I'm glad you're finally happy Anglesault. I'm glad that your Precise little Angle is made to look great at the dispense of Eddie & Chavo Guererro. I'm so happy that Eddie & Chavo were made to look like the fools or the "bumbing Idiots" and now Eddie is left with nothing for the PPV. Nah, just kidding! Even though I think you're too damn sensitive with the Kurt Angle stuff, him & Benoit did look great. And Eddie is that Damn good and will bounce back from this. I hope! But, what I don't get? You've been bitching about Benoit & Angle having a "Crappy" Feud when they should be Wrestling in the Main Event for the Title. Now their "Getting Along" and Working as Team, and possibly gonna become the Tag Team Champions, you're happy about this even though their not in the Main Event? Maybe I should have Patience and you'll be back on that next week?

The day before the show you went on and on about what a waste it was and how stupid it all was. Now you're praising it. How about taking the time to shut up and wait for something to happen before blatantly critisizing it? Otherwise you look like nothing but a blow hard in love with his own words. I hate to sound negative in a positive thread, but I was thinking the same thing. Then you go on to make a thread called "Was that so hard?" as if you had anything to do with it. BTW, I was at SD live and the "Angle (clap clap)" and "We Want Angle" chants were in full effect. It almost made me feel bad for Benoit because he didn't get nearly as much love despite being Canadian.

Do I sense a lil scott keith in the making? Scott Keith can't even come close to that level of cynicism. Geez, of all the people to turn into a martyr, it has to be ANGLE? He made HULK FUCKING HOGAN tap out, for crying out loud!! That would never have happened for Benoit, or Jericho, or Guerrero, to name a few.
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 18, 2002 I'd give Benoit a feud with Brock from Armageddon to No Way Out and meanwhile jump Kurt to RAW and have him beat HHH to make that show watchable. Despite what AS has said in the past, the people are starting to dig Angle as a face and this could solidify that. (Get new music though.) Then unification match with Angle finally dethroning Brock. Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted October 18, 2002 so it's Can-Am Express vs. Edge and Rey at No way out? Gee, I wonder who'll win THAT
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 18, 2002 If losing the match drives a wedge in between The Strong Submission Club and gives more of those oh-so-boring **** 1/2 star matches then let em win.

Noooooooo, keep Angle on Smackdown, all the talent can be concentrated there. Not even Kurt can save Raw, there just aren't enough interesting workers. I know it must be hard for Americans who don't get UPN and can't watch Smackdown, but I'm English and I DEMAND all my goodness in one tasty high concentration, as created by Chef Heyman. It raises the question though....what or who can save Raw?

Angle/RVD, Angle/Booker, Angle/Jericho, Angle/Storm, Angle/Regal, Angle Hurricane All the talent isn't on SD! and RAW only needs to lose HHH and Gerschwitz to become just as good. They have great workers, they have Bischoff, they have rookies who I can watch (Harvard, Orton)
Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Angle/RVD, Angle/Booker, Angle/Jericho, Angle/Storm, Angle/Regal, Angle Hurricane All the talent isn't on SD! and RAW only needs to lose HHH and Gerschwitz to become just as good. They have great workers, they have Bischoff, they have rookies who I can watch (Harvard, Orton) But none of those matches can match up to the match-ups possible on SD. In fact, I would only consider Angle/Hurricane to be a lock for being good, as all of the others are either woefully inferior to the best on SD(RVD, Booker), Very dodgy in terms of consistency(Jericho) or just plain lacking something (Storm is too bland, Regal can't work without people willing to work his style, which I have never seen Angle do). All in all, I think there is still too much to be had with Angle on Smackdown for him to leave their just yet.
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 18, 2002 Hmmm. Jericho isn't motivated right now, but if he was feuding with Angle for the RAW Title you bet your ass he would be. RVD brings about as much to the table as Rey Rey and a bit more than Edge. Storm's blandness only hurts when his opponent lacks charisma as well, Angle doesn't have that problem, Regal can be carried (Benoit/Regal at the Pillman show). I forogt to mention Goldust who is a very solid worker and whose character would be funny for Angle to react to. Chris Harvard another good worker. SD! has Benoit, Eddie, Edge, Brock, the CW's, and will probobly get the next few OVW grads. SD! is stable, RAW is sinking.
