Fun with Ticketmaster

Recommended Posts

Guest bps "The Truth" 21

So...we know that the ppv has sold somewhere between 4 and 5 thousand seats...

But just for fun I went to ticketmaster to see what kind of seats I could get for a party of 2.

If I want the best available...I can sit front row ringside. But that's 200 bones...so F that.

I went to best available in the non-200 dollar sections...

and I can sit in row 19 in the middle of the 100 level.

My question is...

What are they going to do?

If they bring people in off the street, or just move everyone up and kill the lights and pyros...the crowd heat will be terrible for the show.

The matches are bad enough...now imagine them with no crowd heat.

What are they going to do?

I don't care about crowd heat at all anyways. I don't see how crowd heat has any influence on whether a match is good. Sure something like the Wrestlemania III crowd can help if the show is middle-of-the-road as far as quality, but nothing more than that.

A bad match with good crowd heat is still a bad match, while a good match with no heat is still a good match.

WWE shouldn't be worried about the heat, they should be worried about the fact that nobody paid to see the show.

Yeah, but i would imagine that crowd heat will pump the wrestlers up even more you know?

Ouch, just looked more at the ticketing. A party of FIVE could buy floor seats and still sit together. That's fucking horrible sales.

At this point, I doubt it. Morale is so far in the toilet, I'm not sure much can help other than HHH being fired. Taker is a problem, but he's not even a tenth of the problem that HHH is.

Remember the bps plan for recovery

Step 1: Fire HHH and Taker.

Anyway...I think a match loses something when it has no crowd heat. It doesn't make the match the wrestlers are putting on any worse...but it makes the presentation and ability for me to get into it more difficult.

Yep, around a week ago I fooled around with it and got front row center as well. It's really pretty sad.... I have a feeling some people wandering in front of the arena are going to have some pretty damn good free seats.

I'm pretty curious on how the camera angles are going to try to shield the lack of people.

I'm still not purchasing it.

So, am I the only one thinking that if I was anywhere near Little Rock, I would buy some crap ass seats and then saunter on over to the front? I've always wanted to try something like that. Plus it would let me chant things "You murdered Abel" and other assorted nonsense. Good times.

If they were near me...I might.

Then again...I refuse to give them a dime for those main events.

I want NO CONFUSION about who doesn't draw.

I wish this kind of thing happened in the UK. They come over here so infrequently that getting tickets is a joke. The shows sell out in minutes!

Actually, when attendance and morale are as in the toilet as they are now, moreso on Raw than SD!, the wrestlers won't be as much into the match and may half-ass it.

I didn't see this post when I posted the last one, but it's obvious most of us are not on the same page. And firing isn't a solution--HHH and Taker would be fine if they, especially HHH, weren't running the damn asylum.

Did I fall into an alternate universe or something?

Since when has friggin' Arkansas been a hotbed of wrestling? Enough so that WWE should hold a pay-per-view there?? After coming off TV shows in CANADA?

I recall a RAW in Louisiana that had a dead crowd all throughout the night in early October of last year (I believe that was the RAW with the main event of Angle vs. Shane for the title - ugh). Why would WWE then respond by giving nearby Arkansas a pay-per-view??

I really don't understand.....

The arena only holds 14,000...which is small for a ppv.

They thought by going to a smaller arena in a place they don't visit often the arena would fill.

Jokes on them.

Or us...

either way

RAW is WAR, Live from the Centroplex in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We got such wonderful things as:

--> The Hurricane vs Spike Dudley... which lasted two minutes...

--> The Rock vs The Dudley Boyz, in a handicapped table match for his title...

--> Kurt Angle vs Shane McMahon, Street fight for Angle's title

--> Taker/Kane/Someone vs Test/RVD/Someone. Remember when Taker f'd up the Last Ride and nearly fell over the top rope?

What a god-awful show that was...

That was a bad night all around...

Austin Ex Machina ("faxing" in messages to Heyman at ringside... as he ditched every TV from the night after Unforgiven to the RAW two weeks later where he regained the title)

People cheering at the wrong times (HUGE RVD chants during the introductions and the commercial break before the 6-man started, as well as massive "LSU" chants for the Tigers' football team during the break, which had floor seats in the section behind JR.)

Bubba getting a Dusty Finish for the WCW title over Rock before Rock finished him off. Having a handicap tables match for a title is about as dumb as...

Kurt Angle vs. Shane-O-Mac part 2... Shane was one of only two people Angle beat in that title reign (the first was Booker, who he beat the night after Unforgiven)

This show was considered about as bad as WWF TV could get with that talent roster, until the night after the Invasion when the "Kiss my ass club" angle started.

The only good thing to come out of the night was Edge's "insider" promo on X-Pac about character development.

And then Heyman would get on the mic and say it to the people? Fucking classic.

1999 WCW Nitro (November) sold about 9,000 tickets at the Alltel Arena in Little Rock and managed to fill it with comps and free tickets. If the WWE cant sell more than that, its a pretty sad situation..

You're trying this crap on the wrong person. I'm damn near a charter member of the HHHaters.

You know, I almost feel bad that this show is going down in flames.

We need HHH out there before the show starts.

"Hey-uh, did you-uh....PAY-UH.....for these tickets-uh?"

"Hell, no! I got in for free!"

Wow, irony.

THAT part sucked, which isn't in question. The parts about X-Pac were what all of us had been saying for years but were finally acknowledged on the air.

Do you mean when he said "1998 called, it wants it gimmick back" or something to that extent? Cause that was hilarious.

Yeah. But The other part of the promo killed Christian's career, so it can safely be filed under the "disaster" category.

One promo killed Christian's career? Bullshit... Vince's crappy booking of Christian killed his career. Taking the title off of him to blow off his feud with Edge WAY too quickly was bad. Putting him in the dead Alliance angle when he was one of the hottest heels on the roster was worse. Making him a crybaby and pairing him with DDP was probably the low point.
