Guest Banky Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Whats up with everyone and their dog's brother's owner's having Brett Favre in their sig at one time or another? I don't understand? Are we talking about the same guy Steve Young outshined everytime they faced? They same guy who seemingly chokes every year down the stretch? If so, you all better explain why you want to penetrate him anally. For now, I'll go on with the presumption that Steve Young was the best QB of the 90's.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Steve Young was the product of a system. I don't disagree with him being the best QB of the 90's mind you... but all QBs flourish in that SanFransisco system
Guest Banky Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I wouldn't say Jeff Garcia is really flourishing. Nor, did Young's successor, whose name escapes me. Steve Young had the complete package. One of the most entertaining stars I've ever seen in my young life.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 This year Garica sucks. But he had 2 phenomenal years before the offense shit the bed. The guy after Young, who's name escapes me too...had far more success with the SF offense than wherever it was he ended up. Oh yeah...Elvis Gerbac.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Well, a couple of the people you see may be people who lost the bet on the Bears/Packers game that we had going. I won't say he's the quarterback of the 90s(I honestly wouldn't know how to answer that question), but he is the best one out right now. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 If we're talking pure success than Troy Aikman won three SuperBowls. But I hate him...so I vote for Young.
Guest Banky Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Aikman was Emmitt to carry the offensive load. Young had to always throw, or run the ball himself.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I assure you, I do not love Brett Favre. I lost a bet to that infernal Kotzenjunge.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 But you acknowledge his greatness nonetheless. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 He's a solid QB. Definitely better than Jim Miller.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 He didnt look all that good on Sunday, even before he got hurt..
Guest HoffmanHHH Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 There's this Drew Bledsoe kid on the comeback trail, he had some rough years but I heard he might be pretty good.
Guest Banky Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Bledsoe CAN be very good, but would you consider him one of the best in the league? Maybe. But the best? Not quite yet. In 2 years, there won't even be a question who the best is. Michael Vick will be the man.
Guest gwf0704 Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Aikman was Emmitt to carry the offensive load. Young had to always throw, or run the ball himself. Excuse me blind kid but Young had a guy named Jerry Rice he threw the ball to and had a running back named Ricky Watters and Garrison Hearst, both pro bowlers in their time with San Fran. I am a 49er fan and Young is a future HOFer but Favre is the best quarterback out there right now.... Favre was the MVP of the NFL in the 90's 3 yrs in a row. MVP of the Super Bowl Longest consecutive starting streak in the NFL for a qb Pro Bowler Set a single season td record in the 90's (dont remember the year) Im a 49er fan, but I am not myopic to think that there are not better players or teams out there......
Guest Dr. Death Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 Bledsoe CAN be very good, but would you consider him one of the best in the league? Maybe. But the best? Not quite yet. In 2 years, there won't even be a question who the best is. Michael Vick will be the man. Vick will end up like Cordell Stewart. Getting his job taken from him by an X-XFL quarteback. Vick will never be the pocket passer he has to be to be a force in the NFL.
Guest razazteca Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 there was a guy from the Broncos who won 2 Superbowls late in his career who did ok in the 90s. Troy Aikman was a product of a system also, once the blockers got injuried Troy became a tackling dummy.
Guest D'Lo White Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 What about Browning Nagle? He isn't the quarterback of the 90's. I agree that Michael Vick will be the best in a couple of years. I think he'll be better then McNabb ever will be.
Guest Flyboy Posted October 25, 2002 Report Posted October 25, 2002 I don't know what's with the Favre love... I do know one thing, though.. There isn't enough DEUCE~! love here.
Guest hardyz1 Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 Vick will end up like Cordell Stewart. Getting his job taken from him by an X-XFL quarteback. Vick will never be the pocket passer he has to be to be a force in the NFL. Alright...bring on Jeff Brohm!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 Set a single season td record in the 90's (dont remember the year) Are you talking about a record solely for a season in the 1990's? Because Marino still holds the single-season record for TD's.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 How did Steve Young outshine him? I thought Favre knocked his ass out of the playoffs like three years in a row, and would have done it again if they weren't screwed by the officiating. Besides, Young wouldn't have a Super Bowl if Emmitt was EMMITT~! that year, like he truly should've been...
