So far this #1 contender tournament is buckets of fun.

I wonder if the match that ends up happening for the world title after this tournament will be built up as something special along with a card that is loaded compared to "just another week" of TNA? Kind of like their first supercard of sorts. Wouldnt mind seeing that, as well as an extra hour of action and a different arena for the card.

I think it depends on whether or not JJ wins.

 

He's the best heavyweight in the company, and by the time the tourney is over...they will have gone over 20 shows without him getting a title shot.

At least they were smart enough to put Lynn/Siaki and Styles/Red on last.

 

If these two matches can deliver, the rest of the show won't bother me anymore.

 

Kind of like week 2, which had an hour and a half off the worst stuff ever...then a phenomenal last 30 minutes.

Styles and Red as the ME, I can't complain about that. Plus there's 45 minutes left of airtime. A major problem I've had with many weeks is they put the main event on like 5-10 minutes before the top of the hour. Nice to see them change up that here hopefully, unless they pull out an angle in between matches here that goes on forever.

Siaki's strategy is sound, since his finisher is a roll of the dice type move that focuses on the neck.

 

But...no matter how strong they say Lynn's knee is...I still think it;s silly to not work it.

That match didn't do much for me, had little flow or logic to it. Last week's was shorter but much better. Siaki advancing just flat out blows too.

Not enough to save this show...but a good match nonetheless.

 

They broke the streak of not having clean finishes in the main event too.

It would be a whole new audience that hasn't seen them, however.

 

Limit it to around 10 minutes, tell them to go balls out, and watch the spots fly.

Pretty good match, no MOTY contender though. Was that finish botched, seems like Styles was almost supposed to be somewhat standing and then maybe powerbomb Red somehow. Could be wrong, it just came off weird to me.

 

Overall, not as strong as last week for sure.
