Guest AnnieEclectic Posted October 28, 2002 Report Posted October 28, 2002 yes you can, and it's probably the best non-FTP program for it getting files from mirc isn't that hard it's essentially navigating DOS with an fserve, when you see one you want to use you type the trigger in the chat (i.e. !czwshow) then the fserve window pops up, all commands are like dos dir - show directory contents cd <folder> - enter folder get <filename> - uh... get the file. that's pretty much it. some fserves also have "queue" and "send" commands, to view how long the line is and who's getting what. ....that should be it! With a T3 connectionat college, it still take me 2-3 hours to download the 250 MB files each show is. With a 56K, it could take you over a day non-stop to download a show. I have a 56K at home, and I know how much of a pain in the ass downloading anything over 10MB is, so be aware man.

It really annoys me that i only have a crappy 56k dial up connection. BT (the phone company in england) won't upgrade the local telephone exchange, so i can't get a better connection and theres nothing i can do (unless i pay out for satellite adsl). Its a shame as well, because i bought BOTB 1, and started to really get into. Oh Well, thanks anyway. ChUnK!
