Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I fail to understand why Hennig constantly brings Mr. Wrestling into the ring.
Guest RedJed Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I wish they'd go somewhere with this Wrestling III thing instead of pointless run-ins. Oh well, pretty solid show all around. Its just too bad the ME wasn't better.

Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Some of Laz's comments on tonight's show: Get Jose and Joel Maximo off my fucking TV. They're sloppy, slow, and all of their spots are so incredibly obviously contrived they insult my intelligence as a TNA Mark. Tell them to take a hint from cousin Red and polish their routine a little bit. Or at least get Joel to become a more power-oriented worker, since he's slow as hell and can't fly that good. Ace Steele continues to prove my theory that Damien Steele is his superior. Woohoo! AJ Styles is YOUR new 2-TIME, 2-TIME NWA X-Division champion! Mortimer Plumtree = best manager in a while Anybody else feel entertained by Brian Lawler tonight? The faces he made during the match were pure fucking GOLD, I tells ya. GOLD~! Good show tonight. GREAT compared to last week's. But still, pales horribly in comparison to Week 8 (although that's expected, as Week 8 was pretty much a PERFECT show). Enough with the run-in's and stop focusing the show on BG James and co. I like them all individually, but they take up too much of my TV time. Overall, 6.5/10. LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 LAz, i agree with you on alomost everything except the Lawler faces...the made me laugh but are kinda ridiculous. He did entertain me though. BG James needs to go away, and the run-ins in almost every match is terrible. This MR. Wrestling III shit is getting old already and they need to have a pay off very soon. Guest RedJed Report post Posted October 24, 2002 This was by far the most solid TNA show up ever until the last half hour. Steel and Estrada was sloppy.......Waltman-Lawler stuff was just uninteresting to me, too many swerves with April all night. Then the ME just pretty much blew. The rest of the stuff was really solid, and in most cases they booked things so the guys who blew in the ring didn't even look too bad. Hall still looked kind of green, but the heat in the match was there and it wasn't as bad as I feared. Tag title match was good, so was Lynn/Siaki, and the opener was a real good match. Waltman has really taken off from a workrate perspective and his match with Styles was a solid *** 3/4, definately a **** if there was more time. I like the fact that he really did his best to put over Styles too. No Harris boys this week either (or Bruce) so it was definately many notches up from previous shows in the past few months. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Hey I definitely liked this show tonight better than Raw. At least no one raped a corpse. Yes I am setting my standards a bit lower than I used to. I gotta hand it to Pac, he's been trying harder in the NWA. Also is less annoying somehow. Am I the only one who marks out for the ridiculous line "Sonny Siaki is LIFE?" Heh. Cabbageboy is LIFE.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 At least Siaki worked the correct leg the entire match. Had he switched legs he would have lost me forever. Let's see: Opening X match: I liked it. Skipper was on fire at the beginning...and I thought the Red/KAsh stuff at the end was good. Happy Red went over. TAg titles: Awesome. HArris and Storm are great. Siaki/Lynn: Siaki is lucky that Lynn is so great. Worked for me. JJ/Hall: Better than I expected, until the overbooking. Lawler/James: At least it was short. X title: Awesome. Pac's best since the Invasion. Some good near falls, and a pretty inventive ending with the Styles Clash spot. Steel/Estrada: I hate both of them. Steel didn't even do his move. Why would they put him on TV if he isn't going to do that move? Estrada needs help. Truth/Hennig: Just as bad as I thought it would be. At this point I'm all for taking the belt off of Truth if he has to face these over the hill guys every week. Who's he face next week? Oh...Hall. Dammit. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Truth couldn't get good matches with Jerry Lynn. I think it's seriously time to suspect whether he (Truth, not Lynn) is the problem in these matches. Hennig and Waltman are perfectly solid workers for a fed at this league, although nothing spectacular. It's somewhat understandable if he can't work great matches with them, but if he's bombing with Lynn, things are in trouble. They need something like a Truth/DoubleJ/Lynn triple threat and if he can't look good going through that, then I've lost all hope. Lawler is the nastiest guy in wrestling outside of wrestling when it comes to fan interaction so I'll never be able to entertained by the guy, personally. I want to see the tag match. Am I the only guy who thinks one of them (the one who isn't dressed up like a cowboy) look like a younger and smaller Bret Hart? Maybe it was what he was wearing to the ring a few weeks ago or something...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Have you seen Hennig these last few weeks? He's out of breath at the opening bell. Truth had a fine match with LowKi...and the first Lynn match was great until booking took over.
Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I wasn't aware anyone was rating Killings high. Well someone clearly does - "The biggest breakout star in recent history"
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Killings is frustrating because he is THIS close to being one of the biggest stars in wrestling. He has a hell of a gimmick, a star like quality, and great mic skills. The only problem is he can't wrestle. Seriously, can you imagine the feuds he could be having in WWE if he could wrestle for shit? Imagine him vs. Booker T, as he would no doubt rant on Booker as being a corporate Uncle Tom. Or against HHH, saying he's the corrupt whitey holding the brothas down.
Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Angles based off race are shit.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I missed the last half of the show last night, so I have to go back and watch the tape today. Concerning Killings, he's probably the best product of the NWA thus far. I love the X Division, and guys like Styles, Lynn, etc., but Killings the best persona and charisma in the NWA. Maybe if they didn't book his matches week to week (meaning his matches tend to follow the same formula-Killings gets beat/attacked or beats/attacks someone else, match for the belt the following week, lather, rinse, repeat) and gave him a prolonged feud (preferably with Lynn once his Siaki feud ends, or maybe bring back Corino...ANYBODY other than the Hennig/Hall/James contingent, save for 'Pac, who at least has a fire under his ass again. A prolonged feud with a familiar opponent would generate more interest in Killings and his opponent, in the belt itself, and produce better matches IMO. Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Zack hit the nail right on the head. Lynn is the ONLY quality opponent Killings has had. (Low Ki, as much as I love his work, only meshes well with a select few people- American Dragon, Daniels, Styles, Red, and Lynn) Give him someone with a fast paced, loose style and the match will be good. Unfortunately, no one in TNA really fits that description- maybe when EZ Money debuts that would be a great match for Truth.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I'm tired of your rap mcmahon. If being a star was based purely on wrestling ability Hulk Hogan never would have made a dime. Angle, Benoit and Eddy would Main Event. Since when was his match with LowKi bad? Due to the retarded booking that took over in the Lynn matches, the LowKi match was the best he's had. Guest eirejmcmahon Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Calm down there bps. You said that you weren't aware of anyone rating Killings highly, I just pointed out that at least one person (whoever wrote the blurb I quoted) obviously does. Killings pulls the "angry black man" gig off well behind the mic, wouldn't disagree with that.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I wasn't being angry. I was simply pointing out that he has a few things down that are important. He's almost like RVD with mic skills. They both may need to be carried...but there is nothing wrong with having to be carried when you can entertain the crowd while having it done. Unfortunately they are both on shows where no one can carry them...or they could be huge stars.
