Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 23, 2002 I don't know about you, but I think I had about as much fun with these two systems as I have with all of this "next-generation" stuff. So, let's make our SmartMark Top 100 NES/SNES Games Of All Time List! I will start it off, and post ONE game, and each reply, try to limit it to one also, untill someone else posts after you. Just either post the name of the game, or post the name and tell WHY you love it. Anyhow, here we go... 1) Crystalis --- NES --- It is not only my favorite RPG of all time, but my favorite VIDEO GAME of all time, of ANY era! Sincerely, ...Downhome... Guest Leena Report post Posted October 23, 2002 2) Final Fantasy IV (SNES)- Best storyline, and undoubtedly the best characters in a game ever.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted October 23, 2002 3) Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest- The PERFECT platformer. Seriously, not one thing is wrong with this game.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted October 23, 2002 Super Mario All-Stars/Super Mario World - Five Mario games on one SNES cart. Yes Virginia, there is a Shigeru Miyamoto.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 23, 2002 5) Mega Man I --- NES --- Because Cutman will cut your ass!
Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted October 23, 2002 6) Mega Man 8 - SNES This game pwned the Mega Man X series IMO and was a great back-to-basics template for the series. I loved this game and and the soundtrack was trippy in a good way. Bass and Treble > Protoman.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 23, 2002 7) Mike Tyson's Punch Out --- NES --- Punch Out remains my favorite boxing game of all time, it is simply outstanding in my view.
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted October 23, 2002 8. Final Fantasy 6 (SNES) - The real best storyline in any game ever (I'd say MGS probably barely beats it as far as characters), and the music is in a league of its own.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted October 23, 2002 The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (SNES) - One of the absolute BEST entries of the Zelda series, it unfortunately sits in Ocarina of Time's shadow. Make no mistake; this one is a *classic*.
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted October 23, 2002 10. Dragon Warrior (NES) - Because without Dragon Warrior, there would be no FF6. Plus the monsters are really cool.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted October 23, 2002 Bubble Bobble (NES)
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted October 23, 2002 12. Chrono Trigger (SNES) - The last of the great SNES RPGs, CT also had amazing plot, characters and music, and topped it off with the best RPG feature ever, New Game+.
Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted October 23, 2002 13. Contra--Classic platformer with a great 2 player co-op mode. Old school BAYBEE~!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted October 23, 2002 Super Mario Kart (SNES) - started the "kart" racing trend. Surpassed by Mario Kart 64, but at the time the game kicked ass.
Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted October 23, 2002 15) Batman Returns - SNES Capcom put together this gem of a game and it brings the fuckin PAIN~! Batman runs roughshod over the Triangle Circus Gang along with the Catwoman and the Penguin. The graphics for this game are awesome and the fluid moves and techniques that Batman has are wonderful. Add in a soundtrack that keeps the blood flowing and it's a keeper. A very underrated game.
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted October 23, 2002 16. Final Fantasy (NES) - This'll be my last RPG for awhile, I promise. It's a little archaic by today's standards, but I'll never forget how much fun I had with it the first time. This was the game that made me an RPG fan, and the create a party feature was just great. And on top of all that, it introduced the world to Fighter~! SWORDCHUCKS YO!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted October 23, 2002 Bionic Commando (NES)
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted October 23, 2002 TECMO SUPER BOWL!!!!
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted October 23, 2002 19. Super Street Fighter 2 (SNES) - Nothing from that time was anywhere close to the Street Fighter series, and this was the best Street Fighter game on the SNES. Tournament mode was great for parties. Edit: I can count. Really.
Guest Kagato Otaku Report post Posted October 23, 2002 20. Super Mario RPG - Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES) - Mario does RPG, and it doesn't suck? Wow. EDIT: Really and truly, I can count as well.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 23, 2002 21: Killer Instict - My personal favorite fighting game on the SNES, the N64 version sucked and there hasn't been a decent fighting game on a nintendo platform since aside from Super Smash Bros/Melee. Plus the CD that came with the game rocks. I still listen to it. HUMILIATION! And who can forget the DEATH FLASH..
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted October 23, 2002 22. Mega Man X (SNES) - Several Mega Mans deserve to go on here, and I'm sure several more will, but X is my favorite. It's just great gameplay with no unnecessary gimmicks (like that stupid dog!), but updated for the SNES. Edit: 1...2...5..... derr?!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 23, 2002 23. Burgertime (NES) - one of the wierdest games I had for the NES. Run around a platform type deal (a la donkey kong) and make burgers while avoiding walking sausages walking pickles and walking eggs, using pepper to stun them if they got to close. Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 23, 2002 24) Maniac Mansion --- NES --- The ultimate "point-and-click" video game, of all time. What isn't to love about it, especially exploding hamsters!?
Guest KoR Fungus Report post Posted October 23, 2002 25. Mega Man 2 (NES) - My other favorite Mega Man, and the last one before that stupid dog stepped in and ruined the series.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 23, 2002 26) Saturday Night Slam Masters --- SNES --- One hell of a Pro. Wrestling game, for it's time. It had entrances full with atire that was removed in the ring, flashing lights everywhere, and a dancing monkey!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 23, 2002 27. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES) - one hell of a creepy game..
Guest Downhome Report post Posted October 23, 2002 27. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES) - one hell of a creepy game.. That was going to be my next one! It is one of the most addictive video games I have EVER played!
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted October 23, 2002 27) EarthBound-Funny and fun RPG that actually says "crap" and "fart" in an SNES game. MATURE~! Oh, uh, plus a great story with simple graphics that work great, given the enviroment.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted October 23, 2002 28. Star Fox (SNES) - One of the first console games with 3-D graphics due to the Super FX microchip, and it was a pretty awesome game although it was a bit too easy..
