Guest bcu1979 Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet. There were a couple interesting new bits in the latest Torch. William Regal is very unpopular and some consider him the least popular person in the RAW dressing room. They don't like him because he is seen as an office stooge because of his friendship with Triple H, but still attempts to present himself as "one of the boys". (There was something very similar in the Observer about Triple H/Regal this week.) Regal also gives wrestlers advice on their work in a way that is it not appreciated, while at the same time many wrestlers feel Regal has become a lazy worker himself. The locker room mood was apparently improved for a recent house show tour he wasn't on. Some wrestlers claim Brock Lesnar's ego is out of control lately, but there's debate over whether or not that is just jealousy. A lot of midcard wrestlers are unhappy with Triple H's new Horseman plan that involves Batista and Randy Orton. They see this as Triple H alligning himself with two wrestlers he knows the company has big plans for. There is also the belief that they will be the heels allowed to get any heat on them.
Guest Banky Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 Boy, the WWE lockeroom is populated by a bunch of 13 year old girls. Everyone whines and complains about the most trivial things, mah GOD!
Guest BoboBrazil Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 I know. I can't believe these huge muscle bound men act like such cry babies. It still makes for entertaining reading though
Guest bob_barron Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 Poor Regal- his greatness isnt appreciated
Guest BionicRedneck Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 Oh boy, I love the sheets!! my "sources" tell me.......I don't give a shit.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 Of course, if HHH holds a backstage meeting and says someone doesn't know how to work, the Sheets are god and you sure don't ever disagree with them. Granted, I hold the Torch at a lower level than Meltzer, but still, you guys can be so predictable.
Guest Quik Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 Of course they dislike Regal. The uneducated Raw locker room can't tell the difference between arrogance and an English accent.
Guest Paranoid Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 If I had to see Regal in the dressing room I wouldn't like him either. Seeing his pale flabby white ass would be too much.

Sure they might be some truth in their stories. About the same as tabloid newspapers.
Guest IB2BLACK Posted October 29, 2002 Report Posted October 29, 2002 I'm convinced, that if isn't about HHH, there is no news.
Guest Choken One Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 anybody that takes the sheets seriously needs to be shot...nothing but Bitter marks.
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I'd be surprised that HHH has any friends left at this point that aren't higher ups, and with no X-Pac around. Oh wait--there's still Nash. Maybe Regal satisfies a secret Steph fetish of being pissed on for him. *shrug*
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I'm convinced, that if isn't about HHH, there is no news. So you're like the WWE brass that way, eh?
Guest Mikey2Dope Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I'd be surprised that HHH has any friends left at this point that aren't higher ups, and with no X-Pac around. Oh wait--there's still Nash. Maybe Regal satisfies a secret Steph fetish of being pissed on for him. *shrug* I remember reading in an interview Regal did a couple of years ago where he said Triple H was one of the guys that helped him get back in the WWE after Regal had cleaned himself up so I'm pretty sure that's where the loyalty stems from.
Guest Andy Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Regal may not be the most entertaining wrestler out there, but he's a solid worker. Cheers, Andy
Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Regal would make a good announcer.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I think Austin had a big hand in getting Regal's job back in the WWF also. If it is true that the locker room isn't happy with Regal, then they need to get over it. There is a whole lot more that Raw's Locker Room needs to be worried about. Regal may not be as good a worker as he once was, but either is half of the Raw's locker room at this point.
ChrisMWaters Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Regal would make a good announcer. Yes he would. At the very least, he would be a much better announcer than the LAST British WWF announcer, Lord Alfred Hayes. ...though, watching WrestleMania 2....sometimes Lord Alfred was fun.
Guest Ram Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I think in WCW, Regal took HHH under his wing. They're friends, big deal.
Guest humongous2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Hey Regal sucks so bad that even the Dynamite Kid could go spin circles around him on his wheelchair.
Guest buffybeast Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Regal doesn't suck. The WWF doesn't let him, along with half the roster, display the wrestling skill they have.
Guest Choken One Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 What he has is the complete opposite of what WWE fans want...They liked his Character (as Commish) but can't stand him in the ring...Regal would have a been a great heel in 80's NwA.
Guest humongous2002 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 What wrestling skills are you talking about?????????If that was the case then Benoit ,Angle and Eddy would be in the same predicament.
Guest bcu1979 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I think it's paranoia more than anything. Anyone or anything related to Triple H is going to be looked at skeptically at the moment. Maybe Triple H truly wants to help the careers of Randy Orton and Batista. Maybe Regal really is trying to help with his advice. But, can you really blame the locker room for being paranoid at this point? What has Triple H done in the last 10 months that earns him the right to be given the benefit of the doubt? The wrestlers have an up close and personal view of RAW is Triple H each and every week. It's not like we're the only ones who saw how fast Rob Van Dam went from challenging Triple H for the title to being in filler tag team matches. You'd think his name was Chris Jericho and it was the fall of 2000. We're not the only ones who see Booker's airtime DECREASE as his popularity INCREASES and how the WWE seems to go out of their way to avoiding giving him any gold. Or saw how Triple H immediately buried Chris Jericho and the UnAmericans as being beneath him before they even got a chance to get over fresh when they jumped from Smackdown. Or how Ric Flair has been reduced to playing Triple H's butler. And the list goes on... When's the last time any feud not involving Triple H lasted more than 2 weeks on RAW? When's the last time another wrestler got an in-ring promo to talk about something other than Triple H? When's the last time a main event match on RAW did not include Triple H or end up revolving around him anyways? The sheets are just confirming what everyone can see for themselves on television each week. The RAW crew may be overly paranoid but I can hardly blame them at this point.
Guest bob_barron Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Considering Trish Stratus praised William Regal in an interview at this site I don't really believe this too much.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Who's on RAW again that can say Regal shouldn't be giving them advice? Regal has plenty of experience so I'm sure he knows what he's doing. It seems people can't have friends anymore either or they'll get looked badly upon if their friends suck. I admit Regal is kind of boring nowadays but can you blame him? The guy is the not the type to work 3 minute matches. While the match is almost coming to close, he's just warming up so you're just seeing his opening offense and then boom the match is over. And don't disrespect Regal's ass, if I got to see it everyday I know I wouldn't complain no matter what Triple H was doing to RAW.
Guest notJames Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I'd rather watch a 2-minute snippet of Regal telling a solid mat-based story, with requisite facial wizardry and hold-for-hold action, then 2 hours of HHHe-Man and the Masters of the WW_niverse. I also don't believe this "locker-room dissention" crap, anymore than I believe that Helms has heat for talking comics with the head writer.
