Guest evilhomer Report post Posted October 22, 2002 It wasn't the greatest execution, but I marked out like mad when Jericho threw the Liontamer on Trish. This could really go somewhere. Jericho could come out and talk about how he had to wuss up the most devastating submission hold in the history of the business because of the pussies in the company who couldn't take it. (Christian picks his cue and re-inforces the point in his way). He says that he's not gonna take that shit anymore, goes on his "King of the world" spiel, and says that if you can't take it, then get the fuck out of his way because nothing will ever EEEEEVER stop him. I'm being optimistic here. I figure with Helms breaking out the Verta"brainer", and Jericho using the Liontamer, maybe some of the shackles are coming off and we can see some inovative moves for a change. **cues "Time to play the game" After the five minute entrance totally kills any heat Jericho's promo had, he promptly demands to be put in the Liontamer, 2 seconds into the hold, he powers out and gives Jericho the weakest Pedigree ever that Jericho still has to do a stretcher job for. Oh well, it's still nice to dream

Guest Army Eye Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Old school Jericho ruled. Not only did we get the Liontamer but several "agaynes" I now like Trish a little more for taking that move.
Guest Last Warrior Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Trish did sell the move very well. it is not always the opponents faults though and can simply turn into a normal crab as a result of tiredness more than anything. It does look cool when done properly but i doubt it can be salvaged and made to look like a killer move again. just like we will never see anyone pinned by the lionsault anymore. Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted October 22, 2002 It's not about taking the move...some guys in the WWE just don't have the right body type to actually be put in the Liontamer properly. Do you honestly think guys like Captain Trips or Kane can be stretched that way with their size without something ripping? Jeezy peezy, HHH and Nash both tore quads moving across the ring...let's not push it. In all seriousness, some people really just can't take it because of their size. Guys (and gals, I suppose) like Benoit, Angle, Trish, and the cruisers can take it because they're not roided up freaks or over 6'6" tall.

They rank right up there with HHH and Eddy as the challengers to Scott Steiner's throne.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Angle is not a roided up freak. You don't get into the Olympics without passing the steroid test. Benoit used to use 'roids, but he's leaned up and can actually bend his body. Besides that, you completely ignored the point of this thread. Whether they used steroids or not, the point stands that they have the body type that can take the Liontamer while guys like HHH, Kane, UT, and some others do not. Guest SP-1 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I dunno man. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that Angle, Benoit, and Eddy have normally built up their bodies. But you just don't get as big a Triple F'ing H without some medical assitance if you know what I mean. That man's body size just doesn't sit right with me. Angle, Benoit, and Eddy seem normal. But maybe it's just me. As for the Liontamer, I hope it stays too. I also hope that Jericho moves to SD! at some point and tears the house down with the talent there. *sigh* SD! is so far away . . . -SP
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted October 22, 2002 "Angle is not a roided up freak. You don't get into the Olympics without passing the steroid test." Yeah, and once you leave the Olympics, you don't have to take said tests anymore. Angle is roided up to the gills, just like HHH. "Besides that, you completely ignored the point of this thread. Whether they used steroids or not, the point stands that they have the body type that can take the Liontamer while guys like HHH, Kane, UT, and some others do not" Jericho hasn't done the Liontamer correctly in years, because he needs someone smaller than him to apply it correctly (which is why it works on a woman). He wouldn't be able to do it any better on Angle than he would on someone bigger. I don't think he ever did it on Austin properly.

That man's body size just doesn't sit right with me. Angle, Benoit, and Eddy seem normal. I'll tell you what... take 8 months off from your job and do nothing but train and eat right. I have a little money that says you will have put on some muscle mass. ASnd that is assuming that you are an average, barely in shape guy. Take Trips who works out all the time and has great cardio to begin with and the results will be dramatic.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Yep exactly. In WCW he was fighting Mysterio, Juventud, Malenko, etc. It's cool that he whips the Liontamer out on Trish since she can take it, but I wonder if it's confusing to the marks at all "why are they calling that move the walls of jericho?" LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Uuum......Triple H is just way too big, and he's actually LOST about 20 pounds of mass. The guy can't take the liontamer cause he has no flexibility and mobility now. You need guys who can take the tork on their back and are flexible. Big guys like Triple H, Kane , Taker dont have what it takes. I bet you in his feud with Booker T we'll see it applied correctly
Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted October 22, 2002 He HAS done it on Angle. And Austin can't take it properly because of his bad neck.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Guys....It'll likely turn into one of those memory lapse deals...He went for the Walls but he in his mind did the Tamer.
Guest candie45 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 That is how he applies the Walls on all girls. The women wrestlers are supposed to be flexible. That's why you can also see someone like RVD able to take it right... flexibility.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 22, 2002 R.V.D really oughta have a Excercise video...Guys would slap 25 to learn how to strech their legs and bend to their crotch ALA Van Dam.

Guest Special K Report post Posted October 22, 2002 For the roids issue, the one great indicator is if their face changes. Both HHH's and Benoit's brows have grown dramatically since the mid-early nineties, and they look much, much different. And it's not just blading scars. Go back and watch Benoit in Japan and ECW/early WCW, and the blueblood Hunter.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I remember when Jericho didn't even do the Liontamer correctly on Stephanie twice in WWE and basically did a standing boston crab instead, and she's under 6'0. It's weird how he's able to do it correctly to Trish but never has to Steph. I'm not sure why. Maybe because Steph isn't as athletic.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Steph isn't nearly as athletic as trish....Trish was a fitness champion and her body is in great physical condition...have you ever seen what those girls do for the fitness competitions during their routine? Doing it to steph would be like doing it to Michael Cole....they just dont have the flexibility. And maybe i just havent looked into it too much, but i think HHH looks the exact same facewise then he did from the blueblood days. Especially now since he has no facial hair. Symptons of steroid use are bad acne on the back and large veins bulging in the arms, neck and shoulders.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted October 22, 2002 And muscles sometimes are subject to strange tears.
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Benoit is a lot more muscular and now he's starting to RAPIDLY lose his hair. I'd say it's a safe bet he's used steroids. Angle hasn't though. He's always been quite muscular and you have to be in great shape to get into the Olympics. He's been doing push-ups since he was a fetus for Christsakes. LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2002 This is true about Benoit.....his hairline is receding rapidly.....also, you can notice that Triple H scalp is starting to thin pretty badly. His hair is also very stringy now. He's gonna look like Hogan in about 3 years. I don't get it though. The guy works out like a maniac and i'm sure he could achieve the size he wants on his own. MAybe he just wanted to take a shortcut and make it happen quicker. When he has a kidney injury and has to have it removed then he's in trouble.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted October 22, 2002 I can definitely see why people would accuse Angle of using roids. I was just watching NWO 2000 and he looks a cruiserweight compared to how big he is now.
Guest Max Danger Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Trish is so small, using the Liontamer was Jericho's only option there. Doing the Walls of Jericho Boston Crab would have looked pretty stupid, in my opinion. That's what I got out of it, not that Jericho was going to start using the Liontamer from now on. Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Let me say this. Every weight gain in sports is not caused by steriods. If anyone could naturally add some muscle Angle could do it.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 22, 2002 The thing is, Angle has to wrestle four days a week and still find a way to put in the five-six hours a day to get the gains he did. The acne on his back and receding hairline seems like a decent enough indicator as well.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted October 22, 2002 The thing is, Angle has to wrestle four days a week and still find a way to put in the five-six hours a day to get the gains he did. Four days a week at (and this is being generous) 20 minutes a match means he spends an hour and 20 minutes each week wrestling. Probably runs the ropes a fair bit too, so make it two hours, just to be safe. I'd say he has plenty of time to lift.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted October 22, 2002 Of course he has to lift. Dynamite Kid, the poster child of steroids, said so himself in his book that steroids don't mean a thing if you don't spend hours in the gym. And yes, the difference between Angle in his first half-year in WWF/E and now is startling.
