I don't think you can really consider GH asking someone to PM a mod hypocrisy, considering that he has probably learned from his intial mistake in August. A similar situation would be if a parent used to drink a lot when they were younger, was in a bad drunk driving accident, survived, stopped drinking, and told their kid not to drink. That wouldn't be hypocrisy. It is learning from one's mistake and passing that acquired knowledge to others in the hopes of them not making the same mistake.

marney is 100% correct!!!! i was absolutely wrong in calling out dr. tom in public. i already apologized and now handle any problems with the board through the PROPER channels.

 

i was being hypocritical PRIOR to the whole CE debate because i used to tell posters the exact same thing- pm a mod if you have a problem. as for the ban paul brigade, what exactly has he done?

Far as I can see, he's just been an annoying troll in NHB.. He was posting long pages of blank space, replying to himself, and other fun wastes of bandwidth, but I think he's stopped now.

I thought flame-baiting has always been against the rules in all folders.

No Marney, BPS and Paul are right, flame-baiting is allowed ONLY in NHB. You won't get banned for it.

 

For the record, Paul wasn't banned for flame-baiting. He made TONS of infractions and DID flame bait in his sig, which isn't allowed.

Actually, Marney is correct. Flame-baiting anywhere is against the rules.

 

So why is it called No Holds Barred, exactly? The fact that there are things that are against the rules for that folder kinda contradicts the entire concept. I understand all of them (racism, etc.) except this "no flame-baiting"; isn't NHB for flaming?
