Guest Kagato Otaku Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Donkey Kong Country 3 (SNES) - Yes, I plan on listing them all. And no, I can't be stopped. I love the SNES DK series. Matt wins! HA!
Guest Downhome Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 31) Ghosts and Goblins --- NES --- 'Nuff said.
Guest KoR Fungus Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 32. Breath of Fire (SNES) - Fun little RPG with bright pretty graphics and good music. Jade is cool. Best in the series.
Guest Kagato Otaku Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 33. Donkey Kong Country (SNES) - Why delay the inevitable?
Guest KoR Fungus Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 34. Mortal Kombat 2 (SNES) - Very cool fighter, with very atmospheric graphics and music. And there was actually good gameplay here too, although most people were too transfixed with the gore to see it.
Guest Downhome Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 33. Donkey Kong Country (SNES) - Why delay the inevitable? I remember when that first came out, and I got a video talking about the making of it, and whatnot right before it was released. I sat and watched it over and over, because it was simply the most awesome thing I had ever seen before on my TV... ...I bought the game on launch day. Now that I think about it, it still looks rather awesome. That game must have really pushed the power of the SNES, because it was just great.
Guest KoR Fungus Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Yeah, DKC was what finally got me to stop blathering about how much better the Genesis was than the SNES. That game pretty much single-handedly ended the console war. It just looked *so* much better than anything else at the time.
Guest Downhome Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Yeah, DKC was what finally got me to stop blathering about how much better the Genesis was than the SNES. That game pretty much single-handedly ended the console war. It just looked *so* much better than anything else at the time. Hell, it looks better than some games that come out today, lol... ...I still have that video by the way. :D
Guest Kagato Otaku Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 35. Super Metroid (SNES) - Someone's going to mention it, why shouldn't it be me? Pretty darn fun game.
Guest KoR Fungus Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 36. Mortal Kombat 3 (SNES) - Less cool, better gameplay. Once you play with the run button, there's no going back.
Guest Downhome Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 37) Contra III: The Alien Wars --- SNES --- The last "great" Contra game, untill later today that is! :D
Guest razazteca Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Tetris - the game that kept Game Boy alive all these years. Tetris 3 on SNES is my personal fav it had multiplayer support, and with the different game mode it never got boring.
Guest KoR Fungus Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 39. Dragon Warrior 3 (NES) - Can't believe I almost forgot about it. The best Dragon Warrior, with a good story all the way through and a *great* twist at the end. And you can create your own party, which is always fun.
Guest razazteca Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Pilot Wings - on SNES was one of the launch titles for the 16bit system, and did not dissapoint. If you hit certain targets on the sky diving game you get bonus levels, damn the moving moat target was hard to land on.
Guest Leena Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 EA's NHL series- The best sports games made.
Guest midnight_burn Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Secret of Mana - (SNES) - Just a great game, one of the best RPG's you'll find.
Guest razazteca Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 John Madden Football series - EA Sports if its in the game its in the game
Guest bravesfan Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 44. The Double Dragon Series. (NES)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 45) Kirby's Dream Course (SNES) - Kirby + miniature golf. You can't go wrong w/ that combo.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 46. SNK Baseball Stars. I still play this game on NES. Love making teams with current names and making money when you win to build up your team.
Guest Leena Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 47) Lufia series (SNES)- They're not the best RPG's, and they're extremely boring to play all the way through... but they have some snappy storylines.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 48) L'Empereur(NES) - Underrated strategy game where you get to be Napoleon and your objective is to become Consul(later Emperor) of France and take over Europe by defeating countries such as England, Russia, Prussia, Austria, and Turkey.
Guest Nevermortal Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 49. Actraiser for SNES A hidden gem. Awesome "civilization" simulation that also included a side scrolling platform portion. Truly a unique concept at the time, IMO.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 I still have MY DKC video, too. And that game did end the console wars. 50) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island- Four words: Touch Fuzzy, Get DIZZY~!
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 51. Marble Madness. I think it was an S/NES game... but I played it once and loved it. So much fun.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted October 23, 2002 Report Posted October 23, 2002 Marble Madness was an NES game, yeah. Innovative, too, I'm thinking.
Guest Nevermortal Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 53) F-Zero. How could I forget this? Futuristic hover craft racing with the coolest music ever!
Guest KoR Fungus Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 54. Duck Hunt (NES) - I mean, who didn't spend dozens of hours sitting two inches from the TV, trying to beat the impossible levels where the ducks move at lightning speed, stay on screen for about half a second, and the game ends when you miss one? And who can forget that damn dog?
Guest Nevermortal Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 55. Final Fight. The ultra SNES side scrolling fighter. Interesting characters, awesome bosses, and a fun plot. Who can forget G. Oriber? Or Wong Foo? Holly Wood? Axel & Slash? The Andores?
