Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Once again I play favorites, and this time...draw the #1 team out of a hat. Click here for my power rankings
Guest bravesfan Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 --Please move the Giants down lower. Their absolutely pathetic performance on Monday, coupled with Hilliard's injury, added to their Pop-Warner-level run defense, should leave them below the Panthers... -Broncos at #1 is perfect. Although the Packers don't deserve that #2 ranking just yet, as they have run the table on a weak schedule. The Chargers (at the least, maybe Philly as well.) should be ranked higher for their suprising play this year. -Again, the Bills have also beat up on weak teams, as the Bucs should be above them. Other than that, pretty accurate rankings. Good gawd, there's a lot of bad and mediocre teams this year...
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Bah, the Pack is just fine at #2, since they didn't play this week. I'll be watching them beat the everloving shit out of Miami with my cheesehead on Monday night, to be sure. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest goodolemr Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 The Saints have a bye next week, so the only game I care about is Texans game! They must win so the Bengals will remain winless! BTW, why is it every game on MNF has sucked so far?
Guest Flyboy Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 The Saints have a bye next week, so the only game I care about is Texans game! Another Saints fan? Whoo-hoo!! Anyhow, you're right... lately the MNF games have sucked. I think Green Bay/Miami will turn that around.
Guest MD2020 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 BTW, why is it every game on MNF has sucked so far? Well, I admit that the Eagles-Giants game sucked, but you can't blame us for the Eagles-Redskins game!! Not the Eagles fault that the Skins didn't bother to show up. Good rankings bps. Can't argue with any of them, really. A question: why do you think the "wheels on the train" are going to fall off with the Eagles?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Chargers should be #1 since they are #1 in the AFC West. How the hell can the Broncos be #1 when they aren't even first in their own division (and yes I know its 1/2 game and % pts difference..and their one loss is to the Broncos, but the Broncos loss to the Ravens is enough for me not to have them #1) I also don't agree with the Rams (2-5) ranked above 7 teams with better records, 5 of which still have a chance to make the playoffs. You might as well have ranked them above the Patsies as well. The Rams have no chance at the playoffs...
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Power rankings aren't necessarily supposed to reflect only the standings, otherwise what is the point. Basically, what bps21 is saying is that if Denver played San Diego this week, Denver would win. BTW, Denver's lost to Baltimore was a fluke. I agree that Denver is probably the best team in the AFC right now, and possibly the NFL. Besides @ Green Bay and @ Philadelphia, I cannot think of another game that Denver shouldn't be the favourite in.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I just don't think that the Eagles have enough to win the SuperBowl. They'll make the playoffs, but it's that 3 or 4 games in a row that you have to win in the playoffs that bother me. Also... The Bucs and Dolphins are rated low because from what I have seen of these teams, every team ranked ahead of them should soundly beat them at this point. Like I said in the rankings though...If Rob Johnson isn't starting, Tampa can move ahead of Buffalo, and if the Dolphins win, I'll move them up to reflect their record. With Lucas at QB I think that spot accurately reflects their position.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 As a Dolphins fan, I'll agree w/ that. If Fiedler hadn't gotten hurt, they'd (rightfully) be higher (even ranked above Denver). But w/ Lucas at the helm, they're not as good.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 If Miami wins at Green Bay with Lucas, then they should be number one next week.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 If Miami beats Green Bay then they may very well be ranked #1.
Guest D'Lo White Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 If the Jets beat San Diego could they be #1.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 No. No they could not. No.
Guest D'Lo White Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Damn, could they be ahead of the Texans and Lions at least?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Yes. They probably could.
Guest Leena Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I hate power rankings... and how idiots take ESPN's power rankings like it's the bible.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 If Miami beats Green Bay at Lambeau, I'll eat this box of Honey Nut Cheerios. No, the actual box, not the Cheerios. The plastic bag too. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Leena Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 How about if Miami wins, I leave the board and you never get to see my existance again?
Guest Flyboy Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 But... but... what about the Bengals?!
Guest razazteca Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 Vikings are the 2nd best team in the NFC North, they at least are better than the JETS. If they only had a defense and if Randy Moss stopped dropping TD passes.
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I wouldn't get that drastic. Ray Lucas can't possibly play that bad again, and our run defense should be able to take Green out of it, leaving it to a hobbled Favre... ...whose still better than about everyone else in the league. We've got a great game on Monday Night, only way it could be better if there weren't so many injuries and such.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 30, 2002 Report Posted October 30, 2002 I think that's way optomistic. The Packers are better than the Bills, and Green is better than Henry, who had no problem against your run D.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 Sorry, but the Lions are the second best team in the NFC North. Pathetic. The Packers could win the division with Doug Peterson starting the rest of the way.
Guest MD2020 Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 I just don't think that the Eagles have enough to win the SuperBowl. They'll make the playoffs, but it's that 3 or 4 games in a row that you have to win in the playoffs that bother me. OK, I can respect that. That's hard for any team. However, if we can get a bye, then it's only 2 games to play. We have a tiebreaker over TB, and a big game against SF. Now, if the Saints and Packers can stumble a bit more...
Agent_Bond34 Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 6. 49ers (5-2) They'll win their division in a walk. They just need to find a way to put it all together if they want to be a force in the playoffs. They're getting closer. Winning 5 out of 7 and then getting hot would make this team a candidate for the top spot. That seems pretty much right. Although the Niners should be ranked at least 5th, IMO.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted October 31, 2002 Report Posted October 31, 2002 Asking who the 2nd best team in the NFC North is like asking who's better Hitler or Stalin.
Guest razazteca Posted November 1, 2002 Report Posted November 1, 2002 the NFC North champ could be 8-8
Guest Vern Gagne Posted November 1, 2002 Report Posted November 1, 2002 AFC North champ could be 8-8. The Packers already have 6 wins.
