ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 -- And finally, Shane McMahon recently spoke to Wrestling-Online.com Newsletter reader Sean Mosson. Below is what he had to say during the short chat: "After the pay-per-view [No Mercy, this past Sunday] was over Shane McMahon walked around talking with fans and stayed there for around twenty minutes. When asked about the ratings slump, Shane said that he's not surprised considering the great TV shows there are in competition but said business will pick up once he'll get back on TV. Our reader suggested giving Angle, Edge, Rey and Benoit a nice raise for their match and Shane said that if they wanted $1 million a month he would go pimp himself to make sure they got it, especially Angle who he said is "the greatest he's ever seen." Shane also talked about Survivor Series saying it will make Bischoff feel back down South, saying any true wrestling fan will remember." -Source for me: www.prowrestling.com Hmm...anyone know what Shane was talking about involving Bisch? ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 See...now THIS is the McMahon who should be running things. EXACTLY what I was thinking. However, some people have said that Shane would be in favor of giving Test a big push... Then again...he likes Angle... Double edged sword.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Didn't Shane want to make Test World Champion? I'll pass. The WWE needs someone other than a McMahon at the helm.
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I don't care...Test just needs work. A LOT of work, sure, but I'll trade a necro angle for a Test push any day of the week.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I won't. I don't care about that angle. I'm just not happy that the Kane push continues.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Even if Shane comes back on TV or gets more involved backstage, it really doesn't matter....Vince is the boss. If he suggests Angle should get this or that, Vince will simply say, "Angle and his olympic gold medal, trying to show my entertainment up, screw him up his ass, he gets nothing but a goofball heel character, NOW GET OUT OF MY OFFICE"

If that's showing he LIKES Angle, I'd hate to see what he does to people that he hates.
Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I don't care about a Test push, because Shane listens to the fans. If the fans say: "We don't care." the push will end.
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Once Shane McMahon left the writing/booking team, the shows started going down the shitter.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Not for nothing, But i'd rather see a big Test push than this necrophilia shit on TV now. Shane DOES listen to the fans and if he were running things i wouldnt be surprised if Benoit, Angle, Mysterio, Jericho, RVD were all at the top. I may get killed for this....but with some work, and acting lessons, and mic work I think Test could be an ok wrestler. He seems to have the agility and the look, but he just needs to be motivated. Kane, Taker, Nash would kill to be able to move around in the ring and have the athleticism that Test has.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Shane seems to be the only one who can go in there and not want to make themselves the focal point of the show and also the only one who doesn' t seem to hold grudges.
Guest Banky Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Shane can also make his opponants look good in the ring too. Fuck, 80% of the WWE roster can't do what he can. He seems like a likeable person, who wouldn't let his ego get in the way of putting out a good product. Vince, no matter how far the ratings plummet, will never abort the brand extension. He just will not admit he fucked up. The lame excuse that it gives people more camera time is shit. 3/4 of the RAW roster and many of the Smackdown people are expendable IMO. Save money, put the good guys on two times a week, and give the fans what they want to see.

He doesn't give a shit about his wrestling, though.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I grew resentful of Shane around this time last year as he seemed to be pushed ahead of 95% of the Alliance, but now that he's been off TV (with the exception of one July RAW) for 11 months now, I have come to realize that he is FAR better than his other family members. Oh, and he thinks Angle's the best he's ever seen? Wow AS, maybe he isn't so bad after all!
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Test is still better than HHH. Maybe not ringwise, but he doesn't cut promos at all and probably wouldn't try. Plus, remember that EVERY booker has their pet projects--like Heyman and Rhyno. And once Test bombs miserably he'd be depushed anyway.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Difference between Heyman's pet project, Rhyno, and most others: Rhyno, albeit short, still gives off the presence of a pure monster. He was accepted as a force to be reckoned with during the InVasion angle, and he was shorter than the vast majority of his opponents. Shane-o-Mac Daddy is great, I say. Guest converge241 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 "Didn't Shane want to make Test World Champion?" it was a last minute decision between Test Kane Big Show to get the belt @ Survivor Series for anyone who doesnt know
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I wouldnt have minded seeing the dark, tortured soul, evil Kane as the world champ. He'd make a good unstoppable monster heel for a champion. But that Freaks R' Cool dumb ass Kane now better not even touch the title.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 would Test have won the belt at SurSer99 and dropped it back to HHH one PPV later in the match where Steph turned heel?
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Pretty much. I think because of Big Slow's insanely huge contract that they didn't do Trips/Slow at Armageddon because they needed to justify the contract. And considering that all three guys mentioned above were all faces at the time, they might as well have given it to the most over of them. Heh... funny thing I just realized: All three of them were squashed by Trips on RAW after he won the title... Okay, it's not that funny, I just felt like floating out a rumor about Trips since everyone else has already done it.
Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted October 24, 2002 i think shane is great. for all the alliance angle was blown horribly, mid-late 2001 was still better than 2002 has been. i don't understand why vince prefers stephanie in creative. at all. all evidence that she has a better mind for the business is not remotely visible from the outside. i may be completely off base, but didn't jake roberts infer that shane was illegitimate in his shoot interview? i can't see it considering how closely they resemble each other facially, but still ... would explain some things. Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Shane is aslo friends with the big show, so he'd probably give him anohter world title reign...but even then, id rather have a guy uner 40 then someone over 40 in control.

Guest SP-1 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I think I've said before that I think Shane is the best McMahon to be in charge. He's smart, he's trained and I think he understands psychology and what it's like to be out there in the ring. I remember in Beyond the Mat, seeing Shane interaction with people backstage, especially with Foley's kids, you just kind of got a sense of a really warm, likeable guy. Just genuinely cool and nice. Shane's got charisma, presence, and he listens to fans, as others here have said. I'm convinced of it anyway. It's good to hear from Shane. -SP

Guest converge241 Report post Posted October 25, 2002 But shane kinda seems like he wants to put himself over at expense of others. Dont get me wrong he seems like he wants to help guys but look at how he presents himself in the context of matches by not selling the effects of the bumps and being able to, for the most part, stand toe to toe with top superstars on multiple occasions. Sure sometimes they really work a gimmick or reason for him to have a chance but a lot of times thats just thrown out the window.
