Promotions in Houston. What ones are there?

Im heading to Houston Tx, next year for two weeks holiday in April.

 

I have a limited knowledge of American Indy's and the geography of America. I was wondering what promotions there are in Houston and what the chances of getting to a show while im out there would be.

Houston doesn't have a whole lot to offer on the independant scene. Houston and Texas in general hasn't been a hot bed for wrestling since th 80's. Their is a group that runs out of Humble(town in Houston). The best place to get the indy scene in Texas is at indywarz.com. It is a website that specializes in local cards around Texas.

thanks for the tip. I read in the details that the hotel has tv's with free "HBO" whatever that is (im guessing home box office?)

 

What wrestling is broadcast on that tv station? Does anyone know?

Their isn't any wresling on HBO. It broadcasts movies,boxing, and original programming like the Sopranos 24-7 w/o commercial interruption. You'll find wrestling on UPN and TNN.

are they standard channels on american tv? or do you have to pay extra for them? do you think they would have those channels in a hotel?

Lucha is on Galavision. TNN and UPN most hotel chains have. They are part of the basic cable package.Lucha is a crap shoot. Most cable companys offer 2-4 Spanish speaking channels. So their is a good chance to get Lucha.

Hasn't been much since Paul Boesche passed away. There's the Humble bingo promotion like Pete said, but like WCW back in the day, it's a place where old wrestlers go to die.
