Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted October 24, 2002 It's goofy but I love the old Universal horror movies but none of them is per se scary today. Dracula can still weird some people out due to Lugosi's eyes and performance. White Zombie isn't Universal but there's another bad ass old Lugosi horror movie. If you really wanna see Lugosi over the top watch the Raven. He made Karloff his bitch in that movie. That is a movie that creeped my brother out: "God this movie is just disturbing!" There is a difference between being grossed out and actually scared. NOTLD is a movie that grossed me out but didn't scare me. Exorcist I just thought was funny and stupid. I actually watched some of Repulsion and found it so insanely boring that I just turned it off. Maybe I should have given it more of a chance.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 You ever seen Arachnophobia, Dames? Nope...funny story though. About a year ago or so, my girlfriend at the time calls me up and asks me to put it on channel 11 (which is the WB here in NY). She did this often because sometimes she wanted me to see something or tell her where we've seen a certain actor before or what. So, I put it on and she asks me...."What movie is this?" I couldn't tell from the scene, but some guy went into a barn and saw tons of cobwebs. I started to get creeped out. All of a sudden, I saw John Goodman in his little outfit and I went "ARACHNAPHOBIA!!!!WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU WOMAN!!!" I changed the channel as fast as possible! She started DYING of laughter on the phone.....I didn't find it so funny. Dames

Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Dawn, why does the first kill in Halloween make you jump? All you see is the knife plunging down through the mask, no gore or anything. Dames Shit...lol, maybe it's the first kill in Halloween 2 SPOILERS but it's the kill where Michael Myers enters the house during halloween night as the girl walks into the room, literally out of nowhere pops Michael Myers who kills her as the camera fades into the theme and the Halloween logo, etc. Doing this from memory so it might be hard to understand me. The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Dawn, I know exactly what you're talking about. However, the credits come after they redo the ending of part one. That scene did make me jump the first time I saw it too. Dames
