Guest godthedog Report post Posted October 19, 2002 get on kazaa & download abbey road--the whole thing. there's a few people that have the entire uncut album in one track (believe me, it needs to be listened to like that).
Guest Marshall Report post Posted October 19, 2002 1 is really the only Beatles album I've heard all of. I've heard a couple songs off of some, but never one all the way through. That is weird. I've never heard of anyone who never heard a Beatles song all the way through. But maybe it because I'm from Liverpool and it gets shoved down your throat. Get the freakin White Album or something. Guest godthedog Report post Posted October 19, 2002 well it would be rather sad to hear of someone who has never heard a beatles song all the way through, seeing as how most of them are about 2 1/2 minutes. '1' is eeeeeeeeeevil, even as a greatest hits album. 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 both blow it away, not only in terms of song quality, but it terms of representing what the beatles were about. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Exactly. 1 only features the songs that actually made it to #1 in Britain or America (I believe), hence the name. That's only representative of a small portion of their whole output, most of which are McCartney songs. And I do enjoy McCartney's hit singles from that era, but I'd consider Lennon to be an infinitely more compelling songwriter. I don't even think that album has "Revolution" or "A Day in the Life." Blasphemous.

Guest El Hijo del Homsar Report post Posted October 19, 2002 Having just seen High Fidelity again, it doesn't seem right to do a top three. Besides, that excludes a REALLY close fourth and fifth. 1. Beck - Mutations 2. Neil Young - Rust Never Sleeps 3. Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks 4. REM - Out of Time 5. Leonard Cohen - New Skin for the Old Ceremony

Guest Shawn 5 Report post Posted October 21, 2002 1. "Slipknot" - Slipknot 2. "IOWA" - Slipknot 3. "Lateralus" - TOOL Are you serious? Damn right I'm serious. Underneath the stupid masks and jumpsuits is some real talent. I don't know about you, but I don't judge a band by how they look, I judge them by the music they produce. I hated these guys at first too, but after a few listens I fell in love with their music. Seriously, just give Slipknot another listen and remember to keep an open mind and you might just like them, I did.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted October 22, 2002 look, i think a FEW slipknot songs (the first 6 or so on the first album and a couple on iowa) are ACTUALLY OK. But they are in no way the 'best albums ever'. NO WAY. i can't disagree about lateralus though. anyways, my top three is (in no order, that's TOO hard) 1. Melvins - STAG 2. The Smiths - Meat Is Murder 3. Tool - Lateralus now, i can't go without mentioning Frank Black - Dog in the Sand, Black Letter days, teenager of the year, pretty much all the rest Pixies - all of em Butthole Surfers - hairway to steven, independent worm saloon, locust abortion technician (i haven't heard a lot of the earlier stuff) Rocket From The Crypt - group sounds Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman Andrew WK - I Get Wet. (you KNEW i would)

Guest Cerebus The Aardvark Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Meat is Murder? Really? The Queen is Dead kicks its ass. I concur. However, past the first song, Meat Is Murder is a good album. I think it's somewhat underrated by people, but I don't think it's great or anything. Probably their 3rd best album.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I can't offer my top three, becuase I haven't heard nearly as much as these other people have, but I can list the top three (non-Beatle albums) that I own! Radiohead- OK Computer The Verve - Urban Hymns Radiohead - The Bends And Slipknot blows, regardless of their appearance. I gave all the freakshow bands a chance(Slipknot and Mudvayne and the like), and they're all just NOISE. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Ok, slipknot argument time. First off, I'll start by saying they're all novice musicians, except the actual drummer, who is decent. Corey's vocals are HORRIBLE, his lyrics are elementary and don't even attempt to make sense. Come on, "Inside my shell I wait and bleed." "You can't see California without Marlon Brando's eyes." That crap is either completely vague and aimless, or else doesn't mean anything at all, and just sounds "cool" to "scream". He shows no range, and conveys no emotion other than "I'm just so so so MAD!@#$@!" Not to mention the bass is nonexistent, the guitar work is stuff that can be mastered by any kid in a black t-shirt with an Ibanez, the extraneous "percussion" is just two dumbshits in masks banging on shit, and the DJ crap is just pointless. Not to mention the fact that the band was put together by fucking Roadrunner Records, and everyone involved essentially put their original bands on hold just to make a buck, and are only now returning to the nu metal crapfests they were previously involved in, only this time with pockets stuffed full of kids' parents' money, so they can add all the studio gloss that made their two albums successful. Sure, they're the 2 greatest albums ever that don't deserve to smell my shit. All that, and I didn't say the phrase "Gay ass jumpsuit gimmicky image band playing teenage suckers for what they really are" once. Slipknot is bar none my most hated nu metal band there is, if only because they've ushered in a whole tribe of followers with even LESS talent, if that can be believed.
